Hardly anything bad to say!

24 May 2023 | sblknd

What an amazing experience! We went for our honeymoon and chose for an all inclusive stay. I hardly have anything bad to say about this hotel and don't even know where to start. First of all, the staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful, they just want you to have a fantastic time and will do everything to make sure of that. The food was amazing and high quality. We had a junior suite, amazing room, would recommend. The room was clean and smelled amazing. Location of the hotel was also good. The hotel is ideal for honeymooners, you will get a lot of extra's in your package. If you are looking for a good rest and calmness, this is the perfect hotel for you!

Would be 10-Star if I could!

This place is absolutely incredible. Myself and family stayed here to attend a wedding in the family - and the stay could not have been better! The staff are unbelievably friendly (always smiling and happy to chat) and the food is astonishing - we mainly ate in the Palm Court buffet (special mention to Chef Ric Teoh for going above and beyond to make our vegetarian and vegan food spectacular), but also visited Bodrum Blue, Beach Rouge, and The Creole Smoke House which all had spectacular options - another special mention to Anadiel, the Rum Master at the Smoke House who is an absolute legend and made my partner and I's rum tasting so special - it was like chatting to a good friend while tasting and learning about rum, having a great time! The facilities here are also fantastic, whether it's the pools or the spa that you're visiting, you really will not be disappointed!

Outstanding

A truly stunning hotel with world class service. There isn’t a single fault with the room, facilities or service. Couldn’t have been more impressed. The beach is also beautiful, crystal clear sea and immaculately kept. From check in to check out the service was outstanding.

A Lux experience that lived up to its name

23 May 2023 | roundwindow

We stayed for just under two weeks in this luxury hotel and came away impressed about every aspect of its service, facilities and particularly the staff. There are really too many people to name individually, because we had so many examples of people who really took interest and care, but two shining stars were front of house Elena , who really went went above and beyond in sorting out an error that had been made by the travel agent, and Alisha, our charming room maid who delighted us with her “bed art”, not just cleaning the room but making it a pleasure to return to. The teams in the restaurants, and especially in the breakfast buffet, were really great and there were many who genuinely impressed with their desire to ensure you felt really looked after. Food and drink - the range was impressive and quality of food outstanding, especially in the buffet zone. In fact, we tried the various themed book ahead restaurants, but in the end we preferred the simplicity and “have what you wish” approach of the buffet. There was also an amazing selection of drinks (but if like us, not on an all-inclusive, these felt comparatively expensive). If you like flopping on a beach, or doing water sports, tennis and gym, spa etc, this place is ideal. If you want to get out to see the Island, there is a plethora of excursions available, or you can, like us, inexpensively hire a care (drive on the left!). It’s certainly worth doing this if you wish to get a feel for the French/English/Indian/Creole culture. Live entertainment was good including pianist and live bands but the ubiquity of Eurodisco Muzak especially in early evening felt a little out of place to me. But that I think is my only little gripe with what overall was a very well appointed hotel distinguished by really capable and motivated staff. Worth a visit.

Beautiful resort with the best staff

21 May 2023 | 615andym

We arrived at the resort on the 6th May 23. We flew business class with Turkish Airlines. Great flights would highly recommend. We got a taxi from the airport costing about £60. Took 1hr 15mins. The hotel is a beautiful place set in a fantastic location. It's right at the top of the island on the east side. Having walked around the resort as soon as we arrived, it looked like there was lots to do. Long beach 2 pools, smaller one was adults only. We settled into our room 3003 which about 2 mins walk to the main reception. Super king bed (very comfortable, we even bought a quilt cover from the shop). Overall the room was perfect. The one thing that made our holiday was the staff. Special mention to Rishi in the restaurant and Julies favourite waiter Sabith, he always made sure we were spoilt, always smiling, he's a keeper. The bar was large (could do with another one though) our guy there was Nidin, he couldn't do enough for us. Also a mention to our cleaner Anisha, our room was kept spotless, she's very artistic, always something lovely on our bed. The food is fantastic, the main restaurant is amazing. There's another 4 places to eat as well. The beach is lovely, although the sea isn't as clear as we thought it would be. Sunbeds are plentiful as well. The guy who looks after you there is known as the "HAT", from cleaning your glasses to spraying your face with lovely cool water, he makes you feel special. There's entertainment most nights if not every night. Normally finishes about 10.30. After the first day we realised we were in for an expensive 11 nights. Drinks and food aren't cheap. We worked it out and were looking at spending about £2500 and we were half board. So we decided to ask about all inclusive. It worked out at about £700 each. So a no brainer. We did a North of the island trip. Only cost £70 for a full day. Tropical gardens was a mistake, we were biten to death by the mozies. There's nothing really within walking distance of the hotel, if you want more to do stop at the Grand Baie. We would highly recommend this resort. Andy & Julie

Can’t recommend highly enough!

My wife and I visited Grand Gaube to celebrate our honeymoon and cannot recommend it highly enough - The staff, service and resort were amazing! Big shout out to: - Fabrice / Nuha / Sylvano / Pooja - They went above and beyond to make the best coffees, smoothies and teas while always entertaining us with conversations about life in Mauritius! - Sabith / Delores / Sahib - These waiters at the main restaurant were extremely helpful, attentive and friendly when serving us multiple times a day! - Nitin / Naresh / Yoven / Banu - The bar staff went out of their way to make the smoothest cocktails with all our favourite combinations - Mario / Annais - Would definitely recommend allocating at least a few hours to visiting the Junk Art area and asking Mario to take you on his nature trail! - Bodrum Blue - amazing Turkish restaurant with beautiful views. Thanks to Avish and Vidhi for making our experience there so great! - Renu - We really enjoyed our daily banter with Renu who always kept us on our toes! - Bhavesh G - Bhavesh’s infectious smile was contagious around the resort - Fredrick and Davesh - Friendliest porters we’ve ever come across (who love to help with daily message in the bottle Challenge) - Niv - Very helpful when we had delays on our flight by allocating us an extra night and room at the resort! The biggest shoutout MUST go to Chef Doorgesh who took my nut allergy extremely seriously and spent at least 20 minutes with us every day in the Palm Court restaurant (main restaurant) to talk us through the food options available. If there weren’t. Enough nut free and vegetarian options available, then he would work with the other chefs to get more dishes sent to our table! Thank you to the whole team including Chef Singh and Chef Sundeep who make the tastiest Indian food. Head chef David was always in hand to supervise and make sure all guests were well taken care of! There’s no doubt the resort puts the LUX in Luxury but ultimately it’s the staff who go above and beyond that make the biggest difference!

Mouse in the resort

27 May 2023 | kevinfI5912TK

Few things really annoyed me in this resort and do not recommend:- 1 they have mouse running around the entire resort, we saw couple mouse near the gym. Later had one big black mice (looked like a rat) running around our feet when we were sitting in the bar. Bar staff just dismissed the whole thing and said it is quite common have mice on the island. Bar is next to the restaurant, at five star resort you don’t expect have mice and hygiene problems. 2. Random bills, we had bill put in our room said we took something from mini bar. We arrived and didn’t take anything. 3. Unhelpful staff, might be not all. Some staff in the resort just generally can not be bothered. We stuck in a rain asked if the staff can call someone provide with umbrellas.. they just sit there and chilling and told us to run to restaurants to get our own. The lady responsible for booking reservations for restaurants are half sleep and can’t be asked and give half asked lazy answers. Water sports area every time you go feels like you are asking them a big favour. 4. Very thin doors, not well sound proof, drunk guests walk pass by your door 2 am you can hear them clearly.

Amazing resort with great food

It was a beautiful and great resort! Very kind and helpfull staff. The atmosphere was very nice and a great music band. Special thanks to Executive Chef David for the amazing food! Definitely coming back the next time 😁

Mother’s Day lunch

Another incredible experience at the Lux Grand Gaube for Mother’s Day! Our thanks goes out to the GM Stephan Anseline for always putting together something special! Thanks especially to the FNB Manager Ricardo and the restaurant Manager Yasser of the Bodrum Blue for their kind hospitality and delectable food!

a lovely honeymoon

30 May 2023 | DavidRPerry

A beautiful resort right on the beach on the north tip of the island and every day you get amazing views of the smaller islands offshore. I visited with my wife for our honeymoon and we had a lovely time there. Courtesy room I'll start at the start. This was an awesome thing to have, having just spent 12 or so hours on a plane and then an hour in a taxi to be able to get showered, etc before our room was ready was a really nice touch People The people are amazing! All were very friendly and many times went out of their way to make our stay better. I have a list of a some of the guys that I really think deserved a shout out. (I apologise in advance for any spelling mistakes in names) Palm Court: Nitin, Naresh, Avenesh Beach Rouge: Jean Christophe, Amit, Mevin, Kevish On the beach: Veedoo, Rohan and all the water sports guys I did not catch her name but the lady from housekeeping that did our room was also very nice and did a fantastic job every day Room We stayed in a wellness suite that was overlooking a cove. It had a nice fairly private balcony that was sheltered well from the weather on the day it rained we spent the day sat on there reading and was very pleasant. There was an issue with the AC one day that affected a few rooms which they sorted pretty promptly. The walk in shower was a great size but it did take quite a while for warm water in the showers (this was also the case in the spa) and although dealt with by housekeeping it would smell a bit damp (I think maybe an issue with drainage) Facilities There was a gym that was well equipped for a hotel gym, some tennis courts, table tennis and some other things all kept well. There is also the ability to borrow a club or two and hit the driving range. Hitting from the helipad. It's like hitting out of a fairly thick rough but nice enough. Beach We spent most of our beach time on the main beach as that is where the water sports equipment was. The adult beach and pool looked very pleasant but with no music it was a bit quiet for us. The water sports equipment was all kept well and the guys who were working there were very friendly and happy to help anyone trying paddle boarding etc for the first time. The guys working the beach too were also very nice and being able to order food/drinks to your sun bed is always a good thing Location The location of the hotel is a little out of the way. I would advise if possible renting a car even if just for a few days to visit some of the other areas of the island Star Gazing One evening they put a star gazing night on and someone (I think) from the Astro Science Institute of Mauritius came, setup a telescope on the beach and showed us many of the cool things in the southern hemisphere sky. This was a really good evening and we learned a lot. On any given night the sky has so many stars especially for us coming from London. power cuts Whilst we were there, there were a few power cuts, these were hotel wide and did not last long (a few seconds) but could be quite disruptive especially one that happened whilst I was in the gym! summary A beautiful hotel full of lovely people and delicious food. A couple of minor grievances but I would not hesitate to return in the future

DELUX LUX

30 May 2023 | sallysY5787IW

Every single thing is thought about at this luxury resort- from the minute we arrived we were blown away. The decor is fabulous (kudos to Kelly Hoppen), the staff so efficient and friendly, our room was big & spacious and a huge comfortable bed with a beautiful balcony overlooking the Bay. The bathroom products are all Vegan and smell delicious We booked all inclusive so didn’t have to pay for anything once we arrived including French wine, Prosecco and after dinner drinks. The water sports are included too and Mini bar in the room! The Cafe Lux coffees were perfectly pulled by the red lipped Pooja and Nuha Our favourite restaurant was Bodrum Blue the Turkish Chef prepared authentic food that was amazing. The Pistachio Baklava desert needs a special mention We would come back and we would definitely recommend this lovely resort. (There is even a gentleman polishing your sunglasses in the beach!!!)

Incredible stay!

01 Jun 2023 | 41vishalb

We stayed at the LUX* Grand Gaube for a family wedding, so there was a lot of us there! We had exemplary service from the moment we checked in until we left, the hotel is stunning, beautifully kept and the Superior Room is very big, airy and had a good view into the gardens overlooking the beach. The main pool and palm court is where I usually hung out during the day, special shout out to Bhanu, Nitin, Veer, Naresh and Sandeep who were a pleasure to deal with and were very patient and helpful with the large group, where at times lots of orders were being placed. The customer service was exemplary! Shout out to Keshan the life guard on duty who always spared 5mins to check in on us and my daughter to make sure we were all ok! Nuha on the coffee shop was also amazing and made the best flat whites! The restaurants were all incredible, the palm court for dinner buffet had everything and the noodle counter was incredible, the daily Indian selection for breakfast was absolutely banging as well. Shout out to Singh and all the other chefs! We personally spoke to Bilal who was the head chef at Bodrum and Pedro at Inti where the food is also incredible. Inti deserves a special shout out for the incredible service and the incredible food, no wonder it’s the 2nd best restaurant in the whole of Africa! Overall fantastic stay, lots to do for couples or those with kids. The all included water sports was great for a day time activity. The evening music in Palm Court was great, the only criticism is some of the evenings the music was so mellow it killed the vibe, would prefer more of the upbeat music as people want to enjoy a drink and a dance.

It was overall excellent. The atmosphere at Inti was great and the food was good. The main bar always fantastic.

02 Jun 2023 | guilaineg2023

The customer service was impeccable. I was on a wheel chair and the staff did absolutely everything in their power to accommodate me and make my stay the best it could be under the circumstances. David from Inti, Yoven from the main bar and Diren from Palm court were absolutely outstanding in their level of care and attentiveness to my need.My appreciation and gratitude extends to ALL the other staff members who helped me and my family during our stay. I actually went back 10 days later and the welcome I received was beyond expectations.

Absolute paradise

02 Jun 2023 | 336charlottes

My husband and I recently returned from our honeymoon at Lux Grand Gaube and can honestly say we have never been so spoilt. On our arrival we were welcomed by a lovely lady (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch) with welcome drinks. When we mentioned that we were visiting on our delayed honeymoon, our room was upgraded and we were given a honeymoon package with lots of wonderful experiences included. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with every little detail thought of. The views were incredible and we felt like we were in paradise the whole time. All the restaurants served incredible food and drink with lots of variety. The only thing we would have liked was for the evening entertainment to run a little longer. There would be a live band on until 10:30pm and then background music until 11pm. The DJ that plays at the gin bar was amazing but seemed wasted so early on in the evening. Also the DJ on the beach with the aperol spritz cart would’ve been great if it could’ve gone on for longer. But this is just our personal preference of course and not a complaint. The best thing of all was the level of service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we need. The people of Mauritius are some of the nicest we have ever met. A special thanks goes to: Reedoo the beach manager (also known as the man with the hat. He is the hardest working man, he would constantly be walking up and down the beach, in the heat, ensuring all guests were happy whilst also managing the pool area, a number of members of staff and the adult area. His level of service was exceptional and he made us feel like VIPs. He certainly made our trip special and gave us memories of a lifetime, such as arranging trips for us, bringing us Prosecco to watch the sunset, making beautiful just married signs for us and ensuring we were well looked after in all the restaurants. His happiness and positivity was infectious! We went on a day trip (recommended by Reedoo) on a traditional wooden boat where we snorkelled through the mangroves and had a bbq on the most stunning white sandy beach. Tom was the skipper who took us out and we can’t thank him enough for making the day so special for us. It was great to hear all his stories. Tom and the other skippers cooked the most amazing meal for us. We really enjoyed sitting with them and getting to know them. Tom is such a genuine, trustworthy person and very hard worker, we look forward to more trips with him when we return to Mauritius. Ootam who supervises the Palm Court bar safely returned my phone that I left in the bar one evening (which was newly purchased), I couldn’t thank him enough. Another hard worker, with great stories and couldn’t do enough for us. He even organised a private curry for us for lunch one day and arranged for us to then meet the chef, Doogesh. It was the best meal we had and Doogesh even made us some curry powder to take home. Thanks to Nitin for always looking after us at lunch time and recommending the chilli paste with our pizza! Melvin done an amazing job of looking after us when we had dinner on the beach, spoiling us with extra cocktails. Naresh was a great character and would always get us tipsy with the baby Guinness shots. Thanks to all the staff that we have missed, they were all incredible and we can’t wait to come back sometime soon!

Our best holiday ever

03 Jun 2023 | jillbI5393FA

This was our first holiday in Mauritius and we stayed at Lux Grande Gaube for 3 weeks. This really was the best holiday we have ever had and for us it is 5* The hotel is delightful, well looked after and most attractive. The gardeners work so hard across the hotel grounds, and maintenance and cleaners are equally dedicated. Food is great at all restaurants, both beaches and adult pool are lovely areas to sit on a very comfy lounger, and the staff are amazing, they honestly want you to have the very best time ever and so many go out of their way to ensure this happens. Their kindness and attention on a daily basis is outstanding A very very special mention to Ashwan and Reedo, we miss you both so much, and also to Kumar, Nitin, Naresh, Renu and Meena. Their smiles and laughter, and making sure we always had everything we ever needed every day, exceeded our expectations, they really are the very best at what they do. All of them gave us memories that we will never forget. They really are the most warm and lovely people we have ever met, and they together with so many others at the hotel, made our holiday one we will treasure for ever There is no question as to weather or not we would return We will be back Kindest regards Jill & Alan

Lux Grand Gaube is a gem. Really nice place to be and outstanding services and attention received from the staffs. Special thanks to Hansley Marday who made this stay magical and unforgetable. He just goes the extra miles for his clients. The food was amazing. The room was clean and amazing views from our our room. Will recommend and definitely come back.

Amazing hotel with great staff!

05 Jun 2023 | AmitMajithia

We stayed here for 10 nights as a family, with our 18 month old. This is an incredible hotel with brilliant staff. The food options are really good; Palm court Buffett - better than your usual buffets with live cooking stations. Pancakes, omelettes etc at breakfast and pizza, pasta, stir fry etc at dinner. Bodrum Blue - serves lovely Turkish food run by head chef Bilal who is fantastic, also shout out to Avish who looked after us every time we ate there! Inti - not included in the all inclusive but 30% off and the food was brilliant. Head chef Pedro was extremely welcoming! BB’s - the pulled pork burger was amazing! Generally the staff could not be friendlier! Some names to call out were Nuha at Cafe Lux, Reedoo on the beach (even offered to clean my sunglasses!), Bhanu at Palm Court Bar (legend!!), Keshan & Amit the lifeguards and Deepuk the head chef who offered to look after our little one with anything he needed! The watersports being included as part of the hotel was a huge plus as it gave us lots to do during the day. The pool and beach areas were both lovely and there was no difficulty getting a sunbed! The “press for service” buttons on the parasols were a great addition! The only negatives I could point out; Although the hotel is super child friendly, the step free access with a pram from the main hotel areas to the rooms are quite difficult due to the design of where the lift is vs where the ramp to get to the rooms are. We also booked a romantic package at the spa which included “private use of the jacuzzi” but the jacuzzi was dirty and also not working. Luckily the staff understood my concerns and offered a discount on the package. All in all, I loved this place and would definitely go back!

An Experience Like No Other - Our Best Holiday Yet

05 Jun 2023 | Bhopks

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Lux Grande Gaube for our 10th Wedding Anniversary, and I must say it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the Lux* team with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The resort itself is a true paradise. The beautifully manicured grounds, surrounded by lush tropical greenery, created a serene and peaceful ambiance. The attention to detail in the design and decor was impeccable, with a perfect blend of modern luxury and authentic Mauritian charm. Upon arrival were told that our room had been upgraded to the ocean junior suite. Our Room was nothing short of stunning. The ocean junior suite boasted breath-taking views of the ocean and garden, the luxurious amenities provided made us feel pampered and indulged. The housekeeping staff ensured our room was always spotless and comfortable, attending to every detail with care. One of the highlights of our stay was the culinary experience at Lux Grande Gaube. The resort offers a variety of dining options, each offering a unique and delectable selection of dishes. From the sumptuous breakfast buffet to the exquisite fine dining experience at INTI, every meal we had especially the meals at Beach Rouge and INTI was a culinary delight. The talented chefs showcased their expertise by presenting us with flavours that were simply unforgettable. The resort's amenities were equally impressive. The spa offered a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation, with an extensive menu of treatments that left us feeling revitalised. The multiple swimming pools and pristine beach provided ample opportunities for leisure and tranquillity. And for those seeking a more active experience, the resort's fitness center and water sports activities offered plenty of options to stay active and entertained. What truly sets Lux Grande Gaube apart, however, is the exceptional service provided by the staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about our well-being. Whether it was arranging our excursions, providing recommendations, or simply engaging in pleasant conversations, the staff's commitment to excellence was evident at every interaction. I would like to take this special moment to express my utmost gratitude and admiration for Joenathan, the remarkable Room Division Manager who truly went above and beyond to transform our trip into an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. Joenathan, your dedication and commitment to excellence have surpassed all our expectations, leaving us in awe of your exceptional service. Moreover, I cannot overlook the exceptional efforts of the entire team, whose unwavering commitment to delivering excellence has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Their impeccable service, attention to detail, and genuine care have made our stay nothing short of exceptional. There are a few exceptional individuals I would like to personally acknowledge for their outstanding contributions. Dhiksha from Bodrum Blue, your warm smile and exceptional service truly brightened our days. Purgun from Beach Rouge, your infectious positivity, joyful personality and outstanding service brought an extra sparkle to our time at Lux*. Kaustubh from Palm Court, your impeccable service and dedication to creating magical moments will forever be etched in our memories. Yashoda from Beach Rouge, your genuine care and remarkable hospitality made us feel truly welcomed and cherished. Pravesh from INTI, your professionalism and unwavering commitment to excellence have set the bar incredibly high. And last but not least, John Christophe from Beach Rouge, your passion for your work and genuine kindness have left an everlasting impression on us. Each and every one of these remarkable individuals played a significant role in making our trip an unforgettable experience filled with countless magical moments. BEST HOSPITALITY AND FOOD

07 Jun 2023 | 361avinashr

EVERYTHING was EPIC! From the hospitality of the staffs to the food. Big thank you to Hansley Marday who has accompanied us from booking our stay to giving us the best experience we could look for in a hotel. The waiters, the barman Mr. Vishnu who made me the best Gin and tonic i've ever had. The Turkish restaurant is highly recommended - thank you to Yasser who helped us in choosing the best food on the menu (we ordered nearly everything). Hope to see you guys very soon.

Another great holiday!!

07 Jun 2023 | Ken-Joanna

We have just returned from another trip to Lux Grand Gaube. Once again the people there have excelled at making our holiday a fantastic one. We have been visiting here since 2007 and seen many changes but the staff have always remained the greatest asset of the hotel. Whether by design, which I believe it is, or not they always seem to know what we require before we do. I would love to write about every great moment and the people involved that has made this stay another memorable one but it would take an age to write. However I will try to highlight some of the great moments that we have had. The best by far is seeing all our old friends such as Diren, Elena, Nuha, Tina, Veer and many more. I can’t praise the chefs enough. Deepuck, Rajiv, Bilal, Rahman, Singh and all the other members of their teams who all made our visits to their restaurants special. Deepuck especially cooked two superb dInners and then wanted feedback as I believe these could be used on the menu in future. I must mention Pedro who is the new chef at INTI. We visited twice and each time we followed Pedro’s recommendations some of which were not on the menu yet. Highly recommend at least one visit to INTI while staying at LGG. Obviously these restaurants would not be the great venue’s they are without the dedication of the staff who run them. Great service! Also the housekeepers always kept us well supplied with clean towels, bath mats etc. and when we phoned for anything it was there in no time at all. It was great to see a lot of the gardeners are still there and keeping the grounds in great condition. In short everyone deserves the greatest thanks for our wonderful holiday. THANK YOU!!!

Amazing again!!

08 Jun 2023 | 490hansp

We booked Lux Grand Gaube for the second time on an overnight stay basis for a 15 member group of colleagues.. LGG hosted our team building last year and the team decided to renew the experience within Lux Grand Gaube for a second time following the amazing stay we had last.. Yet again we had a memorable stay which is testament to the Hotel's and its staff consistency and service excellence as regards to hospitality, staff, F&B, accommodation, etc... Special thanks to Hansley Marday, the Front office manager, who ensured a quality service at all times; Naresh and Rupesh who were yet again very helpful and the Bodrum Blue Team for the great Turkish lunch and service!!!..

Hands down the best resort we have ever been to!

08 Jun 2023 | 761rabian

My husband and i arrived on the 29th May and stayed for 7 nights. Honestly, this was hands down the best resort we have ever stayed at, and we travel a lot. The all inclusive was amazing and being able to choose where to eat from a selection of restaurants was always exciting as we were always trying something new. We did not have a single negative thing to say, all the staff were amazing and attentive to little details to always ensure we were made comfortable. Elena was great and introduced us into the hotel upon arrival and we let her know we were celebrating our anniversary. She then gave us a package of gifts, which included a couples massage at the spa, a cocktail making session, romantic dinner by the pool as well as various other things. This made our trip even more special. The staff at the spa were lovely and welcoming and we left feeling very relaxed and bliss. Christopher at the front desk was also exceptionally helpful and ensured we were always well looked after and helped my husband whenever he had any questions such as with excursions etc. The kitchen and catering staff in the main restaurant were just brilliant. I cannot remember specific names but literally everyone was so kind and helpful at all times. If we ever wanted something that was not on the menu, they always made sure they accommodated us. They also helped with my creme brulee addiction haha which i would have every single night and absolutely loved that it was always freshly made. The beach was always clean and as soon as we arrived, ths staff would immediately bring us towels and give us a warm welcome. The adult beach was my favourite peaceful spot to relax with a book and sip on mocktails. The housekeeping staff were always brilliant and made sure to have our room sparkling clean every time! One man in particular (again im sorry i cannot remember his name) always organised my toiletries and hair essentials for me having them beautifully placed which would always make my day! The coffee shop staff were also always welcoming and made us the best green tea's and coffee's! If you are considering booking this hotel, don't think twice! We have been to the top of the range resorts in the Maldives, Thailand, Dubai etc and this literally was on our top ranking by day 1. I would highly recommend the all inclusive package as we were so relaxed at the thought of getting anything and literally any time. Our family and friends are already planning their visits after seeing our pictures and hearing about it all. Thankyou so much to everyone at Lux Grand Gaube for giving us a beautiful experience with beautiful memories. Saud and Rabia (room 3229)

Lux Grande Gaube - a fabulous hotel!

09 Jun 2023 | 880jjamo

Returning to this beautiful island after many years and this hotel did not disappoint. Amazing setting, fabulous restaurants and the service was incredible. The staff in this hotel truly made our trip so so special. I have to mention certain individuals who really went above and beyond to make this holiday so special: Bodrum Blue - YASSER, you treated us with utmost respect and made me laugh a lot Beach Rouge - PURGUN made us feel so welcome and the service was incredible. We also loved your humour. NUND - nothing was a problem and always obliging. Creole Smokehouse - ASHWAN is a total legend and every visit provided us with an amazing service and experience. Thank you Bar Staff - Yoven always delivered with a smile and a joke. Many thanks for looking after us and keeping us watered! Beach Staff - REEDOO, SURAJ & HEMANT the best beach team we have ever had the pleasure to meet and looked after us so well. Always smiling, nothing is too much. Huge thanks to you all. Finally, to the management of the hotel, without your amazing and well trained staff, our holiday would not have been as good as it was!

The most incredible stay from start to finish.

Sure, the beaches are beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the pools are stunning, the rooms are gorgeous, the food is impeccable... But what really made our stay at Lux Grand Gaube was the amazing staff, who genuinely made every moment and every interaction feel special. A few members of staff stood out to us. Firstly, the gentle, excellent Diren at Palm Court. I will sorely miss not being greeted by his wonderful smile and warm handshake at breakfast. He made us feel like old friends and the most treasured guests. We can't thank him enough. Secondly, lovely Vinay. You are such a wonderful young man, wishing you so much luck on your return to India to continue your studies. Ashwan at Creole Smokehouse. Your smiles, calm service and air of kindness was very much appreciated. There was also two lovely lads as Valet/Doormen, who I didn't catch the names of, but they gave us three lovely bracelets for our children and again, made us feel like the most special guests in the world. We were also welcomed by a lovely lady on Reception (I didn't fully catch her name, it began with S... Shikki perhaps?) who was just a joy to deal with. Thank you to the incredible team at LGG for the most wonderful holiday celebrating our 10 th Wedding anniversary. All the special touches were very much appreciated. Thank you for making us feel like rockstars! We can't wait to come back one day. Laura and Pete Land x

Beautiful Lux Grand Gaube

10 Jun 2023 | ReineClaudeParis

It was a wonderful month for us. Usually we go to Lux Bellemare but in 2023 it was closed for a few months so we chose Luc Grand Gaube. In Lux Grand Gaube, the hotel site has wonderful landscape and impressive tropical vegetation where you can do long and relaxing walks either along the beaches or in its mangrove part with the bayan trees. They even have a bar in the trees. Their section in front of the "balachois" offers a beautiful spot to watch the astonishing sunrises and in the evening, it is great to watch also the sunset at their Bodrum Restaurant. They also have a peaceful "adult only" area with an isolated beach, bars, restaurant and swimming pool. Our favorite sport is sailing and we had the happiness to discover their nautical centre with high quality equipment and great people like Rakesh and Lindsay taking care of the customers in this center. The sailing instructors( Ludovic, Oliver, Dylan, Janson) have real great teaching techniques and are very concerned about our safety and satisfaction. They deserve a 100% rating. The sport activities are so numerous that we cannot mention all of them ( tennis courts, gym, musculation, golf etc). For fitness training we appreciated Patrick who knows the best movements adapted to our level. Small seaplanes are based on the hotel's site and well maintained in a large hangar. And among non sport activities, a Junk Art corner hidden in the banyan trees is highly interesting for creative tourists as well as the cinematographic programs. The evening shows are a must to see (and participate to the Sega dance!) The gastronomic aspect is very important for us and their breakfast offers almost anything you can wish. Local and exotic fruits are delicious, carefully prepared by Marie who is brave enough to work in a cold space where you can also find fresh products such as meat, cheese, juices, smoked fish or fresh vegetables.Other sections of the breakfast area (Palm Court) include the big english breakfast section, the pancakes and eggs sections where Rosino , Poona, Marie-Ange and their colleagues wellcome you with smile and efficiency.Their breakfast section also include a vast choice of cereals, asian and indian foods, ice creams, pastries from the famous Chief Galette, delicious home made breads. The smiling Delores, Jay, Jean-Paul, Vik, Ramsamy will make this first part of the day a great moment! Going to the bar or ordering a cocktail is a must in the country where high quality rums are produced and the creative barman Bhawoo made us discover new flavours. Vishnu is responsible for the Gin Corner near the nautical center and has a large selection of gins. Nitin , Anoosh, Saif, Kushmal, Adesh et Dominique are also friendly and dedicated barmen just to mention a few of them. There is also a French Kiss beach bar and a bar in a banyan tree where Anadiel organises rum degustations. Meals in the different restaurants : Beach Rouge, Bodrum, Inti, Creole Smokehouse are made with high quality products very often local products and are perfectly cooked and highly professionally created. s Diren, Ravi, David, Dughest, Praveshg, Adesh, Nun and their colleagues made our meals moments of happiness. Meats, fishes, seafood are among the best. There are also dishes for vegetarian and vegans but we cannot comment since we do not eat this kind of food but they looked nice. The wine cellar offers an excellent choice of wines and champagne. Room service is very quick and Tina always answered our requests with her charming voice. Going to the coffee corner Lux was a must and we enjoyed the baristas Sylvano, Poona and Nuha . My husband's birthday has been marvellously organised in a quiet isolated section of the beach by Manuja and the Chief Deepuck has been vey creative. It was better than what we can enjoy in a great parisien palace. And the pastry master Pascal Galette prepared an extraordinary birthday cake. We also appreciated the gift in the "sea bottle", the ice cream corner located in a stretched "mini Cooper" car on the beach. Chandini and Sucheeta took care of our junior suite and added personal touch to make us happy. Among the staff, Elvis, Reena,Chica, Joyce, Ari,Roshan, Yvette, Lucina, Ravish, Kushmal and many other always showed smile and efficiency to satisfy us.We also enjoyed discussing with Jonathan, Vinesh, Anasthasia who listened carefully to our wishes. I have to mention the great work of the Nurse Ameena who saved saved my holiday when I had an old recurrent knee problem during this month in Lux Grand Gaube and helped me to stay active. To summarise, we spent a great month in Lux Grand Gaube, full of happiness and we will come back soon. All the staff deserves congratulations for their hospitality and professional work and the place is incredibly beautiful.

SUBLIME 2ND VISIT FOR 10TH ANNIVERSARY

11 Jun 2023 | S24h26

We visited this amazing hotel for our honeymoon and finally managed to return this year for our 10th anniversary. It was as wonderful as we remembered. Our Ocean view junior suite was fabulous and views spectacular, I have no idea how anyone can find fault with this place. Having been lucky enough to travel to many places, this is by far the best. Although the food, beach and facilities are wonderful, what makes it is the excellent staff who can never do enough for you. Elena remembered us from before!! She arranged a whole anniversary package for us of spa treatments, cocktail making, meals by the pool and more, all curtesy of the hotel . It's so worth going all inclusive as the food is fabulous, with plenty of choice and The Palm Court is the best main food area that we've experienced. Also the Inti restaurant, for which there is a charge is amazing, compliments to the very talented chef! However, as AI guests we didn't pay for drinks and had a 30% food discount. The evening entertainment is also great and varied. It's very hard to name staff who went above and beyond to make our holiday so perfect but Elena on front desk was a total star. At Inti, Oliver's wine tasting experience was divine and Dominique's cocktails were delicious, both guys do everything to suit your taste. Diren and Vinay in Palm Court who made our anniversary dinner so special, even requesting the band to play a special song for us. Sun, at the spa who always greeted us with a huge smile every day and remembered our names. The adults beach/ pool is stunning and so tranquil. It was never busy whilst we were there and is so well spread out that we often felt we had it all to ourselves. Many thanks to Saif and Kumer who looked after us there superbly. On our honeymoon we took 2 trips to Blue Bay - Ilse de des Coco (because we loved it so much). This beautiful little Island with it's boat trip for snorkelling, superb buffet lunch, all drinks (and plenty of them) plus the taxi trip there, is so reasonable (around £100 per person if you go by private taxi) . It was Ravi though, the host on the island, who made it so special for us. We decided to return for a day on this trip. The weather wasn't great but were amazed on arriving there to find Ravi was still there and he recognized us too! We were treated like royalty, it was so worth returning. We were so very sad to end this holiday and have come home determined to return within the next 2 years to this gorgeous hotel, beautiful island and wonderful people. Matthew and Sandra H

Amazing hospitality

It was an amazing experience at Lux Grand Gaube, it was the best weekend we had so far. We had the best staff team building. The front office manager Mr Hansley Marday excellent service/hospitality was hugely appreciated. I would confirm that these 2 days spent at your resort was fabulous. The turkish food at Bodrum was amazing, Yasser and team hospitality was very good. They were very helpful and quick service. The buffet for dinner and morning breakfast were flawless. Me and my team we loved the food and service. The rooms were clean and you guys did not leave anything for us to complain about. i plan to come back again for another round and i would recommend friends and families to choose your resort. Keep up the good job Hansley. Thank you and to the whole team as well.

Fantastic hotel and experience but unnecessarily pricey for some things

12 Jun 2023 | rjm2102

We have recently got back from a 10 day stay at Lux and overall, we loved it. Pros: - The hotel grounds and facilities are amazing. - The food is up there with the best I've had at any hotel. The buffet really is exceptional with lots of freshly cooked alternatives (and even a Naan bread oven!). The other restaurants were all nice (I preferred the buffet) and INTI (the paid for restaurant) was very nice and worth the extra money. - There are a lot of staff and they are always keen to help. A notable mention to Avi and Veer, around the pool, who made our days very comfortable by always being around to provide towel/drink/food. - There was a good band on every night to keep us entertained whilst having a drink. - The outdoor cinema was a great experience on the Tuesday evening. - The free use of the paddle boards, glass bottom boat etc. were a great perk - The ice cream stall was cool and reasonably priced (about £1.20 a scoop). Cons: - We went for half-board as my wife is pregnant and thus we figured it probably wasn't worth the extra £c140/day for the two of us to go all inclusive as only I was drinking (I'm not sure only one person in a room can do all inclusive!) and we aren't big lunch eaters. The prices for drinks are extortionate and leave a bit of a sour taste. For context, a small beer local draught beer (33cl) is about £7, whilst a large (50cl) is about £12. A protein smoothie in the morning (in the size of a coffee cup) was £12. A burger at BB's for lunch was something like £18. A coconut to drink was £5. Tap water with dinner every day is £3 (not a lot but again, unnecessary). You'll note when you look at the menus online that the prices have been omitted. - I asked if it was possible to get some cash out from the hotel to be told that they charge a 12% commission. I appreciate the hotel covering costs if they get charged a fee, but 12% seems excessive. This all feels unnecessarily expensive/greedy and the only real negative of our stay that prevents me giving five stars. I'm not sure these excessive charges really make a big difference to the bottom line of Lux (or if they do, they could be better hidden in HB/AI costs!). - Not really a con of the hotel, but there isn't a lot to do outside of the hotel that is nearby. We expected that when we booked, so weren't disappointed. We ventured out to Grand Bay market one day (it was pretty rubbish - just a load of fake designer clothes) and Goodlands market another day (a bit better but still not much from Mauritius - more imports from India and Thailand). We were tempted to go to Port Louis market but were advised against it as being very similar to Grand Bay. All-in-all, I would go back to Lux Grand Graube, but with my eyes wide open as to the costs of drinks/lunches. I appreciate the easy comeback is to say that they offer the All Inclusive option, but that wasn't really a viable option for us on this occasion!

5 stars hotel

The room was very pleasant, cozy and clean. The meals were excellent and professionally created - specially lunch at Bodrum blue and Beach rouge. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was varied and flawless. The hotel staffs have been friendly, patient and helpful. The glass bottom boat was amazing. This was my 2nd time staying in LUX Grand Gaube. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends/family. Many thanks to Mr Hansley Murday for the excellent hospitality.

Sun, Sea and Superb Service!

14 Jun 2023 | edkX888JF

From the first moment I set foot in the hotel to the last day I departed I was made to feel very welcome during my stay. The hotel provided a consistently high standard of service (hotel rooms, restaurants, front of house, entertainment staff, etc.). Thus making it a worthwhile and memorable stay for myself. If anyone wants to feel accommodated, comfortable whilst taking in all the fantastic sites Mauritius has to offer then I would highly recommend staying at the Lux Grand Gaube. I’ll be back in 2024!

BB’s Burger Bar, I challenge you to get a better Burger on Mauritius!!

14 Jun 2023 | davetE3820PI

Whilst this hotel is absolutely fantastic I wanted to mention BB’s the Burger Bar, is was fantastic. Its location is tucked away amongst the banyan trees and is a quiet and Peaceful area in the shade. The Menus is simple but perfect for an afternoon snack, and if you like a Burger I challenge you to get a better burger on the island. The staff there, as with anywhere else in Lux Grand Gaube are excellent, friendly, efficient and can’t do enough for you. I would particularly like to mention Anjanam, she was fantastic. From the moment we first turned up there, she was great and made us feel right at home. She was pleasant, friendly and once she found out it was my wife’s Birthday the next day, she really went above and beyond. She asked us to please go back there the following day at 13.00 but next door to the Creole Smoke House as the Burger Bar was shut. We done as she asked and she had set up a private Lunch up in the tree house for just the two of us, and decorated the table Beautifully and waited on us hand and foot. Nothing was too much!!!! I’m a Nut Shell a great place, in a great location to get a Snack for Lunch, with great Staff, especially out hostess with the mostest Anjanam, Thank you!!

Glorious stay!

Wonderful hotel - absolutely beautiful with warm and courteous service throughout. Right on the beach and they kindly upgraded us to deluxe suites which was very much appreciated. The staff in the restaurants were lovely too - Palm Court’s Indian cuisine team were exceptional - especially Aarti. We loved the humour and kindness at Beach Rouge - Puragan and Nand were welcoming and kind throughout even eating up a romantic and celebratory champagne table at the seaside for my parents anniversary. Maria in the Celebrations team also tried to help organise various celebratory treats! The housekeeping staff really tried to keep everything clean. Location is a little far out from touristy spots but we loved the quiet opportunity to relax and you’re never too far away from anything in Mauritius! Overall a delightful stay! Thank you!

Amazing holiday!!!!

14 Jun 2023 | molyn2018

As a couple we have spent 11 nights at the lux grande gaube, this resort is 5 star luxury. We were supposed to stay here in 2020 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary but due to covid had to cancel. At last we were able to go, and were not disappointed, this hotel is amazing!!!. We stayed in a ocean view junior suite with the treat of being yards away from the beach. The hotel has high standards but what stands out is the excellent service care and commitment of all the staff, who are so warm and friendly who go over and above to make your holiday special. The palm court buffet restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes, BBs delicious burgers, Bodrum blue Turkish restaurant. All of which were able cater for my request for gluten free as a coeliac. The chefs were amazing, they showed me around the buffet advising what was gluten free as well as preparing gluten free dishes for me. I was looked after really well. A big thankyou to all the staff who work so hard, we are so sorry we unable to remember everyone's name but chef Raman, especially who communicated with other chefs and waiters to ensure we had a good experience. Also chef Deepak, and the chef (with the red hat) at Creole restaurant who made my delicious pineapple and coconut dessert and the best curry I've ever tasted. This Creole restaurant is magical within the backdrop of the banyan trees. Not forgetting BBs burger bar who provided me with delicious gluten free burgers. It was lovely to be able to eat what my husband was eating. Other staff that we can remember, are Elena on the front desk, Waiters Doorgha (very funny man),Ashwan, Martin , Jinella( our room cleaner) always smiling. The 'man with the hat'on the beach, couldn't do enough for us. Also the lovely smiling Salvon who kept the whole place pristine with his broom and discussing the weather each day with my husband as he worked lovely man. The location/beach is lovely, very relaxing with the choice of the main pool, main beach or the adult beach and pool near the banyan trees. Our holiday was so relaxing and memorable, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

If I could put 'Good' instead of 'Very Good' I would...

We recently stayed at LUX* Grand Gaube for 10 nights. I want to be as honest as possible so expectations are met. We booked the LUX* Grand Gaube as we stayed at the LUX* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives last year which was unbelievable. I believe this may have a slightly negative impact on our experience at the Grand Gaube. After 12hours + travel, we were blown away at the entrance of the hotel. It is simply stunning. Staff welcoming and attentive, my only gripe was check-in was slow, around 45 minutes and we didn't arrive at a particularly busy time. We were surprised to find our room would be ready earlier than the 3pm check-in time. The room itself (Superior Room) was lovely. A beachy rustic feel with a lovely balcony overlooking the bay area. I want to start with how the resort is absolutely beautiful, the staff are so friendly, it is really good for such a chill out holiday, entertainment was good each night, outdoor cinema was good, the spa is amazing! Overall, the resort is fantastic. Food Poisoning Incident / Room Hygiene: Our first day we had eaten at Beach Rouge for lunch and the Palm Court buffet on the night. Unfortunately, this evening in the early hours, my partner was experiencing symptoms of food poisoning which resulted in an urgent 1:30am call to housekeeping to help with the clean up (I will spare the details). Two lovely gentlemen arrived (Arvind & Steeven) and got on with it, they cleaned up the bathroom area and left us to it. What followed the next couple of days upsets me the most. My partner was too unwell to leave the room the next morning, so housekeeping came and changed the towels only. He left the room approx. early afternoon and I had already warned reception that morning that the bathroom would require a deep clean of some sort. I then rang housekeeping when my partner had left the room to request a clean. I got back to the room approx. 4pm to find no clean had taken place. I then went to reception to complain, the stench of the room is one thing but the cleanliness itself was another. We had ants all over the bathroom floor. I am under no impression it should be the staff who are responsible for cleaning up vomit, I did offer to clean myself if the products were provided which they insisted they would not allow to happen (very polite!) but it took us three times to eventually get housekeeping to arrive, and they arrived with spray and a broom. Needless to say, this put me off completely. The room was never sufficiently cleaned, I would scrub it daily with towels, yet the remnants of vomit still remained. I hate to be graphic on here but for a 5* hotel, cleanliness should be at the forefront and I am bitterly disappointed the room was not up to standards after. I know cleaning is a matter of opinion to all, but it really did put us off. Plus, alongside the mirrors / general glassware being covered in smears the whole time we were there, I wouldn't say cleanliness was 5* standard. They asked if my partner needed to see a doctor, which was refused because we had sufficient medication but the hotel swept the food poisoning under the rug and we were not checked up on the rest of the stay. I did email guest relations whilst staying at the resort as I felt reception did not handle this efficiently, and we were completely ignored. Food: Is the all-inclusive package worth it? Yes if you are drinkers, no if not - yes if you like to eat lunch, no if not. I was surprised to see how much was NOT included in the all inclusive package, when we found out food such as lamb chops / salmon were not included, it made us think, should we have done the package? Totally understand lobster / high cuts of steak, but to us, that level of food should be included. Food is generally inconsistent across the board over the hotel. It is either fantastic or not good enough. Bodrum Blue - We visited here on our first full day/night at the resort and were bitterly disappointed. Poor service, average food. We had not had the best start at the resort and this had us worried for the rest of our stay, especially after how much this is hyped in the reviews. We re-visited for lunch during our stay and we felt much better. It is an absolute must, incredible views, much better food and service! Creole Smokehouse - it's ok, nothing spectacular. We waited over an hour for food, the servers were so friendly and kind, very apologetic but I wouldn't rush back. Maybe for a drink, as the setting is beautiful. BBs - really good snack place for lunch, lovely location. Bodrum Blue - We visited here on our first full day/night at the resort and were bitterly disappointed. Poor service, average food. We had not had the best start at the resort and this had us worried for the rest of our stay. We re-visited for lunch during our stay. It is an absolute must, incredible views, much better food and service! Palm Court Buffet - definitely our favourite. So many options, it's incredible. Beach Rouge - It has a better lunch menu than dinner menu and it's a bit confusing, not sure if its an italian feel or chinese / pan-asian feel? Food menu, for us, was lacking in the evening. INTI - One of our favourite meals of the holiday, not included in the AI package, but 30% off and drinks included, it's a no brainer. Drinks - inconsistent across the resort, cocktails are nothing spectacular, wine is good but I overheard others saying how pricey it was, we had the AI package so wasn't paying much attention. Water stations all over the resort to keep you hydrated. Rum Tasting: Anadiel is an absolute gem. The rum tasting experience was great. It was only the two of us which was great and intimate and Anadiel felt like a long life friend, very knowledgeable and kind. Not included in the AI package but not too expensive either and if you find a hidden bottle on the resort, you can win one! Spa: 45 minutes a day included in your stay, all you need to do is book daily. The spa itself is stunning, with use of plunge pool, sauna and steam room which was great on a rainy day. (Only rained for half a day in our whole stay). I had an Indian Head Massage which was great, it is overpriced but it is always the way at hotels. Our Last Night: We had booked Beach Rouge for the second time for dinner as we had heavy rain on the evening of our initial visit, so we thought it would be nice to have dinner in the beach setting. The service is fantastic and food just as good, what we didn't expect is to be verbally abused by guest who was extremely drunk. He had been hostile towards his own family during the evening and we could see he was getting more drunk as the night went on. He then took it upon himself to disturb us during our meal, which we believe was because we were directly in his view and then went on to insult us further at the end of our meal, to the point where I had to say something and cause a small scene. I was disappointed to find out that after we had left and stood up for ourselves, he was not instantly removed by security and continued to drink for a short while. The next morning, which was our last morning at the resort, the staff at breakfast were over accommodating the issue, apologising to us 3/4 times greeting us by name, what a shame that it takes a negative event to be recognised at a 5* hotel and receive such good service. We did not encounter such good service the rest of the stay. Overall, I would return to a LUX* but I do not think Grand Gaube would be top of our list. I am not sure if we were too spoilt at LUX* South Ari Atoll (Maldives) or whether the start of our holiday and the last night of our holiday, ruined the overall experience. I never really leave a resort wanting to get home, but 10 nights was enough for us, the food is repetitive across the board. I would probably recommend a 7 day stay here.

Fantastic stay and allergy was well catered for!

16 Jun 2023 | L3946XZsuzanneg

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the LUX Grand Gaube! We are a family of 3 (2 adults and a 4 year old) and there was plenty to keep us all entertained. We were welcomed with a warm smile from Elena (concierge) who continued to help us with anything we needed throughout our stay and greeted our daughter by name every morning! The hotel not only looks impressive but was always clean and tidy. Our housekeeper Jenila took great care of our room and was always smiling and friendly :-) The food in all the restaurants was outstanding, there is so much choice we worked our way through the menus during our 9 night stay and never got bored! Our daughter has a milk allergy so we were a bit nervous as this was the first holiday where we couldn’t bring all her food with us. We needn’t have worried! The chefs were clued up and put our minds at rest the moment we arrived when the Executive Chef David explained everything personally. Every time we visited the buffet the chef would show us round and explain what she could/couldn’t have. They also prepared separate food for her including a new dessert every night! They even sourced sausages especially for her (as all theirs contained milk). We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you’re an allergy sufferer (or if you’re not!). I also just wanted to shout out to Yvette! I attended her very first Aquafit session which was really fun as well as being a decent workout! To Davesh who took the time every morning to look at the fish with our daughter. To Mario for the hilarious jokes and riddles! And to Diren for making such an effort throughout our stay to make our daughter laugh! There were so many other amazing staff, no space to name them all! This was our 2nd LUX stay (first was at Belle Mare) and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay again ourselves (hopefully one day!)

A real 5 star experience!!!

17 Jun 2023 | NeoMops

Lux is incredible. From arrival to departure there was nothing not catered for. It was my husbands birthday and they sure did make us feel special. The rooms are great , the resort is great . The water sports are amazing and best part they are free. This resort Truly lives up to its pictures and hype. Our highlight was the staff , my goodness there’s a gentle man called Yovan at the main bar: what a gent!! I’ve never met anyone greater at his job and he will definitely be the reason we come back. Please do give him a bonus:) Shout out to David from Inti and the young Bag guy. Also amazing. I would just encourage anyone here to book all inclusive or full board as paying for the meals cash is a bit on the pricey side. Otherwise an AMAZING hotel!!

Amazingly amazing

This was my 2nd stay at Lux Grand Gaube. Just like the 1st time great service and excellent food, especially at Bodrum Blue. Amazing view from the glass bottom boat. Special thanks to Hansley for making our stay memorable. Will surely be back.

Best holiday

17 Jun 2023 | O1884ZLcatherinet

Went to Lux Grande Gaube over May/June half term. We had the most fabulous time and we are still dreaming of it/ missing it three weeks later! We stayed in one of the Ocean villas. We splurged to celebrate special birthdays. If you can, I wholly recommend the villas (there are two 100 sq feet ones). You have a living area, two bedrooms with enormous comfy beds (we slept so well), a shower room, an enormous bathroom with shower, outside bath and twin sinks, separate wc, a huge dressing room and your own decked and garden area with a small pool, table, comfy chairs and sun loungers - all facing the beautiful sea. You also get 24 hr butler service. Huge thank you and shout out to our butlers Akshay and Rupesh who made us feel extra special and looked after us and the villa. They were amazing and elevated an already wonderful holiday. Definitely go all- inclusive. The restaurants are beautiful and the food is great. Our fussy children (13 and 11yrs) were able to eat what they wanted - mostly pasta from the kids menu and get a double size portion as they they eat plenty! They also loved the best milkshakes we have ever had. Definitely recommend the strawberry and Oreo in particular. I’m vegetarian and there was plenty for me to choose from. My husband loved the fresh fish and also the burgers from the Burger shack. The water sports are brilliant. You can kayak, SUP, pedallo and water-ski as often as you like. Water skiing is super hard but after quite a few attempts on my part we all managed it and it was a huge highlight. There was also sailing and windsurfing on offer. There was a glass bottom boat trip and snorkelling trip included which was great apart from the sea at that time of year is a bit cloudy in that area from wind kicking up the sand (apparently October is the best time for crystal clear water there). Also the reef is much depleted. One of our snorkels had a hole in it so maybe ask them to grab an extra one just in case. We organised (through our butler) a fabulous speed boat trip to swim with turtles (truly awesome experience) and the water was beautiful and clear further out. Perhaps organise trips through the hotel though as we had to exchange money through the hotel (twice - as you can only get a certain amount out a day) so ended up paying a fair bit more in exchange charges. However we had the best experience on the trip so was absolutely worth it. We had sandwiches from the hotel and drinks included (the rum is amazing). The resort felt v luxurious. It wasn’t too busy, there was lots of staff on hand, mostly very well trained. The beach is just gorgeous and always beds available. The lovely man who sorts out your towels (and cleans your sunglasses) was super kind and friendly and found beach toys for my youngest to play with. Loved that they had water stations on the beach with ice cold water (and flavoured with orange or grapefruit) to eliminate need for plastic bottles. And in general felt very eco friendly. No plastic disposable items that I could see anywhere. Oh and ice-cream (many, many flavours) on the beach every day. The infinity pool area where you have breakfast is beautiful (with a pianist playing every morning) and nearly all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The weather was perfect temp (28 C) but it had rained before we got there. All in all we had the best holiday we’ve ever had. Just need to save to go back!

My honeymoon visit

18 Jun 2023 | G6551ISmohammedm

First night in the hotel and already hate it. Unfortunately nice facility but bad guest care. At first, we went to the main bar to have lunch (after lunch time, because we checked in late) the food took 40 minutes to arrive, staff doesn’t even smile so you feel welcomed as a guest. Second, some items we’re missing from the mini bar, no one informed us that they are out of stock, so I needed to contact them to confirm why I have items in the menu but not in the mini bar. Finally, we order a cheeseburger, the fries were not new (reheated and oily ) after we called them , they brought a better fries. Bathroom towels should have been replaced, am not sure if they were or weren’t. However, they are dirty. When we were checking in, the receptionist told us to WhatsApp her to take us in a tour , and we are at the end of our second day , and no response to our massage yet. How professional

Afrasia TSH team building 2023

19 Jun 2023 | vedishj

The Treasury Team from Afrasia bank organised  the annual team building session at Luxe Grand Gaube as from 02/06/2023 to 03/06/2023 and it was, hands down, one of the best week-end away session that I had the privilege to experience. First things first, our private villa room number (8888) was somehow giving us a positive vibe and proved to be our lucky charm :D. We had our own pool and private access to the beach. The villa had all (and i mean it) the required amenities  ranging from the prosecco bottles to the comfort of the  outside bathtub with a magnificent view of the mountain and sea. It was so soothing just to sit and slowly getting lost in a space where time did not matter. On the same note, we also had the occasion to watch the FA cup final and despite the tensions looming till the end of the final whistle, we did not really feel sad in spite of our team losing as the night was still young and still had plenty of bottles of beer to finish. Naresh was more than a gentleman assisting and proposing best drinks to have a unforgettable night.   We had our team lunch at Bodrum Blue and we were transported to Turkey with the delicious food from start to finish. Kudos to the team where to providing us specifics about the food and accommodating for each and every request.   Last but not the least, I want to say a big thank you to Hansley who was an amazing host by organising this stay and making all the required effort to ensure that our stay would be memorable and something to brag about (hehe). In other words, he paved the way to create core memories and in some years, our stay would still be part of our conversations. On this jolly note, i would 100 % recommend to come and have a stress-free end at luxe Grand Gaube.

ABL Team building - wonderful second time

It has been an amazing second consecutive year at the hotel. From start to end, the staffs were friendly and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great variety of foods. The night show was really nice with a good singer. We had the villa again with clean and luminous rooms, and with such a great Seaview. Many thanks again to Hansley M and Team.

5* luxury

19 Jun 2023 | Nanalilia

This was our 3rd stay at the Lux Grand Gaube and it definitely won’t be our last. We stayed in a Wellness deluxe room and once again we had lovely Jayshree who cleaned our room thoroughly as well as making us some beautiful towel decorations. The views from these rooms are breathtaking. We enjoyed spending time on the beaches, the main one where we were looked after by Redoo and the adults only one by the Banyon again well looked after. It’s in this area that they hold the outside cinema which is a nice way of spending the evening along with popcorn. In fact every aspect of this hotel is amazing. The resort in itself is just outstanding. But it’s the staff that give it the wow factor. We were once again looked after by Chef Ramen and Diren, too many touching moments to mention. Nitisha and all the participants for our wonderful surprise, which made such a beautiful and unforgettable day. Avi, Veer and Amit who looked after us by the main pool. Vidhi for her smiles. In fact every member of staff that we came into contact with deserves a mention. We enjoyed all the a la cartes especially the Beach Rouge, and the buffet is the best buffet we’ve encountered. Even on our departure we were treated like royalty! If you’re thinking of coming to Mauritius then I recommend this hotel and if you have any mobility issues this hotel certainly caters for those who use a wheelchair/mobility scooter. Can’t wait to return to our second home!

The BEST honeymoon

19 Jun 2023 | J9271EZkateh

Wow wow wow! We came here for our honeymoon the middle of May 2023. What an experience. The best place we have ever stayed. The rooms were just totally insane, the restaurants were fabulous. The cute little details in our room just made is so perfect. We got lots of benefits been on the honeymoon package which was a nice edition to the holiday. The beach for sure was the best place, and that is all down to one person, Reedoo, oh my goodness, what a guy. He made our whole honeymoon beyond special, the level of service and detail from him, is indescribable. The hotel is SO SO lucky to have him. And for that, all the staff, the staff are the reason why we will be returning in the next couple of years. Well and truly a magical experience. Thank you x

Nice facility, so much free activities to do on the beach . Snorkeling was the best. The Manager, Anastasia, was really nice and cooperative. At the same time, Yosra, one of the receptionists, was helpful, supportive, and made our stay easy and nice.

Almost but not quite...

20 Jun 2023 | Wayne-68-London

My partner and I spent a relaxing, all-inclusive week at the Lux Grande Gaube. Have had a few days back at home to reflect on my review and whilst enchanted by the staff and also by the surroundings, we feel a little underwhelmed by some of the service points based on what we experienced. Both my partner and I have travelled extensively both Corporately and Privately and with that comes understanding the benchmarks of what we believe to be excellent verses very good service. I would have loved to have visited this hotel pre-COVID times because I feel a business model change has driven this into something that takes it away from its original authenticity and left me with a feeling that if not managed this could end up as a Caribbean Sandals equivalent, which would be a disaster. The hotel grounds are very well thought out and amazingly well kept and the split between catering for families and adults a welcome touch. We booked a Wellness room and as per previous reviews the views are outstanding and very picturesque. The room is well thought out and location to the Banyan adult area ideal for the purpose of our break away, service in this area from Kumar was exemplary, attentive and considerate. Towels, hydration station always topped up, knowledge of trips and always with a 1st thing in the morning smile. The Wellness package included a 45mins massage which we had in a shared room and was great. I can only imagine the explosion of colour throughout the grounds when the summer season is in full flow, the grounds team efforts can be seen in how well kept the grounds are. They also need a mention with the clearing of the seaweed which is a thankless task at times. Wellness packaged includes segregated rooms, spa options, access to all sports facilities and then in the LUX Café the option for wellness shakes… which have the dreaded * next to then. There is an extensive list of included AI items then on the wellness side of the board an equally extensive list at an additional cost… that does make sense from a business point of view to recoup monies and shows savvy, as most wellness focused individuals use protein drinks, etc to supplement lifestyles and wouldn’t necessarily bring with them but I’d challenge whether a 1 per day AI included item being a nice small addition would bust the profit line. The Sports facilities are very, very good and the gym, whilst small, had new and well kept equipment and was a welcome alternative to bum on sunbed. The biggest challenge I have relates to the food / restaurants… my partner and I ethnicity backgrounds include Morocco Jew, Italian, Ceylonese and English so quite diverse and food plays a very significant part in our family lives. That said, and being enthused by the excellent reviews, we had reasonably high expectations. Sadly, those expectations failed to materialise… We noted on a previous review that the food was described as ‘bland’ and concur with that. Each restaurant had a quirk and that took away from the enjoyment of eating there… Bodrum Blue… Turkish food is quality based on simplicity. Good quality produce cooked with spices and herbs to supplement the quality of the produce. Our 1st meal ended up with a catch of the day seared with an overcooked crust on both sides that made it almost inedible. Hunger got the better of me because of the previous day 12 hour flight. My partner didn’t fair much better, the Meze starter was wonderful and fresh, the lamb kofte which the menu did state was a mixture of beef & lamb, was obviously beef biased and too tightly packed and lacked any significant herbs / spice to take it off the bland levels. We attempted a 2nd lunch time visit and the flank of beef not cooked enough and cut incorrectly and as a result extremely chewy. One attempted chew through and that was respectfully moved to one side… we shared our feedback on this restaurant and the team were very accommodating and open to conversation, we learned that the Turkish chef was on holiday and that would go some way to understand the quality assurance… still not good though. Why go to Mauritius to have Turkish food..? is something I found asking myself and that Sandals like concept of having an Italian or Turkish or a Japanese food offering. Beach Rouge is ok… standard menu, lacked depth of flavour on some of the dishes we ordered and I don’t know if that is where they try to cater for the diverse nature of the hotel occupants by being a little more cautious. Creole Smokehouse in the Banyan area was a disappointment, the spare ribs were very fatty and didn’t feel authentically smoked, the sauce was certainly punchy but it all tasted very manufactured. BB in the Banyan area was ok… the 1st burger loaded with so much sauce that each bite almost saw a burger flying across the table and that was the only overriding flavour, 2nd attempt we requested no sauce and got what we wanted a decent burger. The real star is the buffet… all food tastes are catered for and where we see some authenticity with a selection of curries, rice dishes, deserts both hot & cold, wok station, pasta station, breads galore… the whole area is spacious and the contained area for the breakfast fruits, cold meats, cheeses / evening salads etc is a very well thought out area to avoid the usual issues of fly’s and such like. Supported by wonderful staff that are welcoming and friendly, special mention to Diren for his charm, measured manner and service, top notch and also for arranging a Butter Chicken dish that was sublime. Thank you also to Rishi for his pleasant, welcoming smile and his engaging nature. Cost of wines are the usual 4 / 5 times higher cost than that from region… understandable with the distances between France / Italy as an example but that would exemplify the drive to make profits… that business model change, which I did talk about to Jonathan about and he did confirm that there has been a change. The Palm Court area is a wonderful space and the bar and seating area relaxed and comfortable… Yoven, was an absolute star behind the bar. Attentive, super chilled, knows his craft and is what you look for from someone behind the bar… he catered for my straight rum & ice quirk, thank you. We were all-inclusive but this very weird approach to us signing for everything really not eco-friendly, the amount of paper receipts these guys produce must add up at the end of the fiscal year. Bonkers approach to identifying who has what and when. Finally… The people make this place and also it’s surroundings, would I visit again..? Yes, I probably would if coming this area again. I sincerely hope the quest for revenue and the push if you want additional quality you have to pay for it to lessen a little. I appreciate you pay for what you get but in my humble opinion the Sandals business model only caters for one market, some authenticity has to remain, with its people retention, the food and its feel. Thank you to those that listened and engaged when we were asked for our feedback…

The resort is good, it has a lot of free beach activities to do thru the day, and some nice restaurants on the pool and the sea. The manager,Anastasia , was so cooperative and helpful with a good attitude. However, Yosra, the receptionist is another story. She was so welcoming with a great smile, Arabic talker, so cooperative with great attitude. She helped us reserve a special romantic dinner which was so great from all perspectives. I would recommend the resort to be visited and ask for Yosra.

Warm and welcoming

22 Jun 2023 | Hulahoop333

The other reviews accurately describe the hotel and amenities and whilst the resort is becoming known as the most "instagrammable" that's not what makes this place special. It's some of the staff who go over and above regular hospitality. If you remove them, yes it would still be exceptionally beautiful and look great on Instagram, but not warm and welcoming as it currently is! We have just arrived home after a wonderful week away as our first family holiday with an 8 month old. Was very nervous about the food she would be able to eat as we have been weaning for a couple of months and discovered she likes very flavorful food so normal purees and mashes do not go down well. They have a children's menu where you can mix and match proteins and veg which would be great for other babies. Ashveena helped us create a menu for her on our first day and EVERYTHING we asked for was made especially for our baby during the week. I immediately relaxed! Thanks to the chefs for some very tasty food and thanks to Diren, Rishi and Ashwin who always made us feel welcome, checked on our baby's food as soon as we came to sit down, played with her to keep her entertained and were excellent hosts!! Janila our housekeeper was fantastic at working around baby's nap times and just a pleasant person to have around in the morning! Even for her day off she left a handover note for her team explaining when our baby sleeps and when the best time to come in was. Definitely worth mentioning others who made our stay welcoming: Veer and Reedoo at the pool and beach, Yasir, Madhvi, and Manuja at dinner time. Yosra on reception and smiley Davesh in his golf cart!! Thanks for making our first family holiday a very memorable one.

Amazing staff, great vibe, amazing design!

LUX Grand Gaube: - [ ] One of the best resorts we’ve ever been to. The whole vibe is amazing, staff are so professional and courteous and helpful. - [ ] They made our 10th anniversary very special and offered us lots of options to celebrate like a special breakfast by the pool with complementary drinks, special setting in our room that accommodates our diet restrictions on gluten free dairy free and alcohol free as well. The chef is by far one of the best! I rarely taste gluten/lacto free food that is this delicious! - [ ] We booked the jetty area where they usually make snorkeling trips, they did an amazing table setting with decorations and made us a custom cake that is also gluten and lacto free. It was a magical experience as we were surrounded by sea views all around and it was private and secluded. - [ ] We did have an unfortunate event where there was an indian couple who went to our table in the middle of our photoshoot and messed up with our stuff and cake and were so rude when we told them politely that it is private. I don’t blame ppl with poor manners, but the hotel should ensure that such a thing doesn’t happen and that we are not interrupted or disturbed during our romantic anniversary sunset celebration. - [ ] However, the hotel were very courteous and did not charge us for the setting as the cake and the whole thing was ruined by the indian couple. Instead, they make us a new cake and served it after our booked dinner at the Bodrum Blue. - [ ] Our 10th anniversary couldn’t be better or more romantic or perfect all thanks to LUX Grand Gaube and the amazing staff. Shoutout to the amazing photographer Raj!!!!! I cannot say enough positive things about this guy: respectful, polite, professional, super talented, and so passionate about his job. - [ ] Yusra: none of this would’ve happened if it weren’t for you and your amazing dedication and planning. Yusra went the extra mile to ensure that our anniversary is memorable and special so thank you. - [ ] Bodrum blue is one of the best restaurants we’ve been to. The food was amazing, hats off to the chef! It was gluten free dairy free but he managed to make it super tasty. The vibe was great, surrounded by sea views. Shoutout to our man Yasser! He accommodated all our specific requests, made great suggestions of what we should have and he was very courteous and went out of his way to make our anniversary dinner extra special. - [ ] The whole resort and their staff were amazing, made us feel so welcome and were very helpful. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family and will be back one day.

A warm welcome that can melt one's heart in a hidden paradise Island

I couldn't have spent a better day with such a welcoming staff who were at all ears at every step.No matter what was the request they were ready to go the extra mile.I spent the whole day in a group and we were welcome by the chef David who is a great person, professional and dedicated to his job.I learn so much in such a short time. The most amazing part is that the place is super clean and the level of hygiene and care to prepare the food is amazingly great. All HACCP and sanitary precautions are taken very seriously. If anyone get to go around the kitchen you might stay there forever. The freshly made pastries melt in my mouth and the food is to die for. Whether you want a turkish , peruvian ,creole or european cuisine the chose is yours. I will definitely be coming back with family or on my honeymoon who knows... I hope you will try it ,really worth it . From a day to a week ,you will be coming back ....who knows we might meet.....

Amazing Hotel with the Best People who made it so special

25 Jun 2023 | LinTurner

We had the best 10 days at Lux Grand Gaube. From our arrival and check in with Anastajia who made us immediately feel so welcome and relaxed and told us everything we needed to know about the hotel. We immediately felt at home! We then went to the Palm Court restaurant for lunch whilst waiting for our room which was a Junior Suite. We were taken to room 3047 which was spacious and had the wow factor with an amazing bathroom and beautiful views of the beach and the comfiest bed ever which provided the best nights sleep. The hotel has an air of complete tranquility and calm and I guarantee you will fall in love with it. Food is totally amazing. You have the Palm Court which is the main buffet restaurant with various foods to suit every taste and nationality. If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements nothing is too much trouble for the Chefs. Big thank you to the lovely ladies who made my omlettes in the morning. Evening meals were amazing here too with amazing service at our table from Diren and Vicky, they made sure my prosecco glass was never empty Bodrum Blue is a turkish restaurant with an amazing menu and views to match which is open for lunch and dinner and the food here is again amazing with a super relaxed atmosphere. Many thanks to Vidhi, Yasser and Dhiksha for your wonderful smiles and wonderful service and for my birthday cake ! BB's is the burger/hotdog shack and the outdoor picnic benches and tables make this a wonderful lunch experience. The burgers are amazing. Anjanam who looked after us found out it was my birthday during our stay and told us to come back on my birthday where she had prepared a wonderful table setting in the tree house with a beautiful meal and even brought me a cake with a candle at the end of our meal, nothing was too much to ask and I thank you Anjanam for this wonderful experience which I will never forget The Red Cafe situated on the beach is open for lunch and dinner and again has a lovely relaxing vibe with a lovely wide variety of choice on the menu with amazing views from the beaches edge Another delight is the Ice Cream which is served in the afternoon at ici. The daily changing flavours available are out of this world and a lovely afternoon treat Would definitely recommend you try as many flavours as you can during your stay as you will not be disappointed. Bodrum Blue Restaurant and Red Cafe are bookable for evening dining in advance and this was never too much trouble to be done by the staff Big thank you to Reedoo who was the Beach Manager and was always there to greet you every morning with the biggest of smiles and had such genuine enthusiasm and love for life. He set up our beds on the beach every morning with a cool box for us with iced refreshments and he too made my birthday memorable with a bottle of bubbly and a lovely creation of flowers in the sand in front of our beds . Another experience I will never forget Overall we just loved this hotel so much. The staff are all amazing in everything they do and they genuinely want you to have the best time whilst you are there. Everyone is so special here and so courteous and polite and to the management at the hotel I can honestly say I have never met such nice hotel staff on a holiday ever and we have travelled to many places. It is your staff that make this place so special. Every area of this hotel is beautiful with well thought out layout with lovely furnishings with a genuine smile every corner you turn from the staff. We definitely want to return to this wonderful place and have no hesitation in recommending this Mauritian delight Thank you to everyone

Perfect combination of luxury and relaxation?

25 Jun 2023 | jtnilsen

We had a 7-night stay in a Ocean Junior suite. It was a great room for a couple with a 10 year old child. The bathtub on the balacony was a favourite for the kid. Babita took great care of our room and it was always in great shape. The included watersports (sup, snorkling trip, etc) was also much appriciated. The breakfast was outstanding. We also had dinner in the buffet most days and was quite pleased with this. Maybe the best buffet-dinner we had and everything we tried tasted great. With the kid its much easier for us to have buffet-style dinner. I think the hotel has a perfect blend of luxury and keeping it relaxed. We have been to a lot of hotels & resorts around the world (including other places in Africa) and this comes highly recommended. Thank you for making our stay so great!

Southampton FC Conference

26 Jun 2023 | faruna1992

Our experience at LUX* Grand Gaube's Cinema Room was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel truly privileged to be there. We had the pleasure of attending a 2-day conference led by Ed Kilby, Football Development Coordinator at English Football Club Southampton FC, on the 12th and 13th of June. The venue itself was of impeccable quality, offering stunning surroundings that truly enhanced our workshop experience. The hotel's top-class facilities and breathtaking scenery added an extra touch to our experience. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to LUX* Grand Gaube for providing such a memorable experience.

A peaceful, tranquil, relaxing escape!!!!

25 Jun 2023 | davetE3820PI

From the moment we arrived and we were warmly greeted by reception, I knew we had found a gem. Anastajia booked us in and was so friendly and made us feel right at home immediately. She gave us our rooms and explained everything clearly about the hotel, and even went out of her way to get maps of the resort and write all the meal times for the bars and restaurants which was particularly helpful. We requested a ground floor room with easy access to all facilities for my parents as my mum has mobility issues, and the could have not been put in a better room with a better location. Just an example of the lengths the staff here go to look after you. When we got to our room ( a junior suite) I was delighted as it was fantastic, spotlessly clean and spacious, modern, had loads of wardrobe space and an amazing bathroom. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman that looked after our room, but he done great job and we never wanted for anything. They came around every night for the turndown service but we were usually there and said it’s was not necessary, but like all the staff there, they wanted to look after you and always ask if we had everything we wanted, or would like more fresh towels. They really can’t do enough. The Palm Court Bar/Restaurant is the main buffet Restaurant we you can go for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. It has a lovely layout overlooking the pool area and the beach. Our first morning we thought the tables right on the edge of the pool looked nice and sat at one, to be told that these tables are reserved for Honeymoon Couples, we immediately apologised and got up to move. The staff member would have nothing of it and insisted we stayed and enjoyed our first morning and looked after us. Every morning after and the evenings we ate in there, we were looked after by the cheeky Diren and Vicky/Barah Vikram who was a lovely man and both waited on us hand and foot and made sure we were ok and that our glasses were never empty. Vicky was always smiling and nothing was ever too much trouble and even went out of his way to look after our table when we had to sit in another area of the restaurant that he didn’t cover. Diren particularly looked after my parents, my Mum has mobility issues and has a walking stick, he would follow her and carry her plate back to the table, and most mornings went and got her breakfast. The Palm Court Bar is a nice setting looking out over the sea, the staff a friendly and attentive Particularly Shakina, she was great and was always smiling and cheeky. Shakina looked after us every night at the bar, and soon knew our tastes and had good knowledge of her alcohol, and recommended various drinks and cocktails to try. So much so, she created a cocktail for me to suit my tastes and we named it the Dave -Shakina Spritz. The Lux Cafe is a great place, located by reception, and is a nice place to sit and relax with a fantastic choice of hot and cold coffees, milkshakes and pastries. Nuha worked there most of the time we were there and was lovely, never happy when I took our empty cups back as she said that was her job as he was there to look after us. Nuha always insisted I never waited for my drinks and that I should go and sit down and she would bring them over. Jonathan was the other person who worked there, he was a cheeky chappy and was always happy to look after you. He even spotted my wife looking at a pastry, and when she walked off, put one in a bag and slipped it on my tray and said to give it to her as a surprise. These are just another example of the small things that make a big difference. The Beach is lovely, smallish, but very clean and looked after by the main man. Reedoo, the MAN IN THE HAT. Reedoo is nuts, a lovely man with a zest for life and font of all knowledge for the resort, and Mauritius in general. Once he knows where you prefer on the beach, every morning your towels are laid out and a cool box sat there waiting full of ice and your refreshments of choice inside. He always made a point of coming over every time he saw us to ensure we had what we needed. BB’s Burger bar is a fantastic, a small menu you but perfect for an afternoon snack. We went there a couple of times and were looked after by the lovely Anjanam, who went above and beyond for us. Straight away she found out it was my wife’s Birthday the following day and insisted we went back for 13.00 the next day. We did and she set up a beautifully decorated table up in a tree house for our own private birthday dinner. Anjanam waited on us the whole time and made it a birthday my wife will never forget, thank you Anjanam. Bodrum Blue is a Turkish themed restaurant with a lovely setting just over the waters edge. The food is lovely and the staff like everywhere are great. Dhiksha was so nice, she arranged a cake for my wife’s Birthday and looked after us there, we also saw her a breakfast, at the ice cream truck, basically she was everywhere. Yasser also worked at Bodrum Blue and was a lovely man, he also spent time in the palm court restaurant in the morning but was a Bodrum of a lunch time and at Dinner. He always made time to come over if he saw us and say hello, ask if we were OK and having a good holiday or if there was anything we needed. Vidhi also worked at Bodrum too, she was so nice and took care of us a couple of times we went there for lunch. Again nothing was too much for her, she recommended some of the dishes which were delicious and our glasses were never empty. If there is one negative, it’s the live music every night. It takes place at the Palm Court Restaurant/Bar, and it’s generally due to start around 20.30 most nights. The problem is, they usually start to set up and sound check about 20.00, and that is when most people go to dinner and the stage is right next to the restaurant. This makes it difficult to have conversation as it is so loud, particularly the drum kit, you can’t hear yourself think and spoils dinner there each night. It’s no better when you go to the bar area as that is the other side of the stage, even the bar staff who come to take your order have to crouch down to hear you. You have to wait until the acts finish at 22.30/23.00 before you are able to have any conversation without having to shout. Wouldn’t mind, but the acts are pretty terrible, I know they are local, but they seem to have the same song lists and sound like cruise ship karaoke. Nobody really seemed that interested in them most nights and all but a few acts only got a very small clap when they finished. Just some background music in the restaurant and bar would be fine, and perhaps find another location to set up a stage if people want to go and listen. In a Nutshell, this place is fantastic, the Restaurants, the facilities and most of all, and most importantly the staff. I’ve only mentioned a handful of staff who looked after us personally, but every member of staff I came across were pleasant , helpful, and could not do enough for you. I felt right at home as soon as I got there and settled in immediately. If your looking for a relaxing, peaceful, chilled out holiday, then is the place for you. We’ve been to many places around the world, and this place is up there with the best. Thank you for looking after us and making our holiday memorable

A place that will stay with you long after you leave

27 Jun 2023 | G5107UPbenk

I honestly couldn’t recommend a place more. Accompanied by the views of Mauritius the Grande Gaube is truly fantastic. The food is genuinely amazing, the staff are all incredible and the resort is so well kept. In the time we were there it seemed like the staff knew us by name, they were genuine in asking about how our time was, they went above and beyond to make the trip special and we were overwhelmed with the kindness they showed. The activities included are well worth it, the Spa facilities are tranquil and the rest of the facilities such as the Cinema, Gym and Pools to name a few are modern and maintained. The restaurants are fantastic, Head Chef David has sculpted his restaurants and the cuisine they represent to a very high standard. Each restaurant boasts chefs from the country of the cuisine and the food is just divine. The buffet in the Palm Court restaurant is the best I have had and has everything you want but to the standard of food you would order. The Grande Gaube is as good as the awards it has been given. The attention to detail and the care the staff show you, not because they have to, but because they want to is second to none. The entire staff are worthy of a mention but a few in particular who made our trip special were: Durgesh Naresh Sun Udesh Kevish Vishnu Viresh Hansley Thank you all for everything, we hope to be back soon.

Magnificent Vacation!

I recently returned from a surreal 10 day vacation at the Lux Grand Gaube. Although this was my second stay, the entrance of the resort still takes my breath away. I travelled with my elderly mother. The service my mother & I received from the staff at the Lux Grand Gaube was unbelievable. We were made to feel like VVIP's. I was greeted by my name each morning. The dining, wines, restaurants and general facilities are simply unparalleled. I could not bring myself to leave the resort. I spent 10 consecutive days in paradise and could have spent 10 more! I especially want to thank these amazing individuals for their exemplary service... Hashmy, Nidhi, Dhurgesh, Rishi, Rudi, Dhiren, Ashwin, Naresh, Gevin, Ricardo, Purgan, Krishi, Chef Singh, Ramsamy, Madvi, Pravesh, Reedoo and the many others who treated my mother & I like family. To the Management of the Lux Grand Gaube - you have gems in your people. I will definitely return next year, only because of the service! THANK YOU LUX GRAND GAUBE STAFF!

The only resort in Mauritius I would recommend!

The most beautiful & hospitable hotel I have ever visited. The property is stunning & the staff was exceptional with all our needs. A special mention to Kawol who was extremely hands on for all our requirements before & during our trip.

Exceptional hotel with brilliant customer service!

Beautiful hotel with a stunning location exactly as you we hoped for, stayed in June 2023. What was the real stand out was the customer service from all the team that work at the hotel…. Especially Vicki the legend! There was nothing vicki wouldn’t do for us and made us feel very special, and it really made our trip even more special. If the hotel managers see this review trust me you need to promote Vicki who was a superstar. I’ve already recommended the hotel to my family and friends. Thank you

The superb Lux Grande Gaube 👍🏻

We checked into the Luc Grande Gaube a few days before my birthday. All (or I think) most rooms face the sea - and what a picturesque view it is - absolutely beautiful! We had a few (very) minor arrival issues to start off with re: the room. However, the duty manager Joolshan was straight on it and these were rectified immediately that afternoon with profus apologies - what a lovely chap. Following that our room was regularly inspected and the manager made a point of catching up with us to ask if everything was ok! The junior suite room is a spacious bedroom/living room/dressing area and bathroom/shower/ separate toilet with bath looking out on a private glassed garden - fabulous! The bed is huge, firm yet super comfortable with pillows to match - slept like a baby! No noise, only the sound of birds! We were on half board, so breakfast/dinner both of which are amazingly delicious and the choice is incredible - you’d have to be super fussy to find fault! If you don’t want that dining experience there are several other restaurants, see the hotel info. The Argentinian restaurant (INTI) is to die for, food delicious, again staff incredibly attentive without being imposing, in particular Jesser! This is where it got interesting when staff brought out a birthday cake, singing Happy Birthday accompanied by the guitarist- I cried it was so touching!! My review is mainly to say that staff at this hotel are really and truly the best. Nothing is too much trouble and if a member of staff has misunderstood something then there’s someone else there to immediately put it right. Staff are always smiling & happy to help/accommodate. The complementary water sports & excellent tuition from Dav & Oliver the boat driver was brill - great funny friendly guys - we so enjoyed our water skiing & hanging on on the jetty chatting afterwards! I could go on and on but this hotel really is the best, it’s simple yet stylish, laid back yet professional….oh and check out the spa as it’s so beautiful, outdoors sat in the jacuzzi under the stars- amazing!! This is somewhere we’d definitely return!! Just to mention a few, Mevine, Diren, Rishi, in the Palm Court, so attentive! Gavin at the front door couldn’t have been more helpful, Solvina at the spa- amazing massage, Sharon at the hairdressers - fantastic blow dry!! I had the best birthday day and the best 5 day stay ever - it was just perfect & we were so sad to leave. We’ve now down south of Mauritius, staying at the JW Marriot Le Mourne, and so far it’s not the same :( another review for another time - TBC!!

Relaxing atmosphere

01 Jul 2023 | Stiansu

We spent almost nine days at the resort. Super helpful staff and very relaxing atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for a better honeymoon. The resort is quite big and they have a lot of activities. As honeymooners we were offered several activities free of charge, which was a very pleasant surprise. Totally worth the money staying there.

Amazing babymoon!

01 Jul 2023 | natashasE5789LH

Possibly the nicest place we have ever stayed, a beautiful country and such an amazing hotel! We decided to come to Mauritius for our babymoon for 7 days and it exceeded our expectations. We are so pleased we booked Lux GG. It was exactly what we needed, a relaxing break in paradise. Our room was upgraded on arrival, a lovely surprise after a very long day travelling. The junior wellness suite was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. The view from our balcony was picturesque. The beach and both pools are gorgeous, we tried to alternate each day. The hotel has some great activities like live music nights (our baby seemed to love the Mauritian band and was dancing away in my tummy), cinema nights and a beautiful spa, we had a very relaxing couples massage. They also provide other experiences, we did the helicopter tour to the underwater waterfall which was an incredible experience - highly recommend. They also provide watersports included, unfortunately we didn't manage to do this time with me being pregnant but we did go on the glass bottom boat. The restaurants are brilliant, so much choice. We especially liked the Creole Smokehouse and Bodrum blue, both in fantastic settings. However the main restaurant Palm Court is also fabulous. We tried INTI for our last night which was lovely. (The only restaurant not included in all inclusive package). The ice cream is also delicious. The hotel itself is stunning, perfect decor throughout, it looks exactly like the photos. The hotel provides everything you could possibly need including an on site doctor and prescription delivery service. A gym, tennis court, etc. The staff make this hotel, they really do go above and beyond to make everything about your stay perfect and unforgettable. Nothing is too much trouble from the moment you arrive until you leave. You can tell they love what they do and you are always served with a smile. A special shout out to Ashwan and his team, who couldn't do anymore more to help. Ashwan really looked out for us and always went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable. Incredible service but also a team of genuinely kind and caring people. The only bad part was leaving, however we hope to return soon! Mr and Mrs Smith x

Mauritius at its best!

02 Jul 2023 | veronab509

Staff are charming. So friendly, attentive and accommodating. The resort itself is very chic. Beautiful and stylish design with tasteful decor. The bedroom was just like the brochure - just perfect! Lots of restaurants to choose from with various themes. Lots of activities available. If you’re not content to just sit by the lovely beach you will never be bored. We enjoyed seaplane trips, boat trips, sailing, snorkelling but there’s so much more. We also had a fascinating evening on the beach with an astronomer. Brilliant! The children’s club activities were many and looked really fun. We will definitely plan to return.

Wonderful

02 Jul 2023 | hazimal2023

Had lunch at bodrum blue and I can say that I was fascinated. Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, very friendly, welcoming, helpful and customer oriented staffs especially Yasser and Jean Christophe who were always around checking if everything was going on well.

A piece of paradise

03 Jul 2023 | rosier54

We are currently staying here and it’s beautiful, it is total paradise. The buffet is amazing, the staff around the pool and evening are phenomenal, the rooms are great, some attention needed though to mouldy silicon in the bathroom and we continue to have a warm fridge which is disappointing but they were very quick to take care of the ants in our room. The kids activities are great. Slightly annoyed by the promise of a heated swimming pool which after several complaints they have finally advised that it is broken. It is ice cold so our daughter can only go in it a few minutes at a time. Sadly it’s not going to be fixed anytime soon. The heated pool was the deciding factor in booking this hotel. So if you like a heated pool this is not for you as it’s an ice Bath! The usual lifeguard by the pool is brilliant so friendly. It’s also a little odd that the all inclusive package is not all inclusive! Will comment further as the stay goes and try out the other restaurants.

Gluten free honeymoon

03 Jul 2023 | kirstyrutland

I have just returned from my honeymoon at Lux Grand Gaube and I felt like I had to write a review. Firstly the hotel, facilities, staff, pools, room everything was beautiful and clean. We upgraded to an Ocean Junior suite and the views were incredible, definitely recommend the room if you’re wanting something a little special. The reason for my review is to highlight the amazing food! I suffer with celiac disease meaning I require a strict gluten free diet and I couldn’t fault them at all. When we arrived the executive chef David came out to greet us and talk through my dietary requirements and to come see him at dinner time and he can take me around the buffet. We arrived shortly before the buffet opened and his colleague showed us around the buffet, pointed out what was gf and safe and what was not, what ingredients were in each dish and advised I should avoid the Chinese area unless I request something to be made fresh and separate as almost all dishes had soy sauce. That night he made me a lovely spaghetti Bolognese followed by the best crème brûlée I have ever eaten. Most nights I gravitated toward the Italian station where they would make any pasta or pizza I wanted. Then I would move onto the desert station and they would make me a lovely desert, anything I wanted or sometimes they would surprise me. During lunch we would go to the other restaurants all of which are super Knowledgeable and gave me plenty or gluten free options and adaptations to their menu to make me something, we loved bb’s! At breakfast they have a gluten free section which is rather small, they had two types of bread, one musli and one cereal and then some muffins. Most days I had cereal and fruit, other days I would have some fresh eggs made or gluten free pancakes. I felt confident in navigating the buffet and additional restaurants and if I had any doubts or concerns David and his team was then and ready to answer any questions. If you have any dietary restrictions I highly recommend visiting Lux Grand Gaube!

Incredible service

06 Jul 2023 | IgorD29

We spent 12 days in the resort in July 2013. Being lower season in Mauritius was not a problem. Bit chillier evenings and cooler sea temperature are a fact you have to count in when planning. Service 5/5: staff at the hotel is fantastic. People are friendly, attentive, responsive and always trying to do their best for the guest. With a smile. Facilities 4/5: hotel has everything a 5 star resort needs and requires. Plenty of choices with restaurants, fantastic SPA, great water sports and activities and great coffee shop and ice cream stand. Rooms are spacious, beds super comfortable and facilities are maintained well. Two things are notable towards “could be better” situation- one is doable one is not. Hotel could be up soon for refurbishment- bit of paint job and general touch up. Also beaches (out of management control) are 2 lagoons of pretty shallow sea so the wow effect of Indian ocean is not there- if you are after that effect you will have to go with taxi to some beaches in the area. Food and beverage section 5/5: We were on all-inclusive plan and that was the right choice. The package includes very large number of offered drinks in the bars, coffee shops and restaurants, meals are offered 3 times a day in all restaurants and food quality is fantastic. Fruits, vegetables, fish and meat are all of prime quality and prepared in an incredible way. Again here the service kicks in- all people from chefs to waiters to baristas- they all add to the great picture. With the risk of missing someone I would like to outline fantastic service we enjoyed from Yasser, Silvano, Ricardo, Jean Christopher , Elena , Deepak and many many other great people. They made our vacation memorable. I highly recommend this resort for the outstanding service we have enjoyed!

Have nothing bad to say about this resort. The people are lovely, good amazing, rooms were well equipped & great attention to detail all around the resort. Lots to see & do both in the resort & on guided tours around the island. Will definitely return.

Breath taking resort

06 Jul 2023 | shiemae2023

This hotel was truly a dream. Everything was exceptional and exceeded all expectations. They really thought about every single detail. The staff were professional and so pleasant and they all went above and beyond. Big thank you to Hashmy who worked the front desk, Ashwan who worked in the restaurants and Divesh who collected our luggages. This hotel is a 10/10 and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

Once Mauritius, always Mauritius

We spent 12 days in this charming resort in June 2023. No longer as hot as probably in high season and the days shorter, but for a trip with a year-old baby is the best choice. Definitely one of those hotels you will never forget! Huge, bright and clean superior room overlooking the beach, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with an equally large shower and all the amenities for a baby (crib, diaper pail, high chair, bathtub, kettle, even a baby towel). A brilliantly designed resort with exotic vegetation, palm and banyan trees (amazing!), sweet beaches, pools, tennis, restaurants, live music, spa, library, gym, water sports, kids club and even a junk art gallery. We were on half board, so breakfast/dinner both of which are amazingly delicious and the choice is incredible. 6 restaurants that you will simply fall in love with. Just as you are sure to fall in love with the willingness to help, kindness and friendliness of the staff working here, there is no way you can leave your room for a moment because you are sure to get into a polite conversation with five people along the way . We love the Lux app with all the hotel activities for small and big you can easily sign up for. During one of them ‘Nature walk’ we met Mario who took us on an exciting trip through the exotic garden of the hotel, thank god, otherwise we wouldn't know that we pass by the almond tree every day. We visited him and Anais at their Junk Art Gallery many times afterwards creating our souvenirs from recycled materials, trying pyrography, so relaxing and lots of fun. And that fun in the morning looking for the message in the bottle in order to win something, an absolute hit! The kids club is for ages 3 and up, but we went there anyway to have a look a few times with our year-old son. He loved playing with the kids and the toys, We can't wait for him to participate in all the activities such as t-shirt painting, pizza making, crabs or hidden treasure searching, the kids's program is absolutely brilliant. The day of my birthday was probably the best of my life, first totally surprised by the cake and sung happy birthday by the staff in Palm Court, crowned by a surprise dinner at Beach Rouge wonderfully served by Durgesh. A hundred thanks to Dorothee for the lovely Happy Birthday sign on the bed. We could go on and on but the most important thing I want to say is that this hotel has amazing people on board whose kindness just makes your vacation! More thanks to: Gavin for his sincere smile and help, Akshaye, Naresh and Krishi for entertaining our baby boy, Diren for a small banana bite ring, Kareena for all restaurant bookings, Sun for all the sun and smile she spreads around the spa, Prise for the great spa treatment, Anadiel for the extraordinary rum tasting, Shiikii and Sanne for the late check out and your great assistance, Avish for his engaged work, and to the twin brothers whose names we cannot remember but their openness and kindness we will not forget. See you soon guys - once Mauritius, always Mauritius! KKM

Recent visit in Lux Grand Baie/ Mauritius. Highly recommend resort .

09 Jul 2023 | Q1163JTsamr

We have now visited the two Lux hotel in Grand Baie and Grand Gaube in Mauritius. Highly recommended for going there . Breathtaking resorts and excellent foods . Mr Nicholas Messian and Stuart were very appreciative of my constructive observations.

What an amazing place with the most fantastic staff!

10 Jul 2023 | W1043KGmelissaw

Fantastic location, great room and facilities. Just come back from a stay and cannot praise this hotel enough. We didn't have a usual trip, with my husband having an accident, resulting in ending up hospitalised for 24 hrs and using wheelchair and crutches. Staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful lending a wheelchair and getting equipment to help us. Food was fantastic in all the options, all inclusive drinks were good for us. I'm a white wine drinker and they were very nice. No hidden costs they make it very clear the few things that are not included in the all inclusive. Used the gym and spa before the accident and both were great, Joanne gave a fantastic massage! Above all the staff make this a fantastic experience, they are a real assest, nothing is too much trouble and this is everyone we came into contact with. We want to thank everyone, there are too many to name individually but a few we need to say special thanks to. Ameena (Nurse) Eleena, Manuja, Diren, David, Rakesh, Shekina and Ashwan all made a real difference to our holiday, thank you all. We will be back to do all the things we missed out on!!!

Lavish !

What can I say ! The white Lotus in real life. It’s a Spa hotel, from what the staff wear to what the resort offers, a pure luxury experience you don’t want to leave. I loved the little details they had, button on your beach bed for service, brushes around the beach to brush your feet/flowers flops from the sand, an old English telephone box to phone your loved ones. There’s so much to see around this place, the shop, restaurants, open gardens, beach activities, everything is around you you don’t need to go out. I don’t know if they always offer this but there was star gazing which would have been fantastic but unfortunately it was overcast so they had to cancel it. We wanted our honeymoon pictures taken and they even recommended Rajj the photographer to us, he was so polite and very understanding about our short notice of booking. Due to weather conditions we decided to cancel the session but definitely looking forward to working with him sometime in the future. Breakfast here is a treat! They have everything you could wish for and more. The only thing was it was our honeymoon & we booked our breakfast early at the honeymoon office but unfortunately there was a miss communication as when we arrived for our last breakfast we didn’t find our table set up with flowers as we have seen previously with the other couples, of course this isn't a reason for us not to go back! Many thanks to all the staff, Davish/Avish he was so amazing, helpful & polite. Also, a special thanks to Yousra for making our stay extra special and our honeymoon unforgettable.

A vacation like no other.

We chose Mauritius as our destination as we wanted our 7 year old twins to embrace nature. As we were with kids, I did a lot of due diligence, before narrowing down on a hotel. And I have to say, The Lux Grand Gaub made our Mauritius holiday beyond special. First about the physical space itself. It’s hugged by nature from all sides. Distant mountains, the sea circling it from all sides. Nature at its wildest, combined with manicured lawns. Every restaurant has a breathtaking view. And a charm and uniqueness all its own. We ate at most of the restaurants and loved the varied cuisines and the genuine warmth in the service. In our 11 night stay, there were people we interacted with lot more than others. And we believe, it is their warmth, their honest smiles, and service from the heart that made our Mauritius holiday one of our best. And the least we can do to return the favour is give them a shout. Diren at breakfast, for taking care of us every day with legendary service. Durgesh for looking after us at Beach Rouge and at breakfast, with his genuine warmth and super attitude. Our dear Mimi, for indulging our every little housekeeping request. How can we forget the lovely ladies at guest relations Elena, Hoosra and the smart and lovely Hanna. Navin at the Barbecue Grill for the best burgers in Mauritius. (I had to have them once a day.) Saif for adding that special touch to the service at the Grill. And last but not the least, 2 very special people - Christopher our concierge. We called him for everything. From helping us arrange our excursions to helping me find my bag which I left in the common area - he became our go to guy. And the lovely Bertrand in reservations, for being ever so patient with my unending queries and yet making the booking process ever so simple. All in all a fabulous, fabulous stay in a fabulous country.

Best hotel in Mauritius

I went to stay with my family at this hotel for two nights. I was taken aback by the beautiful hotel and its beaches. But more so the service. So friendly and welcoming. They knew us by name within a day. Can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic Experience

10 Jul 2023 | 293madad

We stayed at LUX Grand Gaube for 2 nights in JUL - family of 7.... 5 kids including teenagers and 2 adults. I wish we stayed longer!! My first stay at any LUX hotel and I was completely blown away. I have been on holiday and educationals to MRU about 18 times and always try a ' new ' option of hotels and visit the ones' I know. Firstly check in was easy and informative. A resort map was handed to us and each restaurant and times were explained and jotted on the map. We were met by Hansley who explained to us that we have 2 rooms booked - 1 Junior Suite and 1 Family Suite. And Hansley explained to us this could be a bit cramped so would like to offer us to look at the 2 Bedroom Villa as an option... a free upgrade. And we can decide to keep the Junior Suite too. We all walked down to the beach and fell inlove with the Villa on the spot. Private splash pool, butler and 2 very spacious rooms. At that point we decided all 5 boys will share the Villa and we will settle with the Junior suite. We arrived at our Junior Suite and absolutely loved it! Very spacious and beautiful bathroom. His and her basins on the opposite sides of the bathroom. A change room between the bathroom and bedroom. The beds are super comfy and all rooms and suites are seafacing. We headed to the beach after a beautiful lunch at Beach Rouge and can highly recommend the seafood penne. Heading to the beach we could not resist the ice cream truck!! The variety of ice creams you will find in an Italian Gelato shop. The kids were in their element not only are they living the life in a Villa for 2 nights but now they have an ice cream truck with unlimited ice cream!! On the beach I found myself a sunbed -- just putting my hand down to move it towards the sunset and at that moment I have a beach assistant walking towards me telling me to relax, took a new towel, tucked the edges all nicely in under the sunbed 'mattress' you could believe for a second he was making your bed for you. Following was another assistant taking my drinks order. As I stood there thinking : I have not seen this type of service often on all the travels I have done in my life. This beach service stood out as this happened not once but every time I was on the beach. We stayed in 4 different hotels on this trip and LUX Grand Gaube was the only hotel that was on the button when it came to beach service. 10/10~~~ What absolutely stood out for me was the staff members and their friendly and helpful nature ~~ Hansley is very engaging and in the mornings at breakfast would chat about the boys remembering each one by name. The food at the hotel was really good - the buffet variety was fantastic - we tried to have dinner at the Turkish restaurant but was already fully booked. Heard from others that it is worth the try! Next time ! Overall I rate this hotel very high- the decor, beach , watersports , service , food and experiences 10/10. I cannot fault anything and I will defnitely be back. We all enjoyed the facilities and the hotel has something to offer for everyone.

The Mauritian Dream

10 Jul 2023 | kezzaj

Following a cancelled trip in June 2020, we decided to rebook for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and to renew our wedding vows at the same time. Our dream holiday did not disappoint. Our Room (6011), Wellness Junior Suite (previously known as Deluxe) was located near the Banyan / Adult Beach. The room was beautifully decorated with a terrace overlooking a secluded bay, king-size four poster bed, lovely sized bathroom with large walk-in shower, free standing bath, twin sinks, separate WC cubicle and lots of storage. The room was really comfortable and the views from the terrace … stunning, particularly at sunset. The resort, is well laid out. The Banyan Area, with adult only beach with pool, Creole Smokehouse, BB’s , Rum Tree House, and French Kiss (a cool vintage citroen van converted into a bar) at one end with Palm Court, Beach Rouge and Inti all being located in the family area and conveniently located in between, Bodrum Blue on its own peninsula. The choice of food in the 6 restaurants was of good quality and varied, our favourite being the Mediterranean Beach Rouge. Lux* Me Spa …ah, beautiful and calming - massages are amazing! The Team at Lux* are a credit to the brand and thank you for for making our holiday one to remember, Anastajia & Nitishia for co-ordinating our vow renewal, thank you for making it so beautiful. Jayshree, the lovely lady that cleaned our room, regularly checked in with us to see if we needed anything and on the day of our anniversary / vow renewal she placed a lovely note and a towel elephant with a flower on our bed. Lovely touches like this really made our stay at Lux* memorable. All the hospitality staff at Palm Court, Inti and Beach Rouge that showed such kindness, to name but a few, Dookhan, Naresh, Goranah, Kushall, Kevish, Johnathan, Duresh, Shakina, Khatoo, Derin, Koushal and David. Reedoo, (Man with the hat), on the adult beach who bought us our insulated little red box with refreshments everyday and the team at Banyan. If you are looking for a tropical getaway with first-class service, I would 100% recommend Lux* Grand Gaube.

An entirely safe choice for a truly fantastic holiday

12 Jul 2023 | KeepItSimple16

We have just stayed here for 12 days. Not a bad meal. Outstanding service, friendly staff and delicious food across all their restaurants. Be it a brilliant burger at BB’s Burger Shack, superb bouillabaisse at Cafe Rouge, fine dining at Inti, huge variety, all good at the Palm Court buffet, or Turkish food at the sublimely beautiful Bodrum Blue. Yasser, our waiter at Bodrum Blue deserves a special mention as does a lovely lady (didn’t catch her name) who works there too. Concierge at the hotel is excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable and extremely professional. Rooms are serviced very well each day. Ordinarily I would give this resort 5 stars but there were a few minor glitches in our room on arrival that needed to be fixed the next day, which they did, but this lost them that star. And the cleaning staff who are loud in the passages in the morning, so if you want to sleep in, you’ll be disturbed. Beach service is ok, not brilliant. Limited food options in the beach chairs. You mostly need to find your waiter rather than them being attentive. Magnificent facilities, beautiful beach and overall, a fantastic experience.

We went to the Lux Grand Gaube Resort for my partner's 50th Birthday Dumi Gumbi and this was the best holiday experience we've ever had. The food is excellent I never used salt & pepper at all, the staff is friendly, the rooms are beautiful. We will definitely be back in 2024!!!

Surpassing expectations

11 Jul 2023 | Seph202

We go back over and over again to Lux Grand Gaube for a reason…to feel part of something formidable, where service and excellence surpasses any other hotels in mauritius ! With time and years passing by, quality and experience keeps surpassing our expectations - we are greeted, welcomed and taken care every single minute of the day by friendly, forthcoming and attentive staff wherever we go! Their restaurant outlets remain their forte offering authentic cuisine in effortless style! Mr. Marday, thanks again for the welcome and to the usual team, keep shining !

Wow, wow, wow!

14 Jul 2023 | Tour53277644526

This hotel and all of the staff are just amazing. The food from every restaurant was top quality and really delicious with plenty of choice. However what really sets this hotel out is the staff. Every single one wants to make sure everyone has the best holiday possible. A special shout out to Sun from the spa who went above and beyond to make sure our daughter had the best birthday possible. She really is an asset to the team and I felt really sad when I said goodbye to her as she was so special. The hotel does so many little extras (which I won’t set out and ruin the surprises!) but make sure a difference too. Facilities are great for children and adults and at no point did it feel overly busy. The rooms were spacious and clean. Overall we feel very lucky we picked this hotel as there are so many to chose from but we definitely felt we made the right choice.

Great Hotel, Top Drawer Service!

If you are looking for the most accommodating and friendly hotel service in the world, look no further than Lux Grand Gaube in Mauritius! We had special dietary requirements as my wife is Vegan & Gluten Free, and this hotel not not disappoint Apologies. as we were not able to catch all the names of all the wonderful staff, but here are our highlights below: - The head of housekeeping was fantastic on our arrival, and helped us move into an upgraded room, even though it was late at night - Sanjana provided a faultless and informative tour of the hotel on our first morning - The Chef at the Palm (I think his name was Reigen) greeted us on our first morning and ensured there were plenty of GF and Vegan options throughout our stay - Ricardo organised a fantastic romantic dinner at the Jeti as part of our honeymoon package, and was amazingly patient with all our last minute changes! - Pravesh was a fantastic host for our dinner at the Inti - the food is amazing - Noranee, the chef at the Mauritian station at the Palm Court was a welcome face and really championed Mauritian cuisine every time we visited :) - Diren at the Palm Court was so friendly and attentive for every meal. In a hotel with hundreds of guests, he remembered our names and took care to make sure we were ok at all times - The Indian Chef lady at the Palm Court produces dishes to die for everyday without fail (the Dhal is especially fantastic) All in all, the buffet Palm Court served up restaurant standard food you would be happy to pay for on a regular basis, and the staff went above and beyond at all times. They take pride and enjoy providing hospitality for their guests, and it really showed. Thank you Lux Grand Gaube! Punit & Misha

Fabulous Honeymoon Destination

Couldn’t fault this hotel! Came here for our honeymoon last summer and it exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful and the outdoor tub is amazing! The food here is delicious - delighted to find out that it is unlimited a La carte meals. Absolutely loved all the restaurants but particularly loved the pizza in the Italian and the burgers on the adults only beach! Staff here are so friendly. Special shout out to the man who works in the coffee bar and the man in the cocktail bar in the adults only section of the beach - they were both amazing and worth their weight in gold. We both had the most amazing time here and really hope to return one today. Thank you!!

Incredible Stay - 10/10 - Pure Luxury

15 Jul 2023 | mgwfi13

It’s hard to describe just how good this hotel is. Impeccable service from every single member of staff, they are always relaxed, happy and professional all day, every day. They are always doing something. The hotel’s design is incredible, throughout it’s a mix of retro with a modern twist, it’s really quite stunning. The second best thing after the staff, is the food and drink. GO ALL INCLUSIVE! It is SO worth it - the restaurants around the hotel are so unique and delicious, the menus are very diverse and showcase different cultures & cuisines. The bars around the hotel offer a wide range of drinks and are always served at any time of the day with a smile. Our room (Junior Wellness Suite) was situated near the Adults Only ‘Banyan Area’ which was quiet and peaceful, away from the main area (only 5 mins walk) but made all the difference. The pools are pristine, beaches are clean and swept every day, the sea is clear and colourful, and there is always someone on hand for a towel, food, drink or service. Cafe Lux is also great! Oreo milkshake to die for. There’s so much more I could say - if you’re looking for a guaranteed great time in Mauritius - BOOK THIS HOTEL! Lux grand Gaube Mauritius 🇲🇺

My husband and I are just back from a fabulous 10 night stay at Lux Grand Gaube. We were lucky enough to have a suite on the 3rd floor with views of the ocean which did not disappoint. We mainly ate in the buffet or Bodum Blu which were both exceptional dining experiences. Vidhi and Yasser were both very welcoming, and genuinely warm and friendly people, whilst being professional to a very high standard. We took advantage of the water sports and outside movies available at the resort as well as live music which was on every night. Not forgetting to mention the exceptional treatments we had at the spa. Thank you ❤️We hope to return again soon.

Wow! what an amazing hotel, I came here with my wife for our honeymoon and it was amazing. Totally worth going all inclusive, you get access to top quality restaurants, woth food all day and the water sports included with that make it worth it. both me and my wife have learnt to wakeboard while here. Big thank you to the watsports team who are always so helpful and willing to teach you a new sport. The staff are also phenomenal and have taken care of us. I hope the hotel reads this because the staff deserve the praise, especially Prithvi who runs the evening entertainment and volleyball. The lad has made our honeymoon so a big thank you. Also a huge thank you to the wonderful bar team, including naresh and yoven and goranah and koushal and Krishi.

Beautiful Honeymoon destination hotel

Stunning hotel . On arrival at the lobby , it would be difficult not to be impressed! Love the white wash wooden finish . Reception staff lovely. Lovely spacious room with balcony overlooking the sea . Good sized room. The communal corridors to the rooms could do with a paint/tidy up. Beautiful beach and pool areas . 3 areas to choose from . Drinks service on the beach so good, they even give you your own cool box with ice with your choice of drinks . A man comes & cleans your glasses. Even an Adults only beach and pool with beautiful swing loungers to lie on. The complimentary water sports are brilliant , even includes water skiing, kayaking, sail boats , paddle board, snorkelling trips , glass bottom boat .Can’t recommend enough . We stayed on an All inclusive board . However this doesn’t include all the restaurants. 1 restaurant not included & 1 Gin bar . Which was a shame . We still went but very expensive. All the other restaurants very nice , the buffet was outstanding . Evening entertainment was ok , but very similar every night . The spa was beautiful. We had 2 very nice complimentary massages . By Sun and Jenssen. Can’t recommend them enough . Late check out changing facilities nice extra touch . Taxis expensive , but lovely to venture out .

Fabulous experience

Absolutely fabulous experience at the Lux Grand Gaube! Came here for our anniversary and were amazed by the warmth of the staff and experience provided! Yoshra and Kareena ensured we had the smoothest stay and got to experience all the restaurants (and there are a lot) Lux* Grand Gaube had to offer. Special shoutout to the Lux* Me Spa staff: Sun and Prislla for the most relaxing massage.

Excellent return trip to Lux Grand Gaube

18 Jul 2023 | LuxMorris

This is our second time at Lux Grand Gaube having been here in July 2016. Booked all inclusive holiday through BA so flight, taxi transfers and holiday together. This made it all run very smoothly as we landed an hour later than expected. Travelled as a couple and booked a Wellness Suite room, 6122, which was on the first floor looking out to the lagoon in the adult only section. Room was amazing and Manisha looked after us and helped get us only decaff coffee pods for our room. She made some lovely flower/towel art which was a lovely surprise. The balcony has a slightly reduced view of the lagoon because of the lower palm tree but I liked the privacy too. The resort refurbishment made it feel like a new adventure but still with the Lux brand. We were met by Elena who did the introduction chat and made us feel at ease straight away. When she found out this was our second visit she had some gifts sent to our room. This made us feel special from the start. I would recommend the All Inclusive package as we didn't need to think about how much drinks and food cost throughout our stay. Huge choice of delicious food and drink: - Beach Rouge (Italian) is on/by the beach and the ‘Chocolate’ pudding was the best! - Palm Court is a buffet style restaurant for breakfast and dinners with a piano being played! No need to reserve here. The staff here work very hard as there is a quick turn around during breakfast. You are taken to a table. Wait to be asked about drinks then off you go to get your food. So much choice. Veena made us yummy omelettes everyday! Don’t leave food at your table that you wish to eat as the birds love to have a quick nibble which is fun to watch. - Inti the Peruvian restaurant is NOT on the All Inclusive package but you get 30% off so we did visit and the meal was excellent. - Bodrum Blue is over the water with a view back across to the main beach. This turkish restaurant is very good, the Lamb Kofta and kebab skewers were amazing! I tried Catch of the day in most restaurants and loved it each time. Khinsha was especially friendly and helpful whenever we saw her. - Creole Smokehouse restaurant now serves lunch and dinners under the Banyan Tree. This is still our favourite place situated beside the adult beach. Ashwan made us feel really welcome and he made our holiday. He even organised a meal in the Rum Rum Treehouse for our last night which was so memorable. All the salads and the fish and crab soup were scrumptious. Serge continues to play the guitar while you eat which is very special. - BB’s is behind here and serves hotdogs, burgers, chips or wedges for lunch. You can also get it served at the adult beach. The adult beach has loungers, swing beds, bean bags, cold water on tap and call buttons for service. Kumar looked after us really well here. You can get drinks at the French Kiss van by the beach next to we’re the towels are kept. There is lots or as little to do as you like. We made sure we visited Cafe Lux twice each day as Nuha and Sylvano were great baristas and also ici to get two scoops of ice-cream, as there was so much to choose from. Some tips - Book dinner restaurants at the Celebration desk on your first day. Remember no reservation is needed for Palm Court. - Be at the front foyer between 21:00 and 23:00 and you will hear something amazing. - You have to book the glass bottom boat or snorkelling the day before you want to go. - Have fun in the evening at the Palm Court bar with live music entertainment between 20:30 and 22:30. - There is a tip box behind the Celebration room for all staff or tip individual staff as well half way through your trip or at the end. - If you have any issues just ask nicely and it will get solved. This is a little piece of paradise.

Our 12-day stay at Lux Grand Gaube was a remarkable experience that exceeded our expectations. Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Mauritius, this hotel is an epitome of beauty and luxury. From the attentive and friendly staff to the array of activities and stunning views, Lux Grand Gaube left an indelible mark on our hearts. Our rooms at Lux Grand Gaube were a sanctuary of spaciousness. The ocean view from our room provided a picturesque backdrop that enhanced the sense of tranquility and luxury. The staff at Lux Grand Gaube showcased an exceptional level of attentiveness and hospitality. From the main restaurant to the dedicated Vimi at housekeeping, their commitment to ensuring our comfort was evident throughout our stay. We were pleasantly surprised by Vimi's creative touch, as she left a unique origami animal made with towels on our bed every day. It was a delightful and personal gesture that added an extra touch of charm to our experience. At the G&T 100 bar, Vishnu's mastery of mixology shone through as he crafted the most amazing gin cocktails. His skill, attention to detail, and willingness to accommodate our children with non-alcoholic cocktails truly impressed us. Moreover, Reedoo's regular visits to clean our sunglasses on the beach exemplified the hotel's commitment to providing a thoughtful and attentive service that went above and beyond our expectations. Lux Grand Gaube also boasts an extensive range of activities that cater to every interest. The boathouse staff, with special mentions to Oliver and Poorvish, ensured that our teenage kids had a memorable and enjoyable time. While they were entertained, we had the opportunity to relax and unwind. Additionally, the hotel offers a variety of activities such as water sports, a well-equipped gym, tennis courts, and a paddle court, allowing guests to stay active and indulge in their passions during their stay. Sylvano at Cafe Lux delighted us with his mastery of crafting exquisite cappuccinos, making each sip a moment of bliss. David, the executive chef at the Palm Court Restaurant, personally ensured our satisfaction with every meal, engaging with us daily to guarantee a memorable dining experience. The attentive service of waiters Ashwin and Sahid added to the overall enjoyment of our dining moments. A special acknowledgment goes to Avneesh, who tirelessly arranged incredible activities and endeavorer to engage our teenagers in various experiences. His dedication and enthusiasm made a significant impact on our overall stay. In conclusion, Lux Grand Gaube is a paradise that offers beautiful surrounding, attentive service, and a plethora of activities. Our stay was nothing short of exceptional, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly memorable and indulgent retreat. Thank you, Lux Grand Gaube, for creating cherished memories that will stay with us forever.

The 5* Staff

22 Jul 2023 | j0wads

As someone who travels very often and been around the globe i usually leave a review if its really bad or really good and not when it falls within expectations. In this case you can be very proud of what your staff is doing in this establishment! The genuine friendliness of the staff is what gives this 5*. Even after visiting the worlds first 7* Hotel i can honestly say your staff is a competition for them! The breakfast i would recommend everyone to just take into their mealplan all diets can find their food of choice during breakfast. The restaurants also have alot of vegetarian options. Altho to be honest Inti was not my cup of tea as a vegetarian. Saw on review of Mandelieu-la-Napoule resident giving 1* for bad drinks and foods which had me worried but this is not the case at all. For people interested in this hotel the pros: Free water sports , Snorkeling, Paddle boat, Paddle board, Waterski, Sailboat, Catamaran Icecreme stand for nice treats , and free infused water at the beach incase it gets too hot! Service on the beach if wished just by ringing the bell Nice quite side of the north. Cons: If youre used to walk around in the evening after a day at the beach this is not the place for it. Its in a calm area not like its counter part in Grand Baie. So make sure you have a good tour guide/plan if you dont like staying inside of the hotel all day. One smaller issue i reported was the seal of the front door not closing well enough so the wind blew in with a annoying whistle sound. Should be easy to fix and might not be an issue in less windy seasons. A special thanks to the staff!

5* Customer Service

23 Jul 2023 | shamsheedb

As someone who usually does not take time to rate and review my experience wherever I go, I can not do anything else except from acknowledging and congratulating lux resort on their 5* customer service. My family and I spent a wonderful weekend in one of the villas and the service given to us by all the workers were outstanding. I would also like to specifically thank Hansley, who was always here to help with any of our demands at any time, always with a smile, making sure that we make the most of our stay here.

Perfect Resort- You will not be disappointed!

23 Jul 2023 | abi_the_wanderer

We've just got back from THE most incredible 10 days at Lux* Grand Gaube. We were recommended to go by friends, and nothing could have prepared us for the beautiful resort we stayed at. We stayed in a Junior Wellness Suite (we were upgraded) which was beautiful- amazing sunset views from the balcony, and the comfiest bed ever. The room was always clean and tidy- nothing was too much trouble. The restaurants provided a great range of options- on the last night we ate at Inti, which was certainly worth paying for. Breakfast was fresh, pancakes, waffles cooked right in front of you and beautiful fresh fruit. I really enjoyed a frappe every morning and definitely got my money's worth of the all inclusive with the coffee alone! Beaches were beautifully clean- we kayaked every day and snorkelled too. Very easy and great that it's included. We also used the gym and played tennis- both very easy to book in and use. I was worried the weather in July would be cold, but it was 28 degrees most days and perfect blue skies- only one day of rain in 10 days! On the rainy day we hired a car to the south and took a road trip- I'd highly recommend this. We also took a taxi to Port Louis from the hotel (no need to book) and the hotel organised horse riding locally for us too. I cannot recommend the hotel enough- it is certainly 5* through and through and you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful 2 weeks at the Lux Grande Gaube!

23 Jul 2023 | Cruiser42287193514

We’ve just spent a wonderful 2 weeks here! This is our 5th visit to Mauritius and 2nd to a Lux Resort. We’re already planning a return visit. There were some minor issues namely not accommodating a 1hr late checkout request despite just having spent 2 weeks here and a repeat guest. Putting that aside we had a wonderful time here - it’s the tireless work of all the staff that sets this resort apart. The smiles that we are greeted with and amazing work that they do is what makes it special. Firstly it was wonderful meeting and chatting to Sylvano again at Cafe Lux having first met at the Lux Belle Mare. Always a great start to the day chatting to Sylvano and grabbing a morning coffee! Thank you to Sahid, Rishi and Reddy either at the Palm court or popping up tirelessly at the various restaurants each night - wonderful insights from Mario at junk art, nature walk, Veemal at the Smokehouse. I haven’t managed to remember everyone’s names so apologies but it’s a big thank you to everyone! And the food is fantastic at any of the resort restaurants.
