Kids club is AMAZING

We have just returned from Le telfair and we couldn't rate it highly enough... We travelled with 2 young children and from the moment we arrived after a long flight we were offered complimentary breakfast, and a shower ahead of check in.... We then checked in and we were so impressed that we had a cot, sleep sack, steriliser, bottle warmer, High chair and baby bath already set up.... Our trip just got better and better than we absolutely can't thank the kids club and baby club enough-the staff are real life angels and filled our kids days with fun and adventure.... Special thanks goes to Reana, Ragini, Deborah, Saiuitri, Sweetie, Ivy, Axcel, Angelique and Artee..... Out kids LOVED making their own tshirts, making friendship bracelets, swimming in the kids club pool as well as their daily cookery classes and movie night! We can't wait to return All the best, Luca and Jesse x

Nice place to chill with friends and family

Luxurious Boutique Getaway... lots of children.

This hotel is luxurious and charming. Well situated in Bel Ombre, Heritage Le Telfair offers something for everyone. Beautiful beaches and amenities, friendly staff, and some of the best restaurants in Mauritius. Too many kids, so if you're used to Adults-Only, perhaps look elsewhere. We had a few dinners on the resort ruined by crying children, so after the second time, we decided to always go off resort.

Second time around and even better

There is always some trepidation when you return to a hotel for the second time, have you looked back at it with rose tinted glasses, will it live up to expectations. Well can I just assure you that our second visit surpassed our first last year. In our opinion this is mainly due to the change of General Manager to the charming Monsieur Dominique Grel who took over leadership in September and is gently introducing some innovative changes to bring Le Telfair firmly into the 21st century whilst ensuring his staff are happy and fulfilled, quite a balancing act. The old world colonial charm still exists, with the Cavandish bar at the centre of the resort providing pre and after dinner drinks complete with canopies, but unlike last year, the louder entertainment has been moved so gentle conversation is still possible. Le Palmier is as gorgeous as ever, the food still top notch. Annabella’s now has a different menu every night, which sometimes includes a themed buffet, so lots of choices. As for Le Chateau, gone is the slightly stuffy service style of last year to a more modern but still top class style of service. The food would not be out of place in any famous London restaurant, and the wine menu sublime. We even managed to tour the wine cellar. The wine is now purchased directly from France and this is noticeable. One of the innovations being introduced which we were lucky enough to try is Sushi and Tappenakyi demonstrated by two new chefs in Gin’Jas. This was an amazing experience and, although not available on the Gourmet Bliss package, is sure to be a winner. It is as tasty as it is spectacular! Food aside, the golf courses are as wonderful as ever with a new links course due to be opened in December. The golf is free to all those on Gourmet Bliss, except for club hire. I tried paddle boarding for the first time and there were plenty of kite surfers as well as kayaks and sail boats. Snorkelling is available too. Never a dull moment. The overriding element though of the holiday that will remain with us is the people. The staff from Dominique right down to the gardeners are all so lovely. Smiles everywhere you look and always happy to stop, say hello and have a quick chat. Our room maid Natasha went above and beyond, as did many of the staff. There are just too many to mention. Once again the main reason is the leadership of this magnificent hotel, who was seen everywhere, to the extent that he joked that he really wasn’t following us! He greeted every member of staff he saw and was a visible presence. Thank you all for a most amazing experience. We will be back.

Superb resort

The resort is superbly designed, with incredible gardens, gardens, spaces and villas. Rooms are like in the pictures, spacios and beautiful furnished. Staff is always helpful and friendly and the service was excellent. There are a lot of employees always doing good work to maintain the resort in it's spotless state. Food is excellent with various restaurants to have the dinner. Sharmine we thank you for organizing our stay and for the lovely surprise of the candle light dinner on the beach. That experience was incredible.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Le Telfair is a beautiful colonial style hotel set in lush grounds within the Bel Ombre Domain. The suites are large with comfortable furnishings and lovely bathrooms. There are two pools, one heated, with comfortable sun loungers and a comprehensive pool service. I would recommend taking the all inclusive package as that gives you access to all the restaurants and bars throughout Le Telfair and its sister hotel The Awali. All the Telfair restaurants are varied and excellent but a must is dinner at Le Chateau. A Michelin star worthy meal beautifully served in the original plantation house. Perfect. As golfers we enjoyed daily golf. The course is excellent and the golf staff friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait till next year to play the new course, it should be fantastic. Anyone who is a keen golfer should book now as this will be a course to remember For non golfers there are many land and water sports to enjoy Previous reviews have praised certain members of staff. I can’t do that as to name one would be to leave out many many more. Every member of staff at Le Telfair is exceptional and should be praised. From front of house to kitchen staff each works tirelessly to ensure guests have an amazing holiday. This was our 5th visit and, as usual, we were cared for royally. It really feels like coming home when everyone remembers us and the welcome is warm Our thanks to everyone and look forward to next year and another wonderful holiday at Le Telfair

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel, it ticks a lot of boxes. The service was excellent, Ashni our host could not have been more helpful, giving us advice about trips and booking restaurants for us. In fact all the staff were extremely attentive and Coco who drove us around for a day to see a number of cultural sites was really informative. For a reasonable sized resort it was not too busy, plenty of loungers around the pools or by the beach. Our junior suite was exactly as advertised in pics. A number of restaurants on site, Gin'ja was the pick for us, highly recommend the Omakase option (similar to teppanyaki). If not been to Mauritius before, it is tropical so expect to get some rain. Short and heavy, we went in May and although some rain, we thought the weather/climate was great. One very small thing I would change, the hire clubs at the golf course are poor unless a real beginner. For such a good course I would like to have seen a premium club hire option. All in would highly recommend Heritage Le Telfair, we will 100% return.

Paradise island, quo vadis?

We booked a “junior suite garden view” for a full week, half board, arriving on May 18 in the late afternoon. Check-in was quick and welcoming. We were met by a male staff member who will have been our personal concierge for our stay. We settled in room 2005, located at the first floor of one of the many beautiful building in colonial style which typically hosts 8 junior suites in total. Our room was generously sized, clean, comfortable and featured a nice beach view in spite of being a “garden view” suite. This property is wonderfully located, gorgeously architected and well maintained. Staff was mainly very kind, warm and welcoming, with just a few who probably were having a bad day. The location is superb, with a large offer in term of activities, SPA, water-sports and, obviously, golf. Food is served in various restaurants scattered around the property, transportation from and to some of them happens by golf cars. The quality of the food varies from good to very good. I’m happy to report that our dinner at Le Château de Bel Ombre met our expectations and the treatments we booked at the SPA exceeded them. Having said all that, here’s a couple of things to be aware of, as for some they could be a deal breaker. First of all, the property looks like being an ideal destination for families with small children. During our stay the hotel was rather well packed and we estimated probably more that 3/4 of the guests had up to three children many of whom were babies. The property has an internal kindergarten, a kid-club and offers baby-sitting services, nevertheless, at meal time, children will be found everywhere and will stay around until late evening, many unnoticed but some crying, other crawling around, other yet running and screaming. We heard a few of them even during our late dinner at the Château… And, obviously, breakfast time was very busy. Our second point is related to the rather convoluted pricing model the resort applies to restaurant booking, food & beverages. By choosing a booking “package” there’ll be a list of “included” and “excluded” restaurants. Luckily, nothing is impossible, it'll just become nightmarish as you go into the details. You’ll discover that there are items included, items included against a surcharge, items excluded which however can be purchased against an extra fee and items which are excluded which are offered at a discount. Furthermore, included restaurants (where you i.e. have a three course meal allowance in the half board rate) may turn excluded when one of the many special weekly events takes place. In this case (or if you choose to have dinner at a restaurant excluded from your package) you’ll have a “credit”, or a “discount” if you prefer, but nothing more. Drinks & wine lists go into painful details as to define the price and "in" or "out" nature of each individual beverage according to the various “packages”. One has to wonder why management went such a long way to set-up a model which will produce a bill that can challenge a corporate auditor. After a few interactions with the staff the sales-pitch became however rather obvious to us. Honestly, we think that it’ll difficult to remain an exclusive destination by implementing annoying department store pricing models. All in all we nevertheless enjoyed our stay and we even took the opportunity to exit the resort and visit the beautiful island.

Another Amazing Stay - our 6th.

Once again we were looked after from arrival to departure by a very friendly and professional team - from gardeners to managers. It was good to meet staff who are still there from our first visit over 10 years ago. - Mukesh, Ashley Dhiray ...... Melvin our host could not have been more helpful in organising our golf and eating arrangements. We are golfers so the Gourmet All Inclusive Package is particularly good value. The course was in excellent condition and the 2 caddie masters and golf club staff were most helpful in making our rounds enjoyable. If only our own club cleaned our clubs overnight! Lunches in the golf club have improved and the little extra touches from Deepak were much appreciated eg having picked up it was somebodies birthday a little cake appeared. The food at Le Chateau and Gin'ja was outstanding. The slightly stuffy service at Le Chateau previously has given way to a friendly top class style of service. Informative and friendly sommeliers in all the restaurants made wine tasting interesting. We look forward to the 2nd 18 hole golf course opening in Dec 2023. What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff.

"What a Gem" Heritage Telfair stood out this time round as a good choice for our family holiday destination, this is our 6th time visiting Mauritius and this will continue for many more years as the variety,beauty and all inclusive packages are just the best. Heritage Telfair was chosen for some spesific reasons, the first one was the many restaurants to choose from, second the area its located in, is gorgeous, thridly the hotel being a 5 star, fourth the room layouts was something diffrent to what we used to. Upon arrival we where met by very friendly staff that welcomed us and made us comfertable as it was very late at night. Melvin showed up and said he will be doing everything for us and what a relief as he is the best! He booked all our restaurants,activities,shuttle you name it he just organizes whatever you feel like doing. The room was magical it was so spacious we stayed in a sea view room and that said you have your own pool loungers in front of your room with the heated pool just 15m away. We could lay in bed and see the kids swim and play this was absolutely the best thing ever as we never experienced this hotel or room layout. One thing i could add is the light on the outside shower did not work and we did mention it but no fixing. The room had a dead gecko on the wall that was there for 7 nights also after i told them about it. I had to show Melvin and he made sure it got taken away eventually. The drainage on the porch is not good enough if they wash the porch of the room above all the water falls in and no drainage so the water is there for 3 days at least. The grounds are kept clean and all the staff very friendly when passing by, its fairly big so you walk a lot and could get lost easily if you don't know where to go at first. The beach is perfect with no hawkers like in the north, the water so calm as the reef stop swells from coming in. There is little rock piles just of the beach which we used with the kids to snorkel around everyday with a lot of species present it was lovely and calm. Kids aged 6 and 3 i must add. Boat shack was far away from the room at C Beach club so it was quite a long walk everytime you need to go paddle. C Beach Club has a restaurant with a pool that's open to public also, there is sometimes a DJ playing there and the vibe is nice. The food on the other hand was not good and i could add that the service could also improve a lot. They also do breakfast on A Le Carte menu. The best Restaurants at the resort is Ginja,Palmier,Chatteau that was the choices we thought had the best food. Surprisingly the Cavendish bar that serves light snacks food was also very very good and started to be a choice for us for lunch instead of heading to a restaurant. Chatteau restaurant is beautiful and fancy such a nice experience and must be done at least once. Remember after 6 men must wear closed shoes and most of the restaurant is closed shoes and long pants for men so take it with they wont let you in. Kids club was so good with kids and all the activities they had planned out for them it made our lives much easier. There is no watersport from the beach which was also something new for us as in the North there is always boats in the water and up and down along the beach. This was magical as it was always so calm and you can swim and snorkel and walk the beach past 4 other resorts without motors whining past. Shopping this side of the island is non existing, we went to the local shops to buy small things like souvenirs but its not like Grand Baie at all if that's what you kooking for. The Golf course is also there and its sure a beaut of a course with the club house serving very good food with some live entertainment at night. Talking about entertainment, there is nothing at night which again was something to get used to as in the North there is a show at the hotel every night at 10 or so. This could improve and they can definitely make an effort to do something. The kids asked every night if there is going to be a show or entertainment of some sorts. Actually if it was my place i would do entertainment as they are losing money by not doing it, having a show at night brings all the guests out and creates excitement and a good vibe and afterwards everybody is on a high and go's to bar to have a drink or two but now when you finish eating everybody go's straight to bed with no drinks nothing. They are losing money. The cavendish bar has someone playing piano or guitar its so boring if you walk past there is like 8 people max sitting there and the bar and hotel is losing income. Usually we go and sit at the bar before a show and have drinks. All Inclusive is good here and worth it but, you have to sign for every single thing you order and on every slip there is gratuity on it. Not that you must give it everytime but i prefer giving it at the end of the stay and not 40 times day. Give some sort of band like other hotels that if you are all inclusive everybody knows and helps you without having to always explain what you can eat and can drink. The Menu's are so confusing on what you can and cant on all inclusive its ridiculous you have to ask the whole time so what can i do and the waiters sometimes don't even know and that costs you money as now you ordered something that's not on the all inclusive side. Make it simple that's all! Mosquitos was quite bad and you had to spray or wear a band otherwise you will get bitten to the point of no return. Again i big up to Melvin who made our stay amazing, the small stuff i mentioned is suggestions and there will always be ups and downs but this resorts will see us again in the future as its a true gem of a place.

Perfect hotel to disconnect

From the arrival till the departure, we were blown away with the hospitality of this hotel. The Beachfront rooms were simply beautiful and most importantly very neat and tidy. They are just metres away from the lagoon and you can certainly enjoy the quietness while waking up in the morning. Food and the service were impeccable. Our stay was too short but one thing for sure is that we will certainly come back.

After having stayed in Belle Mare for 4 nights, we moved based to Bel Ombré. This part of Mauritius also has a lot to offer. Positives: the rooms are really big and spacious. Mind you, not all rooms have a sea view. We took the half board which offers the option to eat at both Heritage Telfair and Awali (which is right beside it). Water activities provided by the resort and great amenities on locations. The food was really good at Zafrani and Le Chateau. The hotel will also organise outdoor activities - we went quad-biking in the Bel Ombré nature reserve which was a lot of fun. However, I would like point out that the ocean waters in the south have a lot of current. One would be able to enjoy canoeing, stand up paddle and pedalo but this place is not for swimming. The water is shallow and a lot of current.

This resort in colonial style is absolutely fantastic to visit and provides fantastic possibilities when Gourmet Bliss package is added. The service is in top and we had fantastic 7 nights/8 days and must admit that it was probably too little, so we might come back to get more. Sleep quality is evaluated a little bit lower than the rest and this is simply due to very hard madrass, where we are used to a more medium madrass

What an absolutely gorgeous resort! Heritage Le Telfair is complete class and luxury effortlessly combined with kind and deeply personal hospitality. We celebrated our 10th anniversary and the staff were fantastic hosts, always on hand to make our stay comfortable and fun. There’s loads of water sports offered free on the resort, as well as bookable excursions, a fantastic activity centre, spa and gym all thrown in. Timomo kids clubs is also great, again free and with a range of wholesome, exciting activities for little and not so little ones to enjoy, including fishing, water sports, cooking, football and loads more! The Golf club & garden are stunning! This is a great place for a romantic getaway or to spend quality time as a family. The south of the island is definitely the best region to stay in, so the resort is perfectly located for the major tourist spots that beautiful Mauritius offers. Misrepresentation of 2 golf courses and ‘free’ golf

Excellent food in restaurants although service not up to scratch. Misrepresented on advertising of 2 x 18 hole golf courses. The second course is not yet playable. This was 1 of the reasons for choosing this resort- very disappointing when main aim of vacation is playing playing golf. Free golf did not include a buggy which was extremely expensive to hire! Disappointing for us.

It was everything perfect. My wife and i, was 14 days there in a Suite with Seaview. Heritage Le Telfair is one of my favourite hotels in Mauritius. It is indeed effortless luxury with contemporary sophistication. You’ve got a choice of the most delicious cuisines and a selection of top restaurants. The staff go out of their way to accommodate you and you receive personalized upscale service. The suites are luxurious and spacious, exquisite. Thank you Sharmine for the excellent service,it was perfect. Coco for the interesting Private South Tour it was awesome. Thanks also to Davina for the excellent Room service. Dominique (Director), thank you very much for that extra hospitality, a hand written note, and delicious fruits to make your guests feel even more special. I so appreciated it. Heritage Le Telfair is simply the best!

Place we never forget

Very nice place for holidays, for golf and relax; excellent food and beverages, very pleasant staff. Only be careful about the time you’ll visit Mauricius - the end of May the weather is relatively unstable, so guests could be surprised, that there are not only sunny but also windy with unpleasant rainy days. Nevertheless there are possibility to spend nice time also in such time in the hotel …. So in one sentence - BEATIFUL PLACE FOR EVERYBODY AND EVERY DAY :-)

We had our romantic dinner at le palmier restaurant it was fabulous all the staff was amazing and friendly especially Ashley which gives special treat that will never be forgotten while having our candlelight dinner. Our order was : Starter -palm heart kernel -Cromesquis of warm goat cheese served Main course -vegetable makhani -Pan fried fish Dessert -coconut strudel -trilogy of chocolate Thank so much for the fascinating experience..!!!

Overall stay at the Heritage Le Telfair Resort was really nice and overwhelming. We enjoyed various activities like kayaking e.t.c and also relaxed In both main nd serenity heated pool. Nice range of food in both breakfast nd dinner, however there were very minimal veg food in dinner which should be looked upon. Great rooms !!!

We had an amazing tome at the Heritage Le Telfair. The exceptionally service, stuff, facilities and atmosphere made it a memorable vacation for us. I have to mention our dedicated holiday manager, Sharmine that took care for our requests during the stay. Our stay at Heritage Le Telfair was most enjoyable. We were felt most welcome and the staff were very accommodating with my partner’s gluten and dairy allergies. The room was comfortable and of very good size and the facilities were exceptional with the uncrowded swimming pool within only a few metres of the Sandy beach and Indian Ocean.

Stayed here on the 3rd -18june room 506 beach front deluxe suite what a fantastic place staff are excellent can,t do enoigh for you always a smile and good morning /evening from the gardners to the managers ,food was excellent we was on the gourmet bliss package had all out evening meals set out for us so we didnt miss any place .le chateau was the beat for us bit it was a close call with all the others .we loved the vibe and feel of c beach club great place hopefully we can go back someday thankyoi so much.

A wonderful family trip to Mauritius. We had a great time at the Heritage Le Telfair. Really spacious and beautifully decorated suites, a range of great restaurants and staff who go out of their way to attend to your needs. Melvin was our personal butler and he went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. The spa is one of the best we’ve visited in terms of masseurs, and personally loved their use of the chakra system and connecting this to your experience. Great gym and yoga classes. Best restaurant is definitely Ginja, but there’s plenty of options for each cuisine and the chefs will also prepare things off menu for you which is great. The beach is really nice, only downside is the water is quite shallow but that’s just due to location. Went on an amazing boat trip and saw and swam with wild dolphins and turtles. I recently stayed at this beautiful resort after 10 years and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way. It was so refreshing to see many familiar faces with the same smile and passion I experienced 10 years back. Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly, professional staff and management team. Their attentiveness and warm hospitality were consistently remarkable throughout our stay. The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and comfort. It was elegantly designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. The attention to detail was evident, from the plush bedding to the well-appointed amenities. Overall, my experience at Heritage le Telfair was nothing short of exceptional. The impeccable service, luxurious accommodations, delectable dining at Le Château, the amazing breakfast set up. We had a short stay but we will definitely be back. As the iconic Tina Turner sang this hotel is simply the best. The initial check in Iwas seamless and our personal assistant Melvin was very diligent and attentive to explain all the available facilities at the resort. The suites are very clean , spacious and the best ones are the sea front ones that have a balcony with superb views and a short stroll to the excellent sandy beach. We booked the gourmet bliss package which gives you all inclusive at all the twelve restaurants and includes most premium drinks. So if you like great food and beverage, very friendly staff and a relaxing time in paradise book this hotel. It’s the staff that create the environment and this place has that in abundance. Keep up the great work

Very nice resort with excellent restaurants. Service is poor with inconsistent information from staff. We were invited to bars that were closed, loan bikes when they were all out on maintenance indefinitely etc. We had to move rooms due to a rat in the bathroom and were told a time, only to find that reception wanted to push it back 2 hours once we were packed up.

It is very nice resort with a great view. All beach activities are free. The staff is so helpful and welcoming, in addition they care for safety which is great thing. For example, in bad weather conditions, they cancel all beach activities for safety. As couples in our honeymoon, there is nothing special, we get treated as normal guests. I would recommend it as a relaxing resort but not for honeymoon special memories.

Had an amazing stay at Le Telfair! Staff were so great and accommodating. Food was delicious at each restaurant. The sea is crystal clear! Melvin was amazing and couldn’t have done any more for our family. The bar / restaurant staff were so lovely as well, Banav, Micheal, Alan and Xavier were so friendly and attentive! Gin’ja was amazing we went back twice! The tepanyaki is worthwhile! The room was very spacious and beds were extremely comfortable!

This is an outstanding location- the friendly, efficient staff, whichever location they worked in, were a pleasure to deal with. Each restaurant offered an excellent choice of food and drink and was served by very pleasant staff. The bar staff at the Cavendish bar were always full of suggestions for drinks and served them with a smile. We had taken our golf clubs so enjoyed the championship golf course, as well as the 9 hole course. The staff there were also very helpful and anticipated when we would need our clubs. We had a deluxe ocean view suite which overlooked the Indian Ocean, which was absolute heaven to wake up to each morning. The gourmet bliss package was well worth the extra cost and we would recommend it. Each suite has a host and ours was Noor, who couldn’t do enough for us and arranged a fantastic day trip with Coco in the hotel car around the main sights in the south west of the island. Noor made sure we had everything to make it a memorable holiday. All in all a fabulous holiday in a hotel we would have no hesitation in recommending (as we told the ‘top dog’ general manager on our last night).

We had the privilege of shooting a small reality show (4 crew, 2 contestance) and stay at the the Telfair Heritage resort. From the first interaction until our departure, we could not have asked for a more pleasant stay and professional staff. Although making sure that all our needs were catered for, they also made sure that there was no impact on their other guests. This takes a lot of dedication and expertise. Ovani, Alan, Loveiska and Gavesh without your outstanding service, attention to detail, and problem solving skills, we could not have had this outstanding experience. We will be back for sure. An incredible destination and resort with incredible, well maintained gardens, buildings and rooms. The gourmet bliss package really is well worth it with a range of culinary experiences awaiting you with changing a Le carte menus at Annabella’s, Gin’Ja, Le Palmier and C Beach club who all offer ranges of flavors that rival many fine dining establishments. Melvin tended to our ever changing schedules and coordinated our activities dining experiences and general needs which was naturally fluid traveling with a 6month old baby. Nothing was ever too much or met without a smile. The baby club is a really amazing service made even better by the lovely ladies (and Gents), Geraldine and Arthie to name only a few helped us part with our little one (for the first time) with relative ease while we embarked on some of the many activities such as swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and whale watching. They made sure to always keep in contact and documented the routines of our little one which always helps! Our room was kitted with a quality cot, high chair, baby bath and stroller. At all hours we could request our baby bottles to be washed and steamed. We had an absolutely amazing experience here and our expectations were met and exceeded in instances. Enjoyed the challenging and scenic golf course with my wife and dinner at the chateau with the tour made for a special birthday evening capped off with a gourmet perfectly baked and layered cake. Special thanks to Samuel, Jennifer, Stacy, Alan, Talia for all their contributions to making our stay memorable!

I will start this review by saying this is by far the best resort we have ever stayed in, and we have been to a few. What sets this place apart from the rest is it’s beauty, quality and exceptional customer service. I will break this review into sections for ease: Food and drink - We had the gourmet bliss package and I would say this is a definite must. Whilst it’s an all inclusive package, there is nothing about the quality that feels “all inclusive”. The drinks and cocktails are all to an exceptionally high standard, and the food is absolutely wonderful. It is the quality you would expect when paying at a high end restaurant, not an AI hotel. We tried as many restaurants as possible, and all were fantastic. We ate A La Carte and Teppanyaki at Gin’ja, A La Carte and beachfront dinner at Le Palmier, Annabellas A La Carte, O’Grill A La Carte, Le Chateau A La Carte, Zafarini A La Carte and Kuzini A La Carte. All were absolutely superb. We also did the wine tasting at Le Chateau which is a definite must. It’s too difficult to say which restaurant is best, honestly, just give them all a go, but what I will recommend are the following dishes/orders: Gin’ja - the sushi is REALLY good, as is the fried rice Le Palmier - the smoked marlin starter and the muscle gratin are out of this world!!! Zafarini - get the platter where you can try numerous curries and sides - best Indian food we’ve ever had, and you’ll leave neither disappointed nor hungry!! Le Chateau - the marlin carpaccio was unbelievable!! O’Grill - the fillet steak is cooked to perfection and absolutely glorious!! Kuzini - has really good limoncello if you want an authentic finish to your Italian meal C-Beach club - try for lunch at least once, for the bread and coconut dip they give you if nothing else!! Ice-cream place - definitely have a crepe and ice cream at least once, you won’t be disappointed!! Cavendish - worth knowing they do snacks here after the other lunch places are closed, if you’re a bit peckish in the afternoon Room - We booked a junior suite beach front and requested the ground floor as these come with your own loungers on the beach and an outdoor shower. We had room 504 and it was absolutely beautiful!! Very spacious and private, we felt very at home, relaxed and comfortable. Facilities - There is so much to do at Le Telfair and it’s all included, which is amazing!! The boathouse has kayaks, paddle boards, pedalos and even a glass bottom boat trip that you can utilise as and when you like. There is a sports club which has games, pool etc and there is also a snooker table in Cavendish. The spa is beautiful and well worth a visit. The public areas such as the pools and beach never feel busy and are lovely, clean and well kept. Staff - The staff are all wonderful, extremely friendly, helpful and attentive and really go out their way to make you feel welcome and ensure your holiday is special. You are constantly asked if you need anything, or if there is anything they can do for you, but are then left to relax and do your own thing too without it feeling stuffy. They have got the customer service balance here just right in our opinion. Most definitely we will be back, Mauritius itself is beautiful with lots of things to see and do, and Le Telfair is perfectly located to see them all. We hired a car and got out to all the major sights, and nothing was ever further than 30 mins away really.

We have been coming to Le Telfair annually for a number of years now. We have not been able to come in the last three years due to, COVID 2020 and 2021 and in 2022 our airline BA Comair went into liquidation and we could also not come. We have seen an exhorbitant increase in the prices of your drinks, including soft drinks as well as water and wine. This is not acceptable and certainly something that needs to be considered in returning. The prices of the wine were 6-7 times more than the cost of the same bottle of wine in a SA restaurant. The desk at Reception was the most inefficient of the services on offer. Nothing promised happened within the time frame given to us. Other than this, we had a good holiday. We have always enjoyed Le Telfair, being both golfers this has been an attraction for us to repeat our stays year on year.

Beautiful location, great restaurants and although the spa is quite small the massages are really good. All the staff were lovely, lots to do if you wanted to and lots of quiet places if you just want to sit and read by the beach or pool. Lovely big room and comfortable bed.

Absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel and it's surroundings are stunning and very well looked after, the place is immaculate. Food was great in all restaurants, service was always with a smile. All the staff were very very attentive and could not do enough for you. Pure luxury from the moment of arrival until the end. We had the gourmet bliss package and believe it was well worth the value, and my wife doesn't drink but she very much enjoyed the mocktails. Plenty today, recommend snorkelling and also getting out to discover the island. Quad biking with a swim at the waterfall is a must. Thank you to all the staff who made the stay so special, loveishka for looking after us, the staff at the Cavendish bar for great cocktails in the evenings, everyone involved with the hotel. Was very pleasant to meet Dominique at the rum tasting event. We are already planning our return trip with maybe the children next time. Thank you everyone

We were thrilled. Melvin was our concierge and he kept high standard of our service for us. There is really nothing to complain about. We were treated with such high profesionalism. We loved the food, the attention to detail, range of hospitality and activities, the room, how the houses blend with the nature….. But mostly the attention to detail, because it shows nothing is automatic. You can go by the book and make the resort same as hundreds other around the world. Or you take in account every piece of the land, every part of the property and evaluate how much it will help the guest to feel like on special place.

Poor service at the Telfair; Butler service is a bottleneck.

Our trip to this beautiful island was marred by our stay at Telfair. Our Butler was uninterested in providing any type of good service from the start. The entire mechanism for information rises and falls on the personality of your butler and ours seemed lazy or just unprofessional. We had to hunt for information and eventually one manager just printed the different brochures for us to see. Another guest told us she missed most of the activities because of her unresponsive butler. Our butler also booked us on the wrong activity and didn’t give us information about a dinner at the adjoining hotel and so we spent much more than we anticipated. Other than that the rooms are cheaply decorated and are falling apart, all the handles on the bathroom doors were constantly falling off. The housekeeping didn’t change the sheets the day we requested it and the golf driving range was muddy and difficult to play. Finally, the food was mediocre and overpriced. The only reason for the two stars, is that we thought the ladies at the spa were kind, and the services there were decent. Also Brandon at Cavendish bar took good care of us. We also enjoyed our hike with Ravin on the final day. The managers said sorry about the experience but didn’t offer any discount for the inconvenience. They tried to give us a few extra hours at the hotel while we waited for our flight, but we declined. We were ready to leave. I really do not understand why we experienced a different hotel than many of the reviews describe. Maybe it’s because we visited in low season. IMHO, there are much nicer hotels in Mauritius, we stayed at Constance Prince Maurice for the first part of our trip and highly recommend that hotel.

My husband and I had the pleasure of returning last week for the third time. This time for our 39th wedding anniversary. Last year we celebrated our grandson’s second birthday at the hotel. The family had all travelled from Sydney and we came from Cape Town. To say that each trip and stay has been beyond amazing would not describe this hotel adequately . Sharmine went out of her way to accommodate everything and her attention to detail is phenomenal. Our grandson was given such a beautiful birthday party and treat. As a family we had the BEST time and nothing was too much trouble for Sharmine. Our anniversary trip this time was again unbelievable. We felt like royalty from the minute we arrived with the staff all welcoming us back and then the magical Sharmine appeared again and had arranged very special spoils all along the way. I can honestly say that this beautiful hotel and setting has the added benefit of amazing staff. Thank you for making each trip memorable and we always leave wanting to return.

We spent a week at this beautiful hotel and will definitely be returning, from the moment you enter to the time you leave you are in complete bliss. The staff are so polite, helpful, they can’t do enough for you. You enjoying your stay is their top priority, we had a delux suite which was just amazing. The rooms are huge, light, airy and spotless just like the whole both Heritage hotels. You have an amazing choice of restaurants which you have to prebook but Annabelle’s is the only one you don’t have to, breakfast is Buffett style and is first class. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel, it is truly amazing

I traveled across more than 40 countries in the world staying at hotels such as Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi or Mandarin Oriental in Paris but I have never experienced such an extraordinary quality of service and attention to detail like in this hotel. Once you arrive to the reception you are welcomed by one of the most detail oriented and professional front office teams I get the chance to see. The decoration makes you feel like in some Scottish or British castle or palace that is just indescribable. You have to experience it for yourself. The rooms are also the cherry of the cake, from the bed, to that gorgeous exterior shower, the amenities... The restaurants and gastronomy are in another level, they do really go that extra mile to surprise guests, I loved Gin'ja so much, it is so difficult to find refined asian cuisine in Africa that this concept works so well. Shout-out to Jimmy, front office manager and Dominique, general manager, that made our stay truly unforgettable. We will come back for sure.

Telfair Gourmet Bliss beach front suite

Our first time in Mauritius. Travelling as a couple in our early fifties. We booked a deluxe beachfront suite, and whilst that is what we got, it wasn’t directly not the beach, and was beside the heated pool, which was used by families with young children and is therefore quite noisy through the whole day. The room itself was lovely and the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. We were on the Gourmet Bliss all inclusive package and would highly recommend. Pretty much everything is included in this package (apart from Lobster or Teppanyaki nights). Service in all the Telfair restaurants and bars was excellent. Visham, Manac, Brandon and Michael and everyone else it the Cavendish bar were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. C Club wasn’t the best, pizzas not great and the toilets are a bit tired but the locations and again the staff were wonderful. Gin’Ja and Le Palmier were the best places we ate at and we returned to both several times. O’Grill at the golf club is definitely worth a visit of an evening. We tried a couple of restaurants at The Awali (Zafarani and Infinity Blue), both were disappointing in comparison to Le Telfair. Marjorie our concierge was most helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend Le Telfair Heritage. The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel and Mauritius. Everyone comments on the people of Mauritius being the most warm and welcoming and I would definitely agree. One final recommendation, take a trip to swim with turtles and dolphins. We used Rolo and his team who picked us up directly in front our room on the beach.

I had the privilege of staying at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort in June 2023 and I had a super amazing experience. Everyone was nice, warm, friendly, courteous, and professional. All the staff at the resort truly understood what hospitality meant as they ensured I was always ok - from the front desk staff [Bhavish, Majourie, Ghreevesh, Dishan, Varden, Neha, Loveeshka] to my room service, room cleaning, restaurant staff and even the chefs [Mervin, Nitha, Rishi]. Boy oh boy!!!!! I was treated like royalty all through my stay. I had so much fun and will definitely visit again. I highly recommend the resort if you are looking for a beautiful experience away from home. On my last night, I had diner at C Beach Club and my oh my.........everyone at the restaurant made sure a had a night to remember - Nisha ushered me in and sat me by the pool, Rishi made sure all my orders arrived in front of me pronto but most of all Mervin the Manager on duty was super amazing. I travelled solo and at every point I needed someone to take a picture of me; there was a willing hand. The spa was another experience that was simply incredible, I got to do Pilates for the first time. A 5 star magnificent resort for royalty I highly recommend.

Amazing family holiday, such great memories, a special thanks to Lucie who looked after us at breakfast and Avissen at the cavendish bar, amazing service from these two. An all round excellent holiday, we were a family of nine including two babies under one year old, we were met on our arrival by Sharmine who was there on hand for the two weeks if we needed anything.

We had the most amazing 26 nights at this resort. The service levels were impeccable and consistently excellent. It was like there was a resort-wide conspiracy to make sure we were having the best time possible. We went with our 6-year-old and 6-month-old. The best part of the resort was the Kid's Club and Baby Care. The kids club had activities like tennis, fishing, footgolf, yoga, baking, pyjama parties, pillow fights etc. The staff there are a group of warm, children-loving and passionate employees. People like Reana, Deborah, Ragini, Rebecca, Ivy, Savitri, Sweetikar, Geraldine, Arthee, Davina, Lionel, Michael and Kingsley made our stay heavenly. The Activity Club has lots of activities like cycling, trekking, football, volleyball, table-tennis and more! The people there were always very eager to be of service. Vikesh from operations and Alan from guest relations also made our stay an awesome experience. Even the grass cutters we encountered on the way to breakfast were warm and courteous. It was always pleasant to encounter them every morning on our way to breakfast. Besides its family-friendly setup, the resort is also unique to have both a beautiful beach and a nature resort on the other side. It's full of activities (mostly complimentary) for you to enjoy just staying in the resort without having to go out for tours daily. I highly recommend this resort and would love to come back again.

AMAZING STAY

Myself and my family have just spent 7 days here and it is paradise. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. There are so many amazing activities to experience and the pools are fantastic. The beach itself is completely breathtaking. The thing that makes this hotel stand out the most I think are the staff! We had Melvin as our point of contact and I can’t even begin to explain what a difference it made to our stay. He always went over and above to help us- even on his day off! He was so helpful and kind and gave us lots of ideas of what to do during our stay and recommending places for dinner. Our kids also thought he was brilliant! ALL staff at Annabelle’s were incredible and also the maintenance staff who do an amazing job keeping the grounds pristine. Samuel was also very attentive to our needs around the pool and always greeted us with a huge smile. We will definitely be back here and recommend the hotel wholeheartedly! Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

Normally I don't share my reviews as I'm in the same profession but this hotel deserve their 5 star rating and that's why I need to express my satisfaction. Its calm, clean and beautiful. The staffs are amazing and you can feel they love their job as they are caring and always willing to help or assist you. The room is beautiful and well maintained. Service in restaurant is very good but I don't remember the names. Overall we are still spending a nice time and I would like to thank Nishal & Yannick for their hospitality and professionalism. It has been an absolutely lovely stay from start to end! Food has been the best! Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent! The foodgasmic viennoiseries were heaven! Service and hospitality are exceptional! Rooms are so clean, comfortable and spacious, with extreme attention to detail for every little thing around the entire hotel which also supports sustainability a lot! We were not expecting to be so spoiled rotten for our 4th wedding anniversary and taken such good care of during our whole stay like royalty. There was an unexpected wonderful surprise waiting for us every single day. The hotel in itself is so beautiful, with its lush gardens and breathtaking southern oceanic views, which feel so peaceful and calming. The General Manager, Mr Grel has been such a love for offering us a truly generous welcome, and all the staff as well, catering to your every need, with such genuine smiles and warmth. This hotel now ranks first in my list in Mauritius, comparable to the service I’d received abroad in a 6*+ hotel. Special mention to Noor and Bhavish who went out of their way to fulfill our every request to their best. Also Naresh from F&B, Kris, Avishka who have been the sweetest and so hospitable to us. I shall definitely return and recommend this gorgeous establishment to everyone around me! Good value for money regarding food. Our senior suite was so beautiful, clean, comfortable and so spacious, with a wonderful view on the sea. We were not expecting to be so spoilt rotten for our 4th wedding anniversary and taken such good care of like royalty! Every single day, there was a surprise waiting for us to make our celebration feel so special. The hotel in itself is so beautiful, with a unique luxurious style, its lush green gardens, and southern oceanic views, which feel so calming and peaceful for a truly relaxing stay. The General Manager, Mr Grel, has been such a love for offering us a much appreciated generous welcome, as well as all the staff, especially Noor and Bhavish who went out of their way every time to fulfill all our requests and Kris, Naresh, Avishka from F&B who were the sweetest and also a lot of other people from Le Palmier and Gin’ga who were so hospitable. You can feel the Mauritian hospitality and its warmth through everyone working there, with their genuine smiles to make your stay really memorable and catering to your every need. Thank you tons to the amazing team of Heritage Le Telfair for everything, you now rank first in my hotel list in Mauritius! The place was fantastic at many level, from the beginning, Their entrance, the reception area, the reception staff, the staff were very kind, smile, and ready to help in any way, they provide some juices while they were getting our check in ready, we were just relaxing in the lobby, no hussle in checking in, not even need to stand by the desk, they did everything for us. they even choose a room better than the one we reserved. They assign one staff member to help us with anything we need, thorough Whatsapp, and he was very helpful and easy to reach. they even reserve the dinner place and time for you. All the restaurants in the resort were of high level and delicious. and Yes if you have kids, their kids club is FANTASTIC, kids would love participate in their kids activities, Rooms and bathrooms were awesome. This place was simply amazing.

Absolutely magnificent. Everything was spectacular. The food, the people, the hotel, everything was perfect. Lovevishka was brilliant. She made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was always quick to respond to any messages and questions that we had. Best resort for family and couple alike

We have our big families staying at Heritage Le Telfair as part of the holiday to celebrate my parents in law 50th wedding anniversary. The staff was so attentive since we arrive and even arrange for a celebration cake to be given for the anniversary at our dinner. I love the room, even the most standard is so spacious and airy and has view to the river. There are so many activities for all ages. We were also given tour to the spa complex, too bad our stay was short that we didn't get a chance to experience it.
