While Dubai might be the most famous city in the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi is the country’s capital and largest city. Futuristic and bold, the young city is defined by its towering skyscrapers and beautiful waterfront. The Corniche Road runs along the front of the city, lined with trees, park, playgrounds, cycleways and cafes. It backs onto Abu Dhabi’s large beach where there is plenty of room to take a nap in the sun, play beach volleyball or go swimming under the watchful eye of lifeguards.
For a classic Middle Eastern shopping experience visit the Old Souk. Shoppers looking for something more modern should consider visiting the city’s supermalls. Yas Mall has 370 stores with international brands, dining and entertainment. The Marina mall offers luxury shopping and an observation tower with a revolving restaurant to view the city and coastline.
You can also venture out of the city on a guided tour of the desert on camel back and enjoy a traditional Bedouin feast or Arabian barbeque under the stars.
