My family and I had an amazing weekend at Le Méridien hotel! The food was very tasty and we had a wide variety to choose from. As for the rooms, they were very spacious and pretty. Additionally, we would like to give a special thanks to Kenny, who was an exceptional sommelier, he went above and beyond to give us a unique experience of champagne sabering! We would also like to thank Nicholas, the restaurant supervisor, who was very helpful and made our weekend even more better and unique! Thank you to the Méridien hotel!

Beautiful hotel Delicious food Amazing views The rooms are very spacious and modern. Le Méridien is indeed a star hotel. I appreciated my stay with my wife there. However there was a small issues at the housekeeping level. A Lady named Gaytree doesn't have a proper manner to talk with people and she is a little bit filrty type which does not match the standard of a prestige hotel like this. Kindly work on this. Otherwise great service👍

Terrible visit

Room is full of mosquitoes and the service wasn’t that good for gusts. Still shocked from the visit none of my vists to Meridian were like this it’s so TERRIBLE!!!. After all of these no appreciation from the guest relations so I think it usual thing in this hotel. Their excuse was we are near the island. Food was terrible as well except the Italian restaurant.

Le Meridien = Mumbai hotel !! 99% guest ex India. Unhappy staff with no respect to the customer. Broken doors, dirty and untidy room. This is 2 star hotel and worse than ibis. Except Nicolas (food manager at Nomad restaurant) who is the best with proper manner to the customer. We can not wait to leave this terrible 2 star hotel, not worth the money we paid.

A place to be! Le Meridien is the best hotel if looking for some relaxing time. I spent one amazing week at the hotel, from a welcoming check in to a “not want to go” farewell. Ive been staying in a beautiful and cozy room in Nirvana with the private pool accessible. The hotel is a good discovery; representing the history of Mauritius, a mix of modern and vintage design. The room is well equipped with all the amenities, loved the world map view from the bathtub, sitting on the balcony while having the relaxing sound of the ocean waves, waking up on the most comfortable bed, enjoying walking in the middle of the greens and barefoot on the sands. Everything was perfect for my one week holiday. Ive been assisted by amazing people, Mr Jerome, welcoming person, we shared some good conversations and he was always present during the stay. He made sure that i have the smoothest holiday. I’ve enjoyed the Mauritian cuisine which I’ve been craving ! Had my breakfast at Nomad restaurant with good food and without forgetting my special tea served by Ashley. Been invited to the cocktail party where I met Ms Joanne, motivating lady with an outstanding personality. Then had dinner to Zoli Mamzel restaurant. Special Thank You to Mr Nicolas and to the F&B team for the services. Warm Regards and special thanks to Ms Joanne, Nicolas (F&B), Jerome, Anne, Kessaven, Amand from zoli mamzel restaurant, meenakshi from the nomad buffet and all Le Meridien staff.

A wonderful stay beyond expectation

After a long day of travel, arriving at the hotel was a welcome relief. The amazing view as you enter the reception is breathtaking. We were greeted with smiles, a cold towel and a refreshing drink. The check in process was straightforward. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed. The amenities are good. We particularly enjoyed the massage at the spa and relaxing poolside. With different restaurants to choose from, there is a variety of cuisine to satisfy any appetite. Just remember you need to make a reservation at Kumin and Paparazzi. What truly made this a memorable stay was the friendliness of the staff. You could be walking in any area around the hotel and always be warmly greeted by passing staff members My appreciation and thanks go to Shaleel, who was just so helpful and kind, always checking up on us to see if there was anything further that we needed. And then to the housekeeping staff Sheila, Sudesh and Oudy. Thank you. Sheila, you truly are a ray of sunshine. The extra effort you went through to ensure our stay was comfortable, shall always be remembered, and we are so grateful. My personal experience at the hotel was above expectation and I highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic Resort ! Service on highest level . Very friendly Staff !!! Every room has Butler, we had Kesaven V. he was great. Every time when we needed something he was there for us!!! Barman Yash DB made special own created cocktails, OMG fantastic!!! We met also Berty who was speaking german. He advised us special activities and trips. It was amazing. Great location direct on the beach, super zone only for adults, great food. We come back 100%.

Great weekend gateway! A lovely property with all facilities you expect form a property of this caliber. The resort offers different dining destinations that would suit every palate from breakfast to dinner. Although it is a big resort you don't feel it is overcrowded and you can enjoy a lot of more intimate places to relax by the sun sipping delicious cocktails. Rooms are very spacious and housekeeping is efficient without being intrusive. I spent a great weekend here with my wife and really appreciated the level of care everyone shown. I can't wait to come back this time with my kids! Thank you all and look forward to enjoy your hospitality really soon!!!

We tried all the hotel restaurants and they are all excellent, providing delicious food from around the world. Good property but pathetic service and food choices and quality of food

Good property but extremely poor service and very few food choices. For every small request, the guest needs to follow up 3-4 times atleast. The hotel has many rules which they expect guests to play with. Too many mistakes by the staff, they literally recruit people who have not had any training in hospitality management whatsoever. Would not recommend to any person who has experienced 5 star luxury service world over. Writing this review while we are staying here. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

I absolutely loved this resort. Recently refurbished. Everything was fresh. I loved the room. The bed was very comfortable. The balcony over looking the ocean was just beautiful to sit on and relax. The rooms have USB ports and fantastic lighting with easy to operate (and find) switches. I can highly recommend the Nirvana Adults Only section. The pool and pool bar are lovely and such a nice place to relax. The food was also very good. Situated in the north west, it is a great location to get around the island.

Le Meridien Mauritius is located about 1 hour from the airport, 30 minutes from Port Louis, and within 15 minutes from Grand Baie and other small towns. The hotel is about 20 minutes from: Cap Malheureux, the botanical gardens, “L’Aventure du Sucre” (free entry with hotel voucher), he Powder Mills Nature Walk, and Pereybere public beach (nice sandy and calm beach). The beach directly in front of the hotel is nice but it is a little rocky and the surf can be rough but there is a nice sandy beach with good snorkeling about a 15 minute walk south in front of the Beachcomber Hotel. The walk itself is enjoyable but we did notice more broken glass than anywhere else in Mauritius. We found the king bed to be very comfortable, there was a ceiling fan, and decent blinds, and we didn’t hear the other guests. The only thing that disturbed our sleep was a clicking sound made by the ceiling fan. Overall, the room was spacious and very comfortable. Despite its renovation recently, it is seeing some signs of wear and tear, due to some design issues. The mini-bar actually warms things up due to the cabinet it is stored in: you need to keep that door open so that the fridge can properly ventilate and cool things. The other issue we had with the rooms were the lights as the controls are located at the entrance and they are tricky to figure out. We also had to figure out our own way to create a night light effect at night instead of keeping all the lights turned on in the bathroom. The hotel has some strange design choices: you need to walk in the sand to get to and from the shower to rinse your feet and body after swimming. The games area is also located in an area with no windows that open or air-conditioning. They also provide small bottles of water for the gym that are often not restocked fast enough to meet the demand. There are no filtered water dispensers on the property. As for the food, we really enjoyed dining at the Indian restaurant and found it to be very good and high quality. Service was also very good! Overall, the staff were fantastic and we have no complaints. The housekeeping was really good and Sheila C, our housekeeper came to greet us every day and ask how things were going. On departure, she gave my wife a flower pin for her hair. The housekeeping manager also checked in with us to make sure our room was serviced and we had everything we needed. The staff at Paparazzi where we had breakfast every morning was also really awesome and we enjoyed talking with them everyday. Indu S made some really good iced coffees and was just lovely. It was also always pleasant to take to Axel at the Nirvana pool. We do have complaints about some things about the resort in general. - Restaurant menus: The restaurant menus are not available online. You have to go to the booking desk and view them there/or take photos to view later. - Dining Reservations: It is very hard to get a dinner reservation unless you plan 1+ days in advance. They also have very limited early reservations for when dinner starts at 19:00. Kudos to the resort for not having a strict dress code and for guests to have common sense in their chosen dinner attire! We would stay again!

Positive: Location good, not far from Port Louis, Grand Baie and Botanical Gardens. Quality of the food in the main restaurant was very good. Room cleanliness: Chrome and glass in room likely left uncleaned for several guests (e.g. fingerprints, soap splatter from bottom to top). Outdated facility (e.g. unbearable smell from shower and toilet). For 4 nights the room was only made up again in the evening at 9:00 p.m. Cleaning staff put clean towels on dirty suitcases and didn't know afterwards which were the clean towels and which were the used towels. Staff mostly unfriendly and poorly trained and inattentive (e.g. you had to ask extra for sugar, and when it was brought you had to ask for the coffee spoons again). Although there was good cappucino at the bar, the one in the breakfast room was very bad or they served espresso. At check-out, we weren't even actively asked if we were satisfied. Overall, the hotel was far from the standard we are used to from Le Meridien.

Absolutely exceptional service from all personnel! An amazing dining experience at all four restaurants as well, and brilliant facilities throughout. There’s something for everyone, and for families with kids the Kids Club is great as are the baby sitting services on offer. From scuba to spa, nothing but the highest praise. Special mention to Shahyad Khadun, the front office manager, who was brilliant at kindly sorting a late checkout for us (9pm flight with a 2 year old!) All in all we couldn’t recommend this highly enough!

The Best Place to get Married and Relax

Long overdue but needed to post this as we think Le Méridien absolutely deserve the best. We had our Wedding day on the 17th Feb 2023 after alot of drama's with the Mauritius Civil status office. Roomesh was looking after our event and not only he orgained and sorted everything out for us but went above and beyond to keep in touch as wedding abroad can be very difficult. He kept us posted he gave us suggestion, he was always avaliable over the phone despite time difference and the big day what can I say he personally managed everything and made sure both my husband and I were made confortable and enjoyed our day. I could keep going but I think I would like to say aassive Thank you to Roomesh for make our big day so memorable.

PERFECT, PEACEFUL AND PARADISE

This is our third time at this hotel, the first two visits were before the recent refurbishment. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we were treated like royalty, The staff in every area of the hotel were amazing, they could not do enough for you. Members of staff came around every day to ensure all was ok and that we were enjoying the hotel. We saw one of the ladies who worke in la paparazzi called Santy who we had met on a previous visit, was nice to see her smiling familiar face We stayed in the Nirvana area of the hotel, which is adults only, own pool jazuzzis bar and restaraunt for breakfast. Sunset cocktail and canopes watching the amazing sunsets every night. Our room was spacious, with a huge bed an roll top bath. The food in every eating place was exceptional, we were glad that Kumin was back to al la carte for our second week. We both celebrated our bithdays there, and had a specially made up table in the place we ate for our dinner followed by a birthday cake. As my husband cant walk long distancs , we used the buggy service to get around the hotel one quick phone call and the buggy came in a few minutes. Would recommend this hotel to anyone what a fabulous experience,

Le Méridien Ile Maurice exceeded my expectations not only in luxury and comfort but true hospitality! So many amazing staff to name but unfortunately I can’t remember them all but Rushan S waiter in Kumin and the manager Luveen S, to Luxmi who greeted us by Nirvana daily to Dursain AK the duty manager and to the house keeping manager Malla Bhadoo and her team every one was so nice! The bed was huge! I shared it with my mother as we forgot to book twin and I didn’t even feel her near me and we both sleep crazy! I have to mention the views … oh my goodness the views! I just could not get enough of the sunsets and the setting of the moon (if you stay up later enough) over the sea that could be seen every night on the beach or by the infinity pool.. truly spectacular! I stayed in the nirvana which is the adult part of the hotel! It was pure luxury and relaxing! It was the best 10 days away I’ve had! The hotel was so clean and beautiful! Receiving a gift upon arrival was so lovely and such a nice touch a well as the champagne! But what I really loved is that I travelled with my mum and it was her first all inclusive luxury five star experience everyone made it a seven star experience for her and she cannot stop gushing about all the love and attention she received. Everyone was so personable and warm and genuine … from the bell men to the concierge to bar staff everyone was so nice! The general manager Mathieu de Tonnac was so friendly genuinely enquired after our stay and ensuring everything was to our satisfaction! One thing I must add, I hit my foot against some rocks while snorkelling and ripped the skin off! It was pretty bad but I was able to see the doctor at their clinic which is on site! Absolutely amazing! He dressed my foot and provided me with all the things I needed to reduce infection and was so gentle and caring! I was ferried to and from my room via golf cart without even needing to ask! I would certainly recommend this hotel and will be visiting again soon! Thank you

Good hotel but service even greater

We stayed at this property for six nights. We all enjoyed so much that we were sad to go. The staff here really do make the difference here. Some outstanding names to mention are Darsan dep mngr and Nicholas the f&b manager who seemed always to be working and leading by example not just delegating but hands on. Yovan at the main bar always going out his way to be friendly with everyone and I'm sure you let me beat you at the pool table on purpose ha ha. Special mention also to Juliano and Zibiyan in entertainment team thanks for your hospitality and endless smiles. Zibiyan I hope your prayers come true and we return b4 the year is out. Also housekeeping were great too Ilaji Malaji and supervisor Raj. Last but not least super chefs Kavi and Neggi for looking after us with the special dishes. All those mentioned really made iur stay so much so that the next hotel we went to my kidd wanted to come back here. Take care guys and keep up the good work.

The stay was average but on and off issues throughout. Checked in and told I was upgraded but when we got to the room it was the room I had booked (?!). Room was nice and as expected albeit a few issues that required workmen to address and unsure why housekeeping didn’t pick up (shower door was jarred shut and hard to open and wardrobe door has swelled and couldn’t slide open). The fridge is also in a cupboard with no vents meaning that the fumes from the fridge can’t exhaust and so the fridge can’t perform and drinks not cold (and a waste for the environment) and so left the door open (although housekeeping kept closing) to exhaust the fumes. However there was constant noise from the corridor as you could hear people talking and doors slamming (the doors need a soft closing hinge added to stop this). As such asked to move rooms as this woke me up. This is when we discovered my upgrade wasn’t an upgrade and so then upgraded. The new room was nice and no issues except for the fridge in a cupboard. Service was ok but couldn’t be annoying as if Erne we were asked 4-5 times in a restaurant what our room number was!! Bar staff were great but entertainment hit and miss. Restaurant food ok but when quiet they should close the buffet as such a waste of food. A coupe of annoying service issues did happen with dry cleaning being returned at 11pm at night when we had just gone to sleep with do not disturb on the room. Also I was working in the room with do not disturb on and house cleaning would be in and out constantly which was annoying especially when I was in a business meeting and for some reason they were checking coat hangers and weighing scales which we hadn’t asked to be changed etc. also when paying they give you a bill after ever order which is a waste of paper and harmful to the environment and also waste of staff time. Use an iPad / check out the persons bill when they have finished. Check was ridiculous. Stood for 10 mins whilst there was a morning huddle with the staff (c10 staff stood around). So have more than one member of staff checking out, enable auto check out on the mobile and hold staff huddles away from reception as creates a poor impression Unfortunately won’t stay again

We were in need of a relaxing holiday and our stay here exceeded our expectations. Our room was comfortable and all the staff were wonderful, pleasant and genuine in everything they did. Would definitely stay again. The choice of restaurants and standard of means we had exceeded our expectations.

Nice hotel and rooms Friendly staff ! However the staff are annoyingly friendly get 4/5 asking if you. Red something every 5 Minutes but none actually ever fulfill any requests! Room cleaning and minibar service ok then 3/4 people come check room for the next hour afterwards ! Food in restaurant was Ok but nothing exceptional and service again hit and miss! Several people asking room numbers and if want drinks but only one ever brings drinks! Gets a little annoying at times And flies the place had a Massive amount of flies ! Reception and restaurant full of them ! Other places Around hotel don’t have the same Issues! Defiantly sorry to say it’s an hotel I wouldn’t return to ! 1/2 stars at the most ! Which is a pity as. The place is stunning! Rooms are Great ! Management need to sort staff and try eradicate some flies

Well where do I start, what a magical 7 nights at the Meridien, from start to finish the hotel, staff, customer services, all the restaurant and pool teams you are all second to none. We felt at home from the moment we were greeted in reception to the moment we said goodbye. A few thank you’s and sorry that I didn’t get everyone’s names but your all brilliant… From Artee in reception, Morghan, Owen and the guys in Latitude, Axel and the team at the Nirvanva pool, Kelvin at Zoli, Luveen at Paperrazzi, Daveena in the Spa and Jaysen at concierge, plus the many other staff member we met you have all made our stay so memorable and we thank you each and everyone one of you… Restaurants: We were lucky enough to stay on all inclusive and it was worth every minute. Nomad - great selection of breakfast and the variety in the evenings each night a different theme was great thank you all.. Kumin - an amazing curry experience thank you all, one of the best over ever had worldwide! Zoli - had both lunch and dinner here amazing on both occasions, great food and great attentive staff.. Paparazzi - had lunch and dinner here, like the other restaurants great choice in food, service and quality. Staff amazing here too.. Latitude 2.0 - a number of evenings spent at the bar here, entertainment each night was great, drinks fantastic and the team wonderful in regards to service, friendliness and customer service.. Nirvana pool - what an experience, great pool, drinks and food. The team here made our days with their attentive and friendly service, including some wonderful sunsets. Our room was a double sea view, all rooms look over the ocean and it was clean, tidy, well presented and had stunning views of the ocean. Cleaned to a high standard each day with daily turn down service. Thank you to this team. The wider hotel - as above you’ll all a credit to the hotel, friendly, attentive and wonderful customer service. The hotel wouldn’t be the same without you all. Lovely Holiday in the Indian Ocean

We just got back from a lovely holiday in the Le Meridien Ile Maurice Mauritius. The hotel is set right on the beach with incredible views. The food in the ala carte restaurants and buffet was good and buffet for dinner had a wide selection of food. Breakfast did not have a variety of fresh fruits. Vik and Perschel in Paparazzi were very good. We had our birthdays there and it was wonderful with a lot of surprises. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. We are very grateful to Shaleel, he went above and beyond making our holiday incredible and making us feel like we were special. He done an excellent job for us and we are very thankful to him. Thank you to Nelly front office manager, the team of butlers and cleaners who did a wonderful job, especially Lilah. We would recommend this hotel.

Property is amazing, huge, clean, with the beautiful view, big pool, ocean access, private beach, couple of water activities included. Food buffet is great, huge variety of food with a great quality, but no drinks included, which is terribly shame for the hotel this level (be ready to pay for the glass of water with your dinner). And also stuff, the weakest point in this hotel. Reception is terribly slow and not really helpful. Very poor communication and customer support. Impossible to reach the reservation team when u need them. They always don't know anything and can't do anything. We really got more nice words and help from the maid (she was incredibly sweet, we left money on the table in the room, she put them in the envelope, and wrote a message for us, super honest and nice lady) compared to the managers on the reception. Surprise Honeymoon made special

We arrived on the 3rd June for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived to our final departure we both had the most amazing experience. Brain, Axel, James, Owen all the restaurant staff the room maids there are to many to thank and this extends the management team WOW you are unbelievable. We wanted for nothing. I was refereed to as Mr James on day 2, my wife could not have wanted for anything drink food at the beach it was there as soon as it was mentioned, and most of the time we didn't even ask ;-) The last evening we had the most amazing surprise as a gift from the hotel. this was set up in a cunning way by the senior management team... not going into detail... they arranged as secret romantic meal for two on the pier that night, the whole experience was so emotional for both of us. we have never been away before and had this type of treatment, for the entire honeymoon we have been made to feel special, thank you to all the staff, management at the Le Meridien lle Maurice you are amazing.

A beautiful resort with beautiful views and great service. The scenery is spectacular and it is so relaxing to spend time there. I want to mention my Butler Kesavan for his service during my stay. A shout out to Nicolas Arekion, the F&B Sevice Manager, is also necessary for his valuable help during my stay. All in all, a place I would definitely visit again. Loved it. Le Meridien Ile Maurice will stay in my memories for ever.

Beautiful hotel however could be better

After staying at their sister property Westin for a few nights before this I can say that Westin is a few superior hotel!! Westin had ample amount of staff whereas here I feel like they can recruit more staff to make it more comfortable for guests. I do agree with a lot of other guests that the front of house staff needs more training and they’re never sure about anything. I had a bad start whilst checking in my husband mentioned he’s a gold elite member, which they should’ve known anyway as we booked directly with marriot however they dismissed this and didn’t give us the upgrade (as gold members you get an upgrade if available) we got to our room it wasn’t an upgrade my husband mentioned it to the staff that escorted us he said he will sort it out. It wasn’t sorted after waiting several hours and several phone calls, manager Artee came and took control of the whole situation and took us to a different room and she has made sure our stay is a comfortable. She gave me her direct line number to call her if we need anything. She has made the stay better for us. If it wasn’t for her then this would’ve been a terrible stay. The buggy staff are very friendly but again the restaurant can do with more staff, some days I’ve had to ask several times for a high chair or just something simple like a glass of water. Personally if I visit Mauritius again I would stay at Westin again as I was highly impressed with the service there.

Beautiful hotel. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming but the the exceptional service given by Mr Preshal Guness was second to none. He and the Chef of Paparazzi Restaurant went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Special thanks to Mr Luveen and Mr bheemesh for having been so attentive to our needs. Really impressed by their service. Hats off to these wonderful people who always served with a smile! Will come back again!

The Nirvana experience and the staff are what make this hotel!

We stayed at Le Meridien from the 26th May-5th June in room 428 (Nirvana Deluxe Room with a garden view) on an all inclusive basis. Negatives: - The Garden view wasn't great (it overlooks a road with some trees inbetween) but we weren't bothered as we didn't sit on the balcony anyway - The All Inclusive package wasn't always great. Cocktails you'd expect as standard weren't included (Cosmopolitan, Margherita for example), and quite a lot of the hotel cocktails on the menu weren't included. The food menus we also felt were quite limited in what they offered, with not a lot of choice considering there were only 2 A La Carte restaurants in the hotel (Kumin and Nomad are both buffet). The only plus was that you weren't limited on how many times you could eat at each restaurant during your stay which is better than many All Inclusives. - The beach was not as it appeared in the photos online, it's pretty rocky! Sandy areas if you want to swim are also limited - there were only 2 areas roped off for swimming across the whole length of the hotel. - This is the big negative for us personally... my husband booked a private wine tasting on the jetty at sunset as a surprise for our wedding anniversary. This was all booked in advance prior to us arriving, and he was advised that it would just be us and the Sommelier on the jetty, and Security would be there to ensure it was private. On the day of the wine tasting, the set up on the jetty was beautiful and Kenny (our Sommelier) did a great job making us feel comfortable with the help of Greg (despite it being Greg's first week at Le Meridien, he was so friendly, attentive, and keen to do the best job he could, even risking his life to get the perfect photo of us :) ) with lovely food pairings, and sharing knowledge of the wines with us. The huge downside was that there was no security in sight, and the jetty was full of other people who had gathered there to see the sunset. Guests were approaching us to see what we were eating (and generally being nosey), and it wasn't the private experience my husband had paid for or was promised. Kenny could see our frustrations and promised that he would organise another wine tasting for us the following evening and ensure it was the private and special evening we had initially intended it to be. Low and behold, Kenny and the team really pulled it off the second time around (Security were in attendance this time, and Tony even took on a Security role himself!)! We had a beautiful table on the end of the jetty, which was completely private and undisturbed. The Sommelier team even gave us a cake with 'sorry' written on it, even though it wasn't their fault it didn't go right the first time. Kenny then had a private table set up for us on the beach at Zoli Mamzel for dinner afterwards where he paired wines with our dinner choices for us - he really made us feel like we were the only guests there and it was such a special evening. The hotel really need to take learnings from the problems during our first experience as there was clearly some miscommunication somewhere during our first experience. Positives: - If you are a couple then we thoroughly recommend upgrading to Nirvana. When we walked around the rest of the hotel, the vibe was totally different and much noisier and I don't think we would have enjoyed our stay as much as we did if we hadn't upgraded. We personally prefer the 'adults only' option - we could count on two hands how many people were sat around the Nirvana pool every day and it was so quiet! The exclusive Nirvana guest access to paparazzi for breakfast was great too, and we really miss the views over the beach - We recommend visiting in their Winter as we did. It rained the day we arrived, the day we left, and there were brief showers once or twice whilst we were eating breakfast/lunch so it didn't affect us at all. The weather was great and it generally rains less over their Winter than it does in the Summer months (plus it's quieter - the hotel was only at 50% capacity we were told!). - The Nirvana room was stunning! Snacks and drinks in the mini bar are replenished daily and included (incl. Pringles, nuts, beer, soft drinks and wine). - The watersports offer was great - paddleboarding, kayaking, glass bottom boat, peddle boats, windsurfing all available and included (not sure if that's for any board or just All Inclusive) - The Staff! We would really like to mention some of the staff who helped make our holiday extra special. If it wasn't for them, unfortunately we wouldn't be writing a 5 star review after the anniversary issues we had! Santy, Vik & the whole Paparazzi team - Despite an issue with the booking we had made for dinner at Paparazzi on our wedding anniversary which meant they didn't have a table for us, the team went out of their way to make it up to us on our last night with a special table and cake. It really did help make it all better! Sheila in Housekeeping - We felt like we had a 'holiday mum' in Sheila. She left us a lovely note on our wedding anniversary, and the next day she returned with a beautiful wooden engraved '1st anniversary' keyring which had our names on. She really looked after us! Luveen at Kumin - Such a lovely guy who always greeted us with a genuine smile. He always made us feel so welcome. Shaked & Lukshmi in the Butler team - Always checked in to see how we were getting on, and were happy to help with anything to ensure our holiday was perfect. Kenny, Greg (Claine) & Tony in the Sommelier team - We can't thank them enough for making so much effort during our wine tastings, making us feel so special and ensuring we had the best experience possible. It really is something we will never forget.

I have to be honest, we were overwhelmed from the very first step in your resort, welcomed by your gorgeous reception staff and meeting Tony. With an incredible warmth and attention to detail in everything the staff made every day of our stay beyond our expectations. With a kind care of Sivani our room was always cleaned with care and a personal touch. We would like to say thank you to all everybody from the front office, concierge and guest relations team, I regret I don’t remember the name of the lady from the guest relations, who saved us from the rain on our last evening, but it has become a real highlight. And of course, we would like to express our biggest gratitude to the inspiring team of Mr. Alexis, to sommeliers, to the team of Zoli Mamzel and Nomad. Special thanks to Jo-Ann, Alexis, Nicolas, Nelissa and all of you, who made every day of our vacation special, personal, full of emotions, impressions and memories. We stayed at the hotel Meridien ile Maurice for our Anniversary! I am lost for words in how beautiful the hotel was, how well we were looked after by the managers Mr Shahyad and Mr Dursan. the butler team especially luxmi and Shaleel were fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. Sudesh (head of housekeeping) came to see if we needed anything 3 times a day. Not to forget the special romantic deco they did for us every evening to look forward to was so amazing and heart warming! What a hotel and what great service! Will definitely go back… The food at all 4 restaurants had so much variety and was maintained always with high standards and expectations. They had an Italian, Indian and a seafood restaurant, The main restaurant had themes everyday so no food was the same. all 3 swimmig pools were all different but large at the same time. We stayed at the Nirvana suite with a plunge pool. There is entertainment including games and music every night. Thank You hotel Meridien xx

The best hotel ever! Truly exceptional!

Wow, this was genuinely my most favourite hotel ever! We wanted for absolutely nothing! They have literally thought of everything you might need for a truly fabulous holiday! We stayed in the Nirvana end of the hotel, which is for adults only. We had the most enormous apartment! It was huge and could have fitted an entire family in it! We had a huge bed, a walk-in shower, a roll top bath, three sinks, three wardrobes, drawers galore, two huge tv’s, a fridge, a huge sofa, fruit, wine, drinking water, toiletries, a sarong, a sun hat, a magnifying mirror, a hairdryer, USB charging sockets, iron and ironing board, there was even an umbrella in the wardrobe, in case it rained! We even had our own private plunge pool in our garden/patio! The hotel has four beautiful restaurants. Each of the restaurants were all absolutely outstanding. The Paparazzi was my absolute favourite, which was beautiful Italian food. The staff were just such beautifully kind people in this restaurant. We sat each morning on the beach, eating our food and embracing the stunning view! The Kumin Indian restaurant was my second favourite restaurant, as the food was just so delicious and so fresh! There was also a Mediterranean restaurant with a sea view and the main themed buffet restaurant called the Nomad. Now I don’t usually eat buffet food, but this was all made fresh and was really beautifully displayed! All of the food was so fresh, of a beautiful quality and prepared to your specific requirements. I suffer with a number of food allergies and intolerances. The manager of each restaurant took the time to consider these and ensured they were considered with every meal. Usually, finding suitable foods abroad can be so difficult, or people don’t take this seriously, but here, I ate with confidence every day and not once did I require any emergency medication! The staff went above and beyond to ensure I could eat a beautiful meal every day, without making me feel like I was being difficult! This alone is a unique and exceptional experience and service! The hotel is huge and has so many facilities on offer. There are three huge swimming pools, with hammocks, sun beds, pool bars. There’s a spa with a steam room and sauna and a snow room! There is a gym available 24/7, with the most amazing staff member to support and encourage you, even if you are not too confident in attending the gym! The support and kindness shown by the man who worked in the gym, went above and beyond and was truly exceptional! The bar staff were so friendly and always smiling, especially in the main bar in the reception area. At night we would spend our evenings there and they made our evenings fun and friendly with their kindness and hilarious humour! There was entertainment each night with my favourite being a disco on the weekend! We danced until the early hours and there was an amazing fun atmosphere! Each night after our entertainment, there were fabulous staff at the front door, waiting to drive us back to our end of the complex, in the little buggies! This was a fantastic service, as they got to know us and knew after all of my dancing, that my feet would need carefully lifting directly to my front door! There were staff every day checking in on us to see if we needed anything, or if we wanted to book a meal for that evening! They were full of knowledge and information and ready to help with any given situation. There were staff constantly cleaning not only our rooms, but equally the entire complex. The place was beautifully clean and nothing was too much trouble, if you asked for anything additional. The staff at this hotel were the people who really made our stay so exceptional. They made us feel like royalty and as if nothing was too much to ask. The Mauritian people are just so kind, so beautiful and have such a lovely warm and friendly approach towards tourists. We felt so safe during our stay. We didn’t meet one rude or unhelpful person during our entire stay. Even the managers were all welcoming and friendly towards us. The location is close to both Grande Bay, where there’s a beautiful stunning beach and designer shops and Port Louis, which is the capital has lots of bargain shops and traditional foods in the market place. The staff at Le Meridien Hotel really made our holiday so special, that we didn’t want to leave! Sachin in the gym was so amazingly kind and helpful in assisting my husband when he was injured on the beach. He welcomed us into the gym every day and inspired my husband to use the gym, whether on holiday or back at home! Luveen worked tirelessly in the Italian Paparazzi restaurant and knew exactly what our regular order was for breakfast each morning, without us even reminding him. He always greeted us with a lovely smile. The other staff who served us breakfast every morning in Paparazzi restaurant were all equally adorable, respectful and delightfully helpful. Vic, also from the Paparazzi Restaurant was just so helpful and supportive with my allergies and ensured I didn’t eat anything that would kill me off! He always made sure my medical issues were taken seriously and was just so kind. Nicolas who was a manager went out of his way to check in with us, to make sure we were ok and took time to talk to us whenever he saw us. Ashwin was just the kindest most amazing bar tender ever. Every day he greeted us with an amazing smile and was so funny and made us laugh and was always happy and welcoming! He is a natural born entertainer! Alex was the best barman and hugely deserved his award of best barman, as he made the most amazing mocktails for me! No-one else could match the amazing flavours and combinations that he created. He just got it perfect every single time! And he was also a really kind and caring person, in addition to making such fabulous drinks! Nelly was one of the managers and was so caring when my husband was injured, and she came over to ensure he was ok. Juliano was the best entertainment organiser, with the most fabulous taste and knowledge in music! I’m a musicaholic, but he really gave me a run for my money with his knowledge! And boy does he love to dance, especially Mauritian sega music! He taught me all about the local music and dance, which really made my holiday! Hachimi was the sweetest, loveliest doorman, who ensured we were carefully and safely driven back to our apartment every night. He was just such a really beautiful person. Kavish was so patient and helpful in trying to find the perfect wine for my husband, and nothing was too much trouble for him. Liliah was a very kind and sweet cleaner who took the time to ask how I was each day. Moorghen was such a funny bar tender with a really great sense of humour, but also, he bent over backwards to support us every day, whichever bar he was working at! Alledsandfo was not only a bar tender, but was one of my unofficial sega dancing teachers and dancing buddies and he was just absolutely lovely! Arun was kind and helpful every day at the bar and was a really lovely person. Kesaven and Lexmi were both just very helpful and knowledgeable and resolved any issues. They booked our evening meals for us wherever we wanted to go to eat. Kesaven would pick us up and drop us off, whenever needed and he went above and beyond to make sure we were ok during our stay. Preshal at the Kumin Indian restaurant was so funny and made us laugh, but was so careful to make sure my allergies were seriously considered with any food ordered. Brian was a bar tender but was also the best sega dancer on the complex! He moved his hips to sega music like a professional dancer! He danced constantly, whilst working really hard every day! He just loved his music and loved to dance, and he never stopped smiling! Owen was a bar tender who although he was young, he knew the Eagles music! I am still waiting for him to sing Hotel California in karaoke with me! Such a lovely young man! We will definitely be returning, not only to this paradise island, but to this amazing hotel! Thank you to each and every staff member that took the time to contribute to making our stay so exceptional!

The hotel itself is lovely, right on the beach, and rooms are spacious. The bathroom is large, with separate shower and toilet. My shower was leaking into the bathroom, making the floor wet and a slip hazard. Wifi and aircon are good. Two issues. The breakfast is very sub-standard for this type of hotel, and the fruit wasnt fresh. The other issue is that some staff really struggle with speaking English

The staff is totally unprofessional, no basic standard etiquettes. Even if ur room is ready , doesn’t matter to them that u had a morning flight , u r tired , they will make u wait till 3 pm. Waiters are next level rude. House keeping staff will check ur rooms three times ( god knows for what ) fridge inventory , general checking , and again some kind of inventory checking. They are more like inspectors, checking ur rooms without warrant. Again and again I will press on saying horrible staff management. If u r on half bord , food is not really that nice.

We had an amazing holiday. The hotel is lovely, a great setting directly looking out onto a long sandy beach. Food is excellent, lots of good options in the main buffet restaurant, but three Al a carte restaurants offer quality dishes. In Kumin Indian we had one of the best Indian meals we have ever had. Excellent facilities. The free boat for snorkelling on a nearby reef, meant we could see lots of tropical fish. The staff are friendly and very helpful- this hotel has the best service we have experienced at a hotel. Always willing to do extra to give us an excellent holiday. Aziza at reception was amazing, she gave us an excellent welcome making us instantly feel at home. Shaleel, the butler was very friendly and helpful making arrangements for us. Rosham and Adarsh were great bartenders, putting extra effort in making the drinks we wanted Special thanks to Axel, Nicol and Ashley for their friendly service Luxmin for her great hospitality Special thanks to Namartha’s team for their excellent work keeping the room so clean and turning down the bed each evening. Definitely made this a very special holiday. Small negatives - all the pools are currently unheated (although there is a heated jacuzzi). We were told however that the hotel is considering heating one of the main pools. As much as the main beach is sandy, as you enter the sea the bottom becomes stoned/rocky. Beautiful hotel, just a shame the service wasn’t there to match

This is a tough review. I wanted to the hotel to be so much more, but it just failed to deliver a 5* (let alone 3*) service to match. The hotel itself is beautiful with well-kept grounds. The open foyer is breath-taking and has a real vibe about it. We were made to feel incredibly welcome upon arrival with a refreshing drink and cold towel, followed by introductions from the management and kids club staff. The room was much bigger than expected and perfect for a family with a dividing screen between our bed and the kids’ sofa bed area. We were just opposite the water sports hut, and it was a great location in the centre of the area between the kids club and the reception. Room service was hit and miss though and in our 7 nights we only had the turndown service twice. The kid’s club was one of the best we’ve experienced on a long haul holiday with plenty to do for my youngest (8). He was made to feel very welcome, and the little plunge pool was an added attraction for him. The staff were superb and very friendly when out and about. Our main issue was the food and beverage service. This was way below par (and is a common thread on these reviews). Each night we’d head to the beautiful Zoli bar to have a sundowner cocktail before dinner. We’d be one of a handful of tables there at this time but never got asked if we’d like a drink or to see a menu. Night after night it was the same. We could be there 15-20 minutes before we got up and asked for a menu ourselves. We were not on an AI package and paid for all of our drinks, but it was like they didn’t want the money. It became a bit of a game for us each nigh to see how bad the service could get. One night we were invited to the “manager’s cocktails” in the same bar so the team could gather people’s experience of their holiday so far, which happened to be the day we’d ordered a drink at 18:25 and at 18:55 it still hadn’t turned up! On this same night we had a table booked a the Zoli restaurant for 19:00 so we sat down promptly and then ordered our food at 19:15. Our starters turned up at 19:40 and were cleared at 19:55. At 20:30 we enquired (politely) where our food was, to be told “it’s coming, it’s coming” during which time we’d seen other families eat a 3 course meal and go. Bearing in mind we were the first people in the restaurant to order, at 20:45 we got up and walked out. We never make a scene but, on the way out, we asked to speak to a manager and made it very clear how disappointed we were. They pleaded with us to stay and that the food was “minutes away” but when it turned up, it wasn’t even what we had ordered. The theme of the F&B experience across the whole holiday was consistently poor no matter where or when we ate. Little things like nothing came out together, 3 of us would finish our pizza / salads at the Paparazzi bar before my husband’s burger would arrive. The breakfast farcical – I’ve had better service in a Premier Inn. The general theme was you’d ask for something (“a fork, a cup, a sweetener”) and you could place bets on never seeing that individual again. People would be shown to a table and then ask for a coffee but give up waiting, instead head inside and grab some breakfast only to find someone sitting at their table upon their return. Even in the most basic 2* hotels you show someone to a table then bring a coffee or tea within minutes. We’d find a table outside and someone would say “give me 1 minute and I’ll come back and clean it for you” but be stood there for 10 minutes for them to never return. I am a firm believe in you get what you pay for. I work in the industry and travel a great deal for business and pleasure with my expectations matching the brand and the price I’ve paid. Serious training needs to take place to meet the 5* standards people expect of this brand of hotel. We did complain and were offered a complimentary lunch the following day which was a nice gesture and was accepted. We later met a couple at the wine tasting (which I highly recommend) who had experienced the same poor service as us but had been moved to the Nirvana part of the complex as an apology and given the wine tasting for free! To end on a positive note, I want to say how wonderful the beach BBQ under the marquee was and give a shout out a couple of key members of staff: Nicholas in the pool bar (and sometimes the main buffet breakfast) was superb. He offered the service that everyone else should be offering. Also, Vivek S at the pool bar very shy but very polite and always smiling. I look at the reviews of late and often wonder if we were just very unlucky, but I don’t think that’s the case. You should always take your most negative reviews seriously, so I do hope the management read this and take the feedback into account as the hotel really does have all of the ingredients to be perfect under the right management.

I stayed in this hotel with my partner on our honeymoon. On 18th July, 2023 I took a dip in the Plunge pool (private pool inside our room which is in our backyard (outdoor). While being inside the pool I saw a rodent running just our through the plants and got myself out of this pool. i started developing severe skin rashes after this event. Very next day I complained to the management about this event. They took no action to check if there is any external contamination in the pool water. They informed me PH level a d chlorine level is fine. This is the most expensive suite room inside this Le Meridien hotel. I am someone who frequently travel globally and uses swimming pools and never had such issues before. But this was really bad for me and need to get back to my home country and see my doctor to decide what’s the cure. I am under severe pain and stress due to this. If anyone reading this has similar experience to mine, please drop a comment and we can file a lawsuit against this company. I firmly believe they don’t purify water accordance to global standards.
