We had the best time ever at this resort. Our stay was very personalised, we felt recognised and valued by each and every single staff member. Harrish, Guest Relations, was really helpful, but so was everyone else. From house keeping, to dining, to general walking around the resort, to the private island. A stay of two weeks, during which time the hotel management and staff went to great lengths to make our holiday memorable. My husband was suffering from mobility problems and a wheel chair was immediately provided. To enable access to various areas we had to avoid steps. There are corridors for staff via tunnels without steps. Kamel, the butler, would collect my husband when we needed to go anywhere and to negotiate the tunnels. He was the most caring and helpful member of staff one could wish for sorting any problems or requests we had. Thanks to Kamel and all other members of staff, from the catering staff to the beach assistants, from top management to cleaners, everyone without exception made our trip a success. World class hotel in paradise

We stayed at Shangri la for 4 nights (husband and I). Well what can I say? It’s a world class hotel, probably the best I’ve ever stayed in. We were allocated a room in the frangipani wing (Room 250), we were swept away with the highest level of service, cleanliness and quality throughout our stay. The frangipani rooms are worth shelling out for namely for the room size and also since the mini bar charged are covered. It is also near adults only pool and the spa which also helped. We dined in Kushi, Safron and ale Bazaar. Kushi was my favourite and I sampled some of the best sushi ever, it was so good we booked to eat there again. We also loved the private island that we had access to, owned by the hotel. We indulged on pizza twice for lunch - it was truly amazing pizza. We will most definitely be returning here again, we felt it was a splurge and a stretch of our budget but totally worth every cent! Having stayed in many 5-star hotels across the world including Shangri La hotels in the far east and another 5-star hotel in Mauritius a few years back, this is without a doubt a top of the list place to stay. It’s my last day here with 1-year old twins and family and I don’t normally have the time to write reviews but this has been a stand-out holiday. Our wonderful experience started when we were picked up from the airport and at check-in which was swift and informative. The breakfast team cater for every diverse need. They are attentive and so accommodating as are the staff at the Bazar restaurant who have a brilliant selection of foods and they do their best to make you something extra special if you want to sample something different. We also found the head chef and his team at the Saffron restaurant extremely helpful making us delicious indian dishes with such lovely flavours. The Saffron chef came to our table to speak to us to check that the food was good as did other staff and chefs from the Bazar restaurant - it was always very tasty. The quality and freshness of the food was spot on. The in-room dining team as well as all the chefs not only provided such good flavoursome food for the adults but also the twins who loved the food and all the attention from the staff. The house keeping team made our stay very comfortable with superb cleaning and amenities in the room and the beach and pool people proactively delivered food and towels. There are resident tortoises and a great kids / baby club. The grounds are remarkably well maintained making the whole experience magical. The people who drive the carts take you on a lovely tour around the hotel - the hotel is vast with amazing greenery, gardens and scenery. What I particularly found helpful was how the full team regularly sought feedback from us giving us an opportunity to flag anything we needed. We felt the culture was so open and friendly. This hotel is particularly unique in that you can hop onto a complimentary boat that takes you to a private island where you can also relax and enjoy lovely food. If you are seeking a luxury experience and trawl through trip advisor like me to find the best hotels, I would definitely recommend this hotel whether you are coming as a couple or family. A very special holiday

We had a fantastic holiday celebrating my husband’s 70th Birthday and our 45th (Sapphire) anniversary. The location was superb, the food was amazing and the service was second to none. Deepmala was overseeing our room and did everything over and beyond our requests to make sure we had a wonderful holiday. All the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The Garden of Eden

A lovely taste of paradise in the garden of eden. The hotel complex was luxurious, all overlooking the ocean, the food at all the various restaurants was delicious with every taste catered for and if that was not enough the chefs would prepare anything you asked for there and then, nothing was too much to ask for. All staff at the various departments were so polite and friendly, special mentions to housekeeping staff Wendy and Deepala, also beach staff Sohail and chefs Richie, Sabrina who looked after us so well, and to all the staff we came into contact with including Deepak, Daniel and Silvio. Simply relax on the beach or take part in the numerous activities at the hotel. Entertainment was laid on every evening at the bar where Abdellah looked after us very well as we enjoyed some very talented Mauritian groups bands and musicians. A beautiful holiday to remember and to which we shall be returning next year. One thing to note is the night flight 12 hours from the UK which was tiring, next time we will break our journey in Dubhai.

A fantastic much needed holiday!

I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped us have one of our most memorable holidays. We came for 7 nights to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. Deepmala decorated our room with heart shaped balloons and fresh rose petals and presented us with cake and champagne! It was really special! Also a special thanks to the head chef at Kushi! We were seated by the chefs table and got the best experience watching the chef at work! His skill and attention to detail was mesmerising to watch! By far my favourite and the best sushi I have ever had! Highly recommended, it was so nice we went twice. Also a special thanks to Abhishek who looked after us both at breakfast and at Safran! He went out of his way to make us stuffed aloo parathas at breakfast with pickle and yoghurt on a few occasions. And the dinner at Safran was so good and can understand why they were busy all the time. Only downside was we requested the currys extra spicy which they couldn't fulfil. But the quality of the food nevertheless was excellent! Staff around the pool and beach were attentive, friendly and always carried a smile on their faces! The daily ice cream were a much needed treat in the heat. the private island was amazing and a nice perk of the hotel. Ponien (I think that's his name) from the private island looked after us very well at the island and at breakfast. the pizza is a must order. Kishun at the Gym was very helpful and supportive in setting up a routine for me to stick to. He took time out to show me a number of exercises to help with my fitness goals and provided valuable insight which I am carrying out today so a big thanks to him! We done the e-bike tour where we went to the local market. We tried local foods and they took us to some local sites such as the South Coast beach which was very beautiful. A big thank you to Mary-Jane he took us on the bike tour. She looked after us very well. Only downside was a whole bunch of flies entered our room on the last night where there was some rainfall. Unfortunately, it was not resolved when we raised it the next morning but we managed to see it out. All in all, a fantastic much needed holiday!

Spectacular 5* Resort in Mauritius

We have just come back from the most amazing stay at Shangri La Le Tousserok Mauritus. We were there for 9 nights to celebrate both mine and my partners birthdays and the resort and staff went absolutely out of their way to make our experience special and memorable. From our swift and personal check in with Prince, to our amazing frangipani suite, we were absolutely wowed by the room and gorgeous views over the crystal clear waters. We were greeted by our butler Kevin who ensured our restaurant reservations were made for our stay. The restaurants were out of this world, absolutely fantastic quality and some of the best food we have ever experienced in a resort. We would like to give a special mention to the staff members that really made our trip, they were so wonderful, attentive and welcoming from beginning to end. Reza at sega bar, Pravesh at Kushi, Sada and Kevin butlers, Sanjiv and Isabelle housekeepers, Martine at republik and Devika at the beach and pool. We cannot wait to come back and visit your resort again in the near future.

This was our second time to stay at this wonderful resort. It was even more special this time as it was our wedding. It was just perfect from start to finish. Was there last week end....the welcome by the staff was fantastic; superb choice at breakfast - and diner was simply too good- Republik and the Japanese restaurant are excellent. Amenities in the room and service are 5 star...even Occitane products !!!

It is my second time in this hotel. And it’s got worse :( The rooms became more older, some mold in shower. The beach is not as well as on picture and the hotel doesn’t ménage to take off all the waterplants. Territory is big but nowhere to go. Service in main restaurant is slow. Previous time I’ve been there, they were preparing a perfect shisha, but they don’t do it anymore. I am disappointed.

We felt everything was perfect and every single member of staff was incredible, thoughtful and kind. We have an endless list of the names of people who made our stay the most memorable ever. This was our most favourite holiday! Below is only a few names we had noted but every single person we met deserves to be recognised for making it so special. The names are: Ashwin, Clarell, Wenda, Natasha, Majorie, Martine, Nepaul, Prince, Merlin and Mani. We enjoyed every moment and we cannot wait to go back again. The attention to detail from the moment we arrived to our departure was just indescribable. Honestly, no words will be able to describe the experience because this was really paradise on earth! the level of service here was exceptional, every single staff were attentive and went above and beyond. We felt valued from start to finish and everything was taken care of.. so much to do at the resort, we barely had to leave it! so much variety for food, the rooms, the views, the service are all 10/10.. was so sad to leave! i dont remember every staffs name but a special shout out to Abishek, the Indian chef for making our curries spicy as we requested!!

I dont think I can do this hotel justice by writing this review as no words can describe how utterly wonderful our holiday has been and let’s put the beautiful resort and it’s surroundings aside (as it really is sheer paradise)it’s the staff that make this a truly memorable and unforgettable experience. We came here to celebrate my son’s second birthday and our anniversary and from the moment we arrived it has just been the most wonderful experience. My son is a bit of a fussy eater and after a day of travelling I was worried he would not eat anything but the fabulous team at Bazar restaurant just understood his needs and he ate everything furthermore the team are so affectionate and caring and made a stressed out mummy relax. There are so many people to thank but in particular I would like to thank Ahmed, Viren and Ritchie for always cooking up the most delicious food and the waiting staff Suzy, Babita, Mirella you really did make everything so perfect and also the lady who arranged our aloo parathas so sorry we didn’t get your name. Housekeeping were amazing our rooms were always immaculate. Such attention to detail. A special thank you to Kamal and Kiran. Everyone is so kind and the service received from every single person is out of this world it’s so nice to see managers come and talk to you and know who you are that personal touch is just brilliantl. We were delighted to be offered an upgrade at the start of our holiday which got us off to the absolute perfect start. The Frangipani rooms are just stunning and included a mini bar plus a daily sunset cocktail hour as well as a butler and lovely products in the room. All of the rooms have beautiful views of the beach and I can't believe there would be a bad room. The staff make the resort - every single member of staff we interacted with was friendly, genuine and professional. It is a very luxurious, chilled out hotel without a snooty feel. There was plenty to do in the resort and we enjoyed daily strolls along the beach, a visit to the island for lunch - the beaches over there really are amazing too and better for swimming as the hotel beach is surrounded by a calm, shallow lagoon. We also took an e-bike tour with Rosario which we thoroughly enjoyed. We covered a distance but the bikes were a pleasure to ride and the scenery was just stunning - a definite recommended activity. We also booked an island tour with an external tour company and as hard as it was to leave the resort for the day, we're glad we did as the beauty of Mauritius just has to be seen. All meals were delicious with a wide variety to choose from. Breakfast on the beach was a treat with sparkling wine one day but the buffet breakfasts were also fantastic with so much choice. We'd pre-booked Kushi and Safraan but the resort was pretty quiet so it may have been possible to book once we'd arrived. Both signature restaurants were fantastic and it was nice to enjoy a leisurely dinner for a change from the buffet restaurant - though that was also very enjoyable. We tended to aim for the same spot on the beach and Stephan gave the best service with a smile, arranging our towels, water, fruit kebabs and afternoon ice cream - even cleaning our sunglasses. If you're hesitating over which hotel to choose, don't hesitate any longer. I'd go back again in a heartbeat and hopefully one day we will return to live the dream again!

Wow. Just wow. This hotel is just something else. From the minute you walk in, you feel like you are in heaven. - Accommodation: We stayed in one of the premium rooms (with butler service), and the room was out of this world. The attention to detail, comfort, choice of drinks, sea views were 10/10. - Breathtaking beaches, with crystal clear water. Plenty of very comfortable sun beds, and very private. - Free water-sports was a massive bonus. I certainly made use of the wind surfing! - Food was incredible (lots of choice for vegetarians) - Outstanding Service: The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is unforgettable. Their warm hospitality and genuine care make you feel like a cherished guest, adding an extra touch of luxury to your experience. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It was absolutely prefect. Although this is an expensive hotel, I believe it's worth every penny. This is a vacation we will never forget! Thank you so much Shangri-La for exceeding our honeymoon expectations, and the honeymoon upgrade.

Our vacation was astounding. The high quality of service and attention to detail remains. Saffron Chef Abhishek had a very good expression on us, who made outstanding food for us. Chef Dev in the absence of the head chef he made us healthy and delicious food. Chef's assistant, Curpen was very energetic and always made sure we always enjoyed our food. Due to our late flight the staff extended our checkout till evening for which we are very grateful. Overall, we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Great service from the hotel, especially Nish and Deepmala. Main disappointment was the prices at the restaurants, the food was quite average for the prices charged, none of us in our group could understand how the prices were justified. Even the breakfast for this brand was lack lustre. Chef Ahmed was great but the breakfast offer needs a lot of work. The highlight of our stay was the dine by design on which Mr Subiraj and his team did a fantastic job. Kunal our waiter was outstanding. I would highly recommend this option. Thank you again Mr Subiraj and Kunal for making this so memorable.

Perfect hotel

People always say ‘I have stayed in the best hotels all over the world’ which then allows them to make comment on how great their hotel is in the grand scheme. And I’m sure in most readers this induces something of an eye roll. That said, I have stayed in lots of five star big brand hotels over the world (eye roll). My weakness is a well run five star hotel with high quality rooms, great food and perfect service. Well this hotel is it- it is perfect. I’m afraid to say that I was worried about it being old as I read the hotel was originally built 20 years ago but Shangri la took over in 2015 and I don’t know how much renovation they had to do but it feels very modern and high quality. We stayed in one of their top rooms a one bed suite with separate living area. It was divine. Big comfortable bed, two massive flat screen Apple TV. Great air con. Massive bathroom with big walk in shower and double sinks. Aqua di Parma toiletries and endless towels. Big gym with three cross trainers. Never had to wait for a machine. Best massage we’ve had at their Chi Spa. I’m still here and want to go back to my cocktail on my sunbed on my balcony so in short- food is excellent at all the restaurants and in room dining where we tried the fillet steak and catch of the day. And most importantly, the service is exemplary. Everyone is so unfailing polite and charming and helpful. I never return to a hotel but I think I might just have to with this one as it is perfect! I really can’t see how they could improve it. Thank you Shangri La and all your staff. Especially Kevin and Vital our butlers, Owen on the beach (and Nishy and Annee for my partners birthday card and cake).

Impressive resort in the best location

The resort has a great if not the best location on the island that does not feel touristy, plus guests have access to a private island a short boat ride across the lagoon. My spa massage was amazing and the breakfast buffet offering was impressive. Service and hospitality were great. We have spent out summer holiday as a family here over 6 times. The highlights are the activities and the PEOPLE. All activities are made available from ultimate relaxation and spa, to various ground sports and watersports. Over the years [since 2007!] we have gotten to know various employees [now friends] of the hotel, who have always made it an extra special holiday. From Ricardo and Guillaume in the Sports club, Lindlay at Front Desk, Bool at the buffet, Jean-francois at the boat house, and Jhumun at the pool - we always look forward to our next visit! The best holiday with a brand new baby

My husband and I decided to visit Shangri-La Le Touessrok with our baby, who turned 4 months while we were away. We both felt a little apprehensive ahead of going, we had no idea what to expect, and whether it would even feel like a holiday with a tiny baby, especially being so far from home. The Shangri-La was amazing, we couldn't have hoped for a better stay, the setting was gorgeous, the weather was great (winter in Mauritius so not too hot for our baby), food incredible, and the provisions in our room for our baby were brilliant (baby cot, steriliser, bath, playpen). In the resort itself while there are quite a few steps in the main hotel, staff practically fell over themselves to help us lift prams, direct us to lifts, rearrange sun-loungers to be in the shade, even knowing the temperatures of swimming pools to suggest we try warmer ones for our babies first swim! There is a kids club which we were a little late to try, but after we realised it was there we made full use of it, and felt so confident leaving our baby for a few hours to get some rest out on the beach. Nicholette looked after our baby incredibly well, making sure she knew where we would be if there were any issues (there weren't), and just making everything feel super easy. The staff at Shangri-La really made the difference, prior to becoming parents my husband and I have travelled fairly extensively, and we've never experienced such incredible customer service. In particular Jessica, the duty manager and Smita who greeted guests in the hotel lobby were just brilliant - we genuinely felt sad saying goodbye to both. Their friendliness, professionalism and warmth really added to our wonderful holiday. Our daughter agreed - we've rarely seen her as happy as when she was allowed a cuddle with both of them (which we tried to make sure happened every day)! We had the best holiday, and really hope to return! For those without babies, the hotel was gorgeous and felt incredibly luxurious, but with a baby we literally couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay.

This luxury resorts offers literally everything what you need for your dream vacation on this island. Service is just wonderful, everyone is kind and pleasant toward guests. Frangipani Club Junior Suite is just incredible high class suite, so clean, so fancy and really exposes tropical vibes. It's spacious and have a wonderful ocean view. Arrived at the Shangri-La Mauritius for my 40th Birthday and all I can say is WOW! From start to finish we were treated like kings and queens Our room (113) was located in the most perfect spot close to the main restaurants and also the jetty. We were the only ones on our beach most days as others went to the other beach which is bigger and less windy but the breeze for us was nice so we always stayed on our beach as we had a beach access room. The jetty was a 5 min walk and is perfect for going to the private island, we had lunch here one day and again treated like kings and queens, greeted upon arrival with cool towels and even cleaned our sunglasses for us, nothing is too much for the staff here its their pleasure, The food here is great, we were half board which we would recommend as there is no where close by to go out to eat, you also get to choose from 3 restaurants, the Horizon which is buffet style, Saffron which is Indian and there is also a Japanese restaurant you can use as part of half board. We ate in Horizon and Saffron and the food was amazing, the chicken tikka in Saffron was divine and also the risotto in the buffet restaurant was my favourite. Please note drinks are extra at dinner times. I want to give a shout out to Sahail who was our most amazing beach attendant. Sahail was there for us all day bringing us our complimentary water in a cooler box as soon as we arrived on the beach he was there helping us with our towels, bringing us nice cold sorbets, fresh fruit sticks and mouth watering coconuts and always stopped to have a chat with us. All of the staff we saw were so friendly and always said hello whether it be housekeeping, maintenance team, front desk etc Even the chefs would have a chat with you whilst getting food. So friendly. We also want to say book your boat trips with Joe (Neptune Pirate Co Ltd) Ask for Joe on arrival who will give you the best prices and the most amazing service from start to finish, we went on a private tour with our guide Sham who was a gentleman, he engaged with us from start to finish telling us the history of the island and again didn’t rush us on the trip at all. We went to see the water fountain, fed the monkeys, saw dolphins, parasailed (would highly recommend) snorkelled in the Indian Ocean and was served a beautiful fruit platter lunch. Sham even took the time to take us to the ATM at the end of our trip, Neptune Pirate Co Ltd are the most friendly and professional team, no pressure at all at purchasing a package, Joe tailors it to what you want to do from 2 hours to an all day trip and its all private so you get the boar to your self, amazing prices as well. I could go on and on about how amazing this hotel is, but its the staff that make it that amazing. Thank you for your hospitality and we can not wait to see you all again.

Perfect honeymoon

It was our honeymoon and guess it was the best decision to spend a few days at Shangri-la. Among those excellent experiences, I would say the service here was fantastic! All the staff were around us so that we can reach for help to them whenever and wherever. They were so friendly and warm. Especially we’re so thankful to “Deepmala”who was housekeeper during the holiday. She was so friendly and caring. When I asked for the place to dry my hair in the bathroom(there was no outlet), she brought a huge size of mirror to the bedroom so that I can look at my self while using dryer. It was so brilliant idea! Thank you again Deepmala. Also, the guy at the main entrance was also had been so helpful. To be honest, every staff here were remarkably warm and nice. It was such an unforgettable time for us. Will visit here again absolutely!

Perfect service in a sublime setting.

One of the best settings on the island - the beaches are sublime. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay special, with beautiful decorations on our beds, gifts and a cake for my son's birthday, and excellent service on the beach and in restaurants. Beds very comfortable! We were encouraged to upgrade to Frangipani rooms but stayed in the rooms we originally booked and didn't feel our experience was any less for it (but we were staying in a family suite with adjoining rooms, perhaps Frangipani rooms are better for couples!). Definitely recommend rooms on the ground floor with direct beach access though. We enjoyed sundowners on the beach, the live music every evening in the Sega bar, and the traditional shows on the stage overlooking the water. And do take a day to explore Mauritius - the geography of the island is incredible (visit the volcano, coloured earths, etc). Le Touessrok, I have known about you for 25 years, and now that I know you, I understand why you have the reputation you have!

Everything about this resort is perfect. The views, the pools, the beaches, the activities on offer and the excellent food. The resort offers so much to do and is incredibly family friendly but also felt very quiet and private! The staff at the resort are extremely attentive and friendly. They immediately make you feel like you have known them all for years. I would highly recommend this resort if your are visiting Mauritius!

One off. The best. Resorts I have visited in my. Life. Have been to 26 countries till time.. Stayed in good properties everywhere. But hospitality and Warmth of Shangri la Mauritius is just another. Level. They will run 15 miles extra to make. Your stay comfortable and adorable. There. Is Absolutely no Word as " NO" in this property. Whoever set. The code of conduct. Or the culture here. Kuddos to them. And the team now.

We were privileged to have a five-course meal cooked personally for us by talented Chef Harry Dangan at the Japanese restaurant Kushi. The blow-torched miso scallop was perfectly seared with a subtle sweetness from the miso glaze, while the Wagyu beef was a melt-in-your-mouth delight. Chef Harry Dangan's warm hospitality was evident from the moment we stepped into the restaurant, as he graciously welcomed us and took the time to explain every dish, making the dining experience truly exceptional and unforgettable.

The Hotel and Personnel are simply amazing! The ocean, the pool, the villa, and the activities were great. The staff are very friendly and spared no effort to attend to all our needs. The Butlers team were simply outstanding. They had great eye to detail and met all requests with a smile. They are very well-trained and made us feel at home! There are several individuals who stand out and deserve to be appreciated! Avi, Sweta, Ashwini, Chef Candeeah, Chef Ahmed, Monic, Tony are among the few who deserve special and sincere thanks! I do hope that the hotel under the very able management of Mr. Coquet will continue to deliver the top quality services by well-trained staff to ensure that every visit to Mauritius is as memorable.
