Argentina is a huge South American country with a varying culture and landscape. The Spanish-speaking country has a strong Italian tradition thanks to the masses of immigrants that settled there in the 20th Century.
The capital Buenos Aires offers a wide range of activities, and really comes alive after dark with excellent restaurants, night clubs and entertainment venues. This is the hometown of Salsa dance, and it is well worth a visit to a local dance hall to learn a few moves, demonstrate your skills, or just observe the locals in action.
Mar del Plata, literally “the silver sea” is Argentina’s most popular beach, just to the south of Buenos Aires. For more natural wonders head to the world renowned Iguazú Falls or visit the Argentinian section of the Andes.
Heading further south, you will find ski fields and glaciers. The bottom stretch of Argentina reaches down towards Antarctica, and here you can see penguins in their natural habitat. If you book in advance, you can even take a cruise ship to the great southern continent.
