Amazing Solo experience!!

24 May 2023 | Q4355SCmk

What a fantastic birthday experience staying here at Lux Grand Baie!!!!! From the moment I walked in I was amazed at the stunning hotel. The hotel staff especially Vikram who was brilliant from the moment I checked in till my last day. As a female solo traveller, I felt very safe at all times. The drinks and food were delicious I mostly enjoyed dining at Ai Kisu. I enjoyed the water activities provided by the hotel, thank you to ALL the staff at the boat house who were just great. I cannot fault anything!! Thank you Jennifer for ensuring I received a birthday cake and Prosecco which I enjoyed sitting outside outside as the sunset. Beautiful views all around the hotel.

Wonderful experience

It was a wonderful stay. The Building ist built in a Minimalist Style with wood and is really Nice! The people are extremely friendly and helpful. The beach looks amazing, all the activites at the Beach Are cool. Fitness gives all possibilities to workout. We did to shiatsu massages and it was perfect to treat deep muscle problems. The people at the gym and spa are very kind. The food is fresh and excellent with many options as well as buffet. I strongly recommend to stay here !

Amazing experience at Lux Grand Baie Mauritius

22 May 2023 | Mendomp

We have experience LUX resorts before staying at Grand Gaube and Belle Mare in Mauritius so we traveled to Grand Baie from 17th April to 27th. First impressions of the entrance and reception was Wow. We booked and opted for the all Inclusive option which I would highly recommend. Rooms we stayed in one of the many junior suites which are on 3 levels fully supported with lifts and stairs across the area. We chose the 3rd level for better sunsets and views of the resort. The mini bar was restocked every day there was beer, wine and champagne as well as soft drinks, there was also a selection of nuts and snacks. Inside the room it was finished of to a very high standard, bed was so comfortable and the on-suite had a large bath and separate shower. Everything was spotlessly clean and maintained every day with a turn down service in the evening. The suites all look at to the sea so the balcony was a great place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine or ice cold beer. The Staff the only way I could cover this was not to include individual names because quite simply there were so many of them deserving praise. The levels of customer service was amongst the best we have ever experienced. This was not just the managers but from all of the staff at every level. Food We tried all of the restaurants which covered Mediterranean at Beach Rouge but they also held themed nights with lots of choice the Strip Steak was amazing there, its also the venue for breakfast which was inside or in the sun with so much choice and variation. Lunch was mostly at Bisou which offered a great selections of food but in the evening it became a high end Indian restaurant. The views from this location are stunning you can have your breakfast sat in the pool with the food in a floating basket. Then you have Al Kisu which provides Asian food to an outstanding quality, The Peking duck was the best I have ever had. It is based on the lower level and there is a night club Bar just across if you fancy a late night. Maison Lux does fantastic coffee which choices of pastries produced by a top French Chef. To summarize the food here is outstanding regardless of which restaurant you choose. Coupled with the high levels of service you would not be disappointment. Location/Resort It is right on the beach with good walks either side lots of activities including kids clubs and junior pools. We had great weather the 10 days we were there. The quieter pool and bar it at Bisou which is so relaxing and there is another one outside Beach Rouge. the gardens are in beautiful condition to say the resort has not been open for long and is full of Palm trees, shrubs and lots of colour. Spa We didn't have any treatments but used the pool because it is so tranquil so ideal if you want to relax or swim a few lengths. Overall this is a 5 star location its not the cheapest but you really get what you pay for with the quality and service. Excellent food and drinks choice including nice wines. We intend to go back in October this year its just an amazing beautiful place.

Relax Holiday option

21 May 2023 | zeynepkI6357ZV

I think it is the right choice for those who want to have a full hotel holiday to relax. The rooms are big and very stylish. I just think that most of the hotel staff have poor service experience. they can't act practically, you have to be patient about it, but our Butler mr. Vimal was really an excellent staff member at the hotel. He always solved all our needs very quickly and in the best way.

Very disappointed for my 3rd time there.

27 May 2023 | Jelina96

The staff at Beach rouge bar were impolite and unprofessional. There was a lady who was arrogant and one of the staff was even half drunk (we could tell by the smell and we even saw him drinking). However, some of Aikisu’s staff were amazing and the food was great.

most warm welcoming at a 5 star hotel!

27 May 2023 | sonysony2017

the professionalism of the team members spoke loudly through this memorable warm welcome, even being mauritian guests. with this overwhelming feeling, i would love to thank deeply Dishal, Vicky, Sanjiv - from beach rouge bar, Kullen from beach rouge resto, John and Saleem from maison lux, vaishali, the ai kisu team!

Traumurlaub im Paradies

05 Jun 2023 | jrgen456

My wife and I stayed at the Lux Grand Baie for 14 nights in May to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. In advance we had written to the hotel about further reservations at Ai Kisu. We then received a sheet to fill out, on which we could enter various things, such as B. pillows, mattress thickness, filling of the minibar, shoe sizes, etc. That worked out great, when we got to the room everything was prepared as discussed! The junior suites are very spacious and modernly furnished and equipped. From the 2nd floor we had a beautiful view of the sea. The food and drink - we booked half board as we don't usually eat lunch. This allowed us to have breakfast and dinner at Beach Rouge and Bisou and use a credit on Ai Kisu (2400 MUR per person). We liked the breakfast buffet, there was everything your heart desires and more. There was no freshly squeezed orange juice, but the fruit juices offered were delicious. Dinner was also excellent. Unfortunately, the service at the Beach Rouge remained a weak point, and it didn't improve during our stay. One employee takes us to the table, another takes the order, and another brings the food. It seemed to us that waiters were not assigned to tables and they seemed very inexperienced. Everyone somehow did everything, which unfortunately didn't work and can't work either. For us it was incomprehensible that the tea we ordered usually took a very long time before it was served to the table. (Pour water into a pot and put tea bags in). After ordering (breakfast) it was sometimes difficult to get the attention of the waiters again and the waiters walked past you very quickly without making eye contact, since you either only received part of what you ordered or not at all. There were always 2 eggs although only one was ordered and always without a spoon. Likewise, the tea always came without a spoon. Salt shaker partly unusable due to the humidity. So you had to ask several times... We moved our romantic dinner inside because of the weather that day (already noon), unfortunately the beach rouge restaurant was not prepared for it and so our table was only prepared accordingly on request. The food was very good. Since we like to take our time at dinner to enjoy everything, there was unfortunately often no break between courses, even if you had asked to order the main course later when ordering. Basically you can say that the quality of the food is very high both at breakfast and at dinner and everything is very tasty and of excellent quality. In contrast to this is the service on the beach, Bisou and in the Ai-Kisu restaurant (5 visits). Everything here was exemplary and just very good. Thank you again for the special breakfast at bisou! We would particularly like to mention Isinee (Ai-Kisu), Jaden from the beach, the water sports team and especially Jamie, who took very good care of us and always tried very hard. Unfortunately we couldn't take a picture together with Isinee, Jaden and Jamie due to days off... We had a private boat tour to see the dolphins which was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Thanks again for this! All in all we had a memorable stay at Lux Grand Baie. The hotel, hotel rooms, pool areas, beach, spa and gym were excellent. The food was very good, especially at Ai Kisu, but I really think the food and drink service needs improvement to justify the price and 5 star rating. We would love to come back and we loved Mauritius. Definitely a recommendation!

56th wedding anniversary

07 Jun 2023 | trevorf67

Within minutes of arriving Jennifer was outlining special treats the hotel would like to provide for our celebration. We were bowled over. Spread over our two weeks we had 6/7 delightful experiences courtesy of the management. A huge thank you. In addition we had exemplary service from the staff. Jeyen servicing our thirst needs to our favourite location by the pool. Saleem dazzling us with his personalised coffee presentations. How did he do that? Premila created beautiful scenes in our room with flowers and towels. How romantic. Youssef gave us a special meal to remember. Watching him work in the kitchen and tasting his creation was of a Michelin hand. A big thank you Youssef. Well done Lux Grand Baie

The best resort in Mauritius

Disappointing service from a premium hotel

09 Jun 2023 | raihanp300

I have been to both LUX Grand Gaube and Grand Baie and it is ashame to say that I received MUCH better service from the cheaper Grand Gaube. The service at Grand Baie is lacking, no attention to detail. I waited 10 minutes to check in and was then addressed by an intern who had no experience or knowledge of the hotel. She failed to answer many basic questions and did not know her way around the hotel. I know from reading online that LUX* have many surprises and games (message in a bottle, phone home) however, none of this was mentioned to me at check-in. I am disappointed with the service and will not be returning.

Superb

13 Jun 2023 | 978kevin

We arrived here after leaving their sister hotel in the south of the island early. We were taken aback by the stunning architecture. The hotel is set in a lovely location and within walking distance of Grand Baie. We loved the very modern and spacious feel of the rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was out of this world. We felt spoilt having a remote control to close the curtains, blackout curtains and turn the lights off (even the WC had a remote control. The roof top Tapas restaurant was excellent with all dishes covered within the half board allowance. The main restaurant was great and we loved that it was a la carte, breakfasts were superb. Service in all areas was impeccable. Would we return? Absolutely yes .

WELCOME TO THE CROWN JEWELS

15 Jun 2023 | 680ziadm

A last minute schedule change transported my wife and I to a tropical paradise enveloped in the luxury of crown jewel of the mauritian resorts - Lux* GB. Our first view was lofty heights, wide open spaces perfectly curated design and architecture, alluring oceanic vistas drawing you into the distance of the entrance lobby. From the rooms, the gym, the restuarants, the friendly staff expertly led by Nicolas (GM) and Rooma, everything is as it should be ........ perfect. Expect nothing less. Not the cheapest by a long shot ..... just simply the best. We will be back Zaid and Zarene

Wonderful stay at Lux grand bay

18 Jun 2023 | ahtingj

We had an amazing time here at LUX Grand Baie. The food was amazing, very diverse and delicious. The LUX’me Spa was very relaxing and clean, a must do when coming here. They offer so many activities for adults and children. The staff was also amazing, extremely kind and always helping when needed. Iqbal was the most welcoming person we could have asked for and Jai the most helpful and kind person during our time here. Jai and Iqbal served us with a pleasant smile and that made our stay so enjoyable and sweet. I definitely recommend everyone to come here at LUX Grand Baie when coming to Mauritius. It is the most amazing experience. We came here with friends to have a good time and we definitely did.

Lovely place for a quick getaway!

20 Jun 2023 | andreaj853

The stay was lovely. The property was beautiful and the food was delicious, especially the breakfast. The rooms very clean, the bed's were super comfy that you would never feel like getting up!! The staff at the watersports section is also lovely. We took the package for 6000 MUR to swim with the turtles and it was totally worth it! Special mention to Vedoosha, she was an absolute pleasure to talk to, super friendly and hospitable. We had dinner at Ai Kisu as well, the food was good, the ramen was a bit weird. The ambience is nice. The only suggestion that I have is for the staff to be a little more attentive and present. For a 5 star resort, we found this lacking. Right from the point we arrived at the hotel. There was no one at the valet for 15 mins, and then I walked into the reception to find someone to unload our luggage. There needs to be someone substituted when the valet is away. We were on the Honeymoon package and had the wine & cheese class, the high tea, champagne breakfast and honeymoon photographs. Although we clearly coordinated with Jamie, the hotel's experience manager. She did not inform the staff of Maison lux regarding the high tea. So he was not prepared with anything. But he was very kind to arrange everything on a short notice. We were a little bummed about this. And for the champagne breakfast in the room, there was no champagne delivered with the breakfast and we had to ask the staff after he delivered our breakfast. He was kind enough to quickly go and bring us some. With the photographer as well, Jamie messaged us on WhatsApp saying the photographer will be available at this time. and we went to the reception and sat and he arrived 15 mins later after the said time and he was not aware that we had a slot that day. Nevertheless, he made time for us and took the photos. So I think overall there is some lack of coordination on Jamie's part. As an experience manager, we would expect her to deliver exceptional service especially when we come as part of a honeymoon package. This is just some honest feedback because every customer would like to feel like they are taken care of and important. Overall our stay was great. Thank you.

Great resort , fabulous views. Super service, nice layout. Good spa. Valet Kishan was hospitable, patient & helpful.

22 Jun 2023 | minala2023

Compact, but luxurious Resort with great views. Spa was good. Lot of places to relax on the beach, near the pool. Chairs, deckchairs, cabanas. Good landscaping. Excellent staff. Our valet Kishan, helpful, patient & hospitable. Good food

Amazing hotel, Amazing place, Very Kind People Work here 🍀

One of the best hotels we have visited. We had a wedding here and everything went well. the staff was very nice and accommodated us in every request. Special thanks to Jennifer who took care of everything and her work and attitude is unbelievable. Jennifer is The Best! Thank you for everything. We are very happy to visit again🍀

Beautiful & stylish

26 Jun 2023 | robrobertr

We were sooo looking forward to stay in this hotel since it was on my radar from the opening. The whole property is very beautiful and stylish, and the service is very good, comparing the other hotels we stayed in Mauritius. We had the most amazing welcome by Vinela, honestly it was one of the best arrival and check in experience we ever had. She was so kind and cheerful, made the first impression truly amazing. Unfortunately we had issues with the room condition so we requested a room change but nothing happened for 2 hours. We were very upset that we couldn’t settle in a room so after many calls we went the front desk again. Thank God we met there Rooma and Brinda and they arranged a new room for us in 5 minutes! They were so helpful and organized everything for us. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, though knowing the fact they opened only a few years ago, there are already some damages and errors, they should focus more on maintenance to avoid the hotel being run down in a few years🙏🏼 We called housekeeping many times when we missed something or when we had some requests and they were very proactive, we received everything what we needed in a short time. Cleaning in general should be improved, for example in the beach restaurant the cushions very so dirty, and not cleaned properly, I had to check all the time where to sit. Also, tables should be cleaned up faster, many times the dirty dishes with the leftovers were a heaven for the birds. We used the gym every day, it’s not very big but there are everything you need for a training. Also, the gym staff is very helpful and cleaning the machines frequently. The gardens, the pools and the beach is very beautiful and picturesque, you get magnificiant views everywhere from the hotel. The beach was not our favourite though, it is nice but after arriving from Le Morne, it was completely a different world and experience. There are restaurants and small shops within 10-15 mins walking distance and a shopping mall in a 5 mins taxi ride but honestly the hotel is so nice, you don’t feel leaving it 🙈🤗

Perfect

01 Jul 2023 | wee_lassy_eats_world

The place has the wow factor when you walk in! Very modern and chic. Outstanding service from all staff with a special shout out to Jerome at concierge who went above and beyond every time. Food was very good. Not always 5*, but never disappointing. Beautiful beach and always sun loungers available. Our room was very spacious and comfy with a large balcony. WiFi was unstable at times. 10-15 minute walk into town. Just over an hour from the airport. Typical 5* prices.

Go there for Rooftop gym,Pool AND perform basic human task at Beach Rouge 🙂

03 Jul 2023 | wedaadxwb

One of the most luxurious hotels in Mauritius…over the top amenities in and outside of the room. Excellent rooftop gym and pool. Whatever comes out of Maison Luxe and Beach Rouge is tasty and should be illegal (for the amount of calories I consumed 😊). Regards and Thank you to all specially to Vikram (FOM), Vinela,Brinda,Vick and Varshali. Was sent a chocolate cake for my birthday in my room and it was one of the best I have had in all my travels. The charcoal croissant at breakfast is to die for… ticks all the boxes in a croissant, loads of crumbs and butter. Menu for breakfast is extensive and extremely good quality. This goes the same as for lunch menu… Pizza was better than I had in the birthplace of Pizza which sums up my opinion… Beach Rouge menu was very carefully conceived as everything on the menu is worth every single calorie I ingested. Will be back soon to perform basic human task at Beach Rouge specially.

Perfect honeymoon with our kids

04 Jul 2023 | becsroycroft

This hotel lived up to everything we hoped for. Travelling with two young children (1yrs and 4yrs) we had the Lux pool residence with two bedrooms, pool and a kitchenette which was great. The best things for us were the facilities on offer. We had excellent babysitting organised through the Kids Club Team for 3 days and 4 evenings over two weeks. There were also daily activities for the kids which you can drop them off for (but my sons won’t be left at all unfortunately for us!). The manager Clothilde Huet was a brilliant help. The hotel management team of Ruma, Stuart and Jaime were so helpful for anything we needed and supported a few requests we had. We got so many nice things included such as afternoon tea, wine and cheese experience, a massage, a photo shoot and even free guest beach bags! There were so many water sports on offer included in the price: waterskiing, wake boarding, kayaking and then glass bottom boat trips and snorkelling out to see the coral. However the best activity was a paid swimming with turtles experience which was incredible. One of our personal favourite things was the fitness suite. I paid for 9 x PT sessions and one spin class over 2 weeks and my husband used the gym which is included. Both the roof top training area and the main gym. The staff there, led by Didier Zama, were amazing. Didier, Yassin and Vanessa all ran 121 sessions for me. They were so knowledgeable and great at adapting to my needs (as I’m rehabbing from knee surgery) If I could have a few moans the spa was a bit over priced for treatments which meant we did 1 extra each not more, but you can use the spa itself fully included which was so stunning. Also at one of the main restaurants Beach Rouge the early evening service was hit and miss. Because we needed to eat with the kids around 530/6pm it was a bit in between the lunch and dinner service. So we had to use the evening dinner menu which is a very slimmed down version of the lunch menu (which is incredible and 4 pages long!) so it all got a bit samey and carb heavy. Also the staff seemed to be on a change over point too, so we had a few less good evenings service. But too be honest it’s only two small things over an incredible 2 weeks. We are already researching if we can go back next year.

The best family resort

04 Jul 2023 | faisalaT4631CY

The perfect family gateway with 3 kids (5 months, 2 years and 5 years kids) . We stayed at the pool villa, it was above our expectations. We loved every single detail in this hotel, very luxurious. The villa was super clean, more than comfy and when we asked for some privacy around the pool they provided as soon as possible. We were so amazed by the architecture and how modern the hotel is, not same any other resort. You will enjoy all the facilities in the hotel from the spa, fitness club and the kids club. The resort had so many restaurants options, we tried only two since it suits our family and we enjoyed the variety of food, I would write more about the restaurant but I highly recommend the hotel guests to try and have the best experience. As for the kids club, it was the perfect place for the kids, many activities ( coloring room, reading room, some cooking activities and closed playground) but unfortunately my kids had only one day visit to it since they were enjoying the rest of the resort during the whole stay. And Special thanks to our private butler Mr Kishan, he was so helpful, he made sure that we had our best time in the resort and our villa, he gave us the best recommendations for the restaurants and the activities that suits us since we have three kids under five. Mr kishan toke good care of us, providing what ever my kids ask. We highly recommend to ask for Mr. Kishan when booking the pool villa.

Honey Moon at the Lux Grand Baie

06 Jul 2023 | nicholasd517

Stayed a the Lux Grand Baie for my Honeymoon. I wanted to take my wife somewhere special, and the Lux delivered on all fronts. From the moment you arrive at the hotel, the service is top notch and the architecture is even better. When were arrived in our hotel room there was a bottle of champagne on ice and a cake waiting for us. The hotel is better than the pictures make it look. What the pictures don't capture is the sprawling buffet every morning that is unlike any other buffet I have ever been to. There was a machine, where at the press of a button you could grind peanuts into peanut butter. There was raw honeycomb, exotic cheeses from all over, bubbles and if you are on a health kick there is a juice bar. Before breakfast, I would go get a coffee from the full-on coffee shop in the lobby where there must be 6 different coffee types from all over the world that you can choose from, that are all freshly ground and included with the room. After a few coffees, i would then have the energy to get a workout in at the outdoor gym, or if it was too hot the indoor gym was well air-conditioned. There was plenty of beds and spaces to chill at by the pool or down by the beach. Renting sailboats or paddle boards or snorkeling is all included and very easy to sign up for. There was no shortage of activities to fill the days with. Ai-Kisu is one of the best restaurants on the island is located at the hotel. The locals will visit if there is a special occasion. Its a next-level Asian restaurant, with wild cocktails and a very good ambiance. We only went on the second last day of our trip, which we regretted as we would have enjoyed one more meal there. For sundowners, the rooftop pool and bar is the place to be. I think my wife made me take 1000 photos of her as she felt like she was Insta famous for a hot minute. All in was a 10/10 vacation. We were visiting from South Africa and everything was pegged to European prices, so dinners and drinks were a little pricey. There are lots of good restaurants in the area, so we ate the majority of our meals after breakfast to get a feel for the town. This was quite a bit cheaper than the hotel. While at the hotel we did not hold back at all our food and drink bill was still quite reasonable by the time it was all said and done. Some other tips would be to rent a car, which is extremely reasonable verus taking a taxi everywhere. Exploring the island is a lot of fun, and there is a lot to see. We also drove to the south of the island and hiked La Morne with Explorers Mauritius which was a real highlight for us. The Guide Bryn their iss an absolute legend so please check it out.

Very bad experience with the security personnel at the main entrance.

08 Jul 2023 | seeker8159

Dear Lux Grand Bay Management team, I hope this review finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a recent encounter we had with one of your security personnel at Lux Grand Bay (Main Gate). As avid patrons and regular visitors, we have always held a great appreciation for the exceptional service and warm hospitality provided by your establishment. However, our experience on Saturday 8th of July 2023 , 13:30 P.M has left us truly disheartened. On that particular day, my fiancée and I arrived at Maison Lux, as we often do on weekends, looking forward to enjoying tea, coffee, pastries, or a delightful meal at one of your esteemed restaurants. Regrettably, we were denied access by your security personnel at the main entrance , citing a new policy that excludes non-residents. While we completely understand and respect the implementation of such a policy, we were taken aback by the manner in which we were treated during this incident. Despite being informed that there were no available seating options, we graciously offered to order take-away and promptly leave after making our payment. However, the behavior of the security personnel was marked by rudeness and an unnecessary display of hostility. When I requested his name in order to address him appropriately, he dismissively replied, "I don't work for you, and I don't have to provide my name. Feel free to stand in the middle of the road if you wish." As long-standing patrons who consistently contribute our hard-earned money to support your establishment, we firmly believe that we should not be subjected to such treatment. It was disheartening to observe that, in contrast to our experience, access was readily granted to foreign individuals who happened to pass by, despite their non-resident status. I kindly request that you address this matter promptly and take appropriate action to ensure that incidents of this nature are not repeated in the future. The Lux Grand Bay has always been renowned for its impeccable service and commitment to customer satisfaction, and it is my sincere hope that this incident will be treated as an isolated occurrence. We remain dedicated fans of Lux Grand Bay and hold the belief that this incident does not reflect the standard of service we have come to expect from your esteemed establishment. I trust that you will investigate the matter thoroughly and take the necessary measures to rectify the situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Mr S. Jhurry

Overpriced mediocrity. Chaotic service.

14 Jul 2023 | StanMihaylov

I choose the Lux* Grand Baie to celebrate my partner’s birthday as we’ve previously stayed at their Lux* North Male Atoll hotel in the Maldives in early 2019 before it was sold to the Jumeirah group. We had an absolutely amazing time in the Maldives, I proposed to my partner there and we had and absolutely amazing time. I was expecting that we have a similar experience at their Mauritius property but I was unfortunately very wrong. We stayed in a junior suite room on a bed and breakfast board as we were planning to explore the island and the first impression of the hotel was very good. The lobby has extra high ceiling and you feel like entering a cathedral or a palace, the layout is well thought out and all junior suite rooms have ocean view, the beach looked well-kept and organized, the pool area and gardens looked very well kept and perfect for relaxation. Unfortunately, the first day after we arrived, we got to meet Freddy (tropical cyclone class 3 with wind speeds of 165 mph) and this showed how unprepared the staff was at dealing with such cases. For an island country which is hit by 5 cyclones a year I found the way they dealt with this to be very disorganised. Only two restaurants were open during the 3 days of when the cyclone hit – Aikisu and Beach Rouge and the menu was the same every single day. I don’t see what was stopping them from offering different menus or at least an option to order a la carte. Staff were rude and disorganised. Asked guest to queue in front of the two-way door of Aikisu with no one on the other side of the door to tell people not to push the door in so both myself and my partner and few other guests were hurt by the door opened onto us by other guests trying to get in. A menu with times were sent to all room apparently advising people of the time slots when they can have breakfast, lunch and dinner and surprise surprise no on followed them so massive queues formed at each restaurant 3 times a day. Oysters and sea urchins were left in melting ice for god knows how long and I was lucky that I only got a really bad upset stomach and not a food poisoning. Prices are simply ridiculous. We’ve been to The One & Only and Four Seasons but I’ve never seen cheap bottle of wine sold for over £100 when the same wine is about £20 in the shop nearby. Bottle of a relatively ok..ish Moet was £700. Burgers which were not much better than GBK were around £35 and the cocktails were going for £30 each. Our bill came to over £3K for just a week without us indulging in any fine dining or wine tasting which is too much for the service provided. I can see that there are trying to compete with Fours Seasons price wise but no one told them that you pay for the service there. I think it was an absolutely disgusting experience to be served nice champagne with an attitude. It just ruined the taste. Before we arrived, I found that there is a world renowned pastry chef working at the hotel but we never saw any culinary extravagance offered or any special deserts or pastry. Quite the opposite actually. The few times we asked for special desert to be made they came back so badly prepared that I would have thought this was a 2 star bed and breakfast place and not a 5 start resort with world renowned pastry chef. The promotional videos online and on their website showed that the vide of the hotel was more young people having fun and not families with ten kids running around and screaming. Also, no entertainment whatsoever. Even the cheap and cheerful Caribbean resorts have entertainment so that was another massive letdown. Overall we were very disappointed and we would definitely return to Mauritius as we didn’t get to do much exploring because of the cyclone but we are not coming back to the Lux* for sure.

Remarkable experience.

It was a pleasant experience all through our stay. The customer service is exceptional. The rooms and facilities is very modern and the environment is beautiful. I want to personally say thank you to Ashvan for going above and beyond. I will definitely visit again.

Honeymoon experience -

Splendid experience. Chose to spend honeymoon time in this premium hotel and my husband and I do not have regrets. Great view, cosy clean hi-tech suite, gym highly equipped. Spa and hamam very relaxing. Food is awesome. Asian dining at Aikisu is another level. And bisous rooftop bar and swimming pools are nice with great view. Infrastructure well designed. Special mention to Patrick & team from Aikisu and Oliver, Shekar and team from Bisous for their warm service and conversation. Always with a smile
