Oman

Oman is one of the Middle East’s best-kept secrets, with famously friendly locals and incredible diverse Arabian landscapes. The biggest draw card may be the country’s long coastline of golden beaches and the rolling desert dunes, but a trip to the north will take you to high mountains ripe for hiking and rock climbing including the famous Majilis Al Jinn mountain cave, and the south of the country features green vegetation and beautiful hill country.
Muscat, the capital city, combines the beauty of natural rock formations and Arabian architecture. The Royal Opera House and newly-opened National Museum of Oman are great cultural stops, and the turquoise Bimmah Sinkhole can be found just outside the city.
Be sure to visit the decorative Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque,
shop at the enormous souk in Muttrah, see the nesting ground for endangered green turtles at Ras Al Jinz, wander the streets of Salalah and explore the villages, plantations and rock formations in the green Wadi Bani Khalid valley.
