Whistler is a mountain sports mecca with year-round activities for tourists of all skill levels.
First and foremost, Whistler is a snow sports resort town. Skiers and snowboarders congregate every winter for some of the best groomed trails, snow parks and off-piste trails in the world. Start out on the learners’ slopes or head straight to legendary trails such as Peak to Creek and Blackcomb Glacier. Even if you don’t like skiing, you can take the chairlifts and gondolas for breath-taking views of the Pacific Ranges.
In summer Whistler residents and visitors dust off their hiking boots, mountain bikes and rock climbing harnesses and take to the hills in search of adventure and views. The Peak to Peak Gondola is one of the highest in the world, connecting the summits of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. For a high-speed adventure you can also go for guided tours white water rafting or ziplining through the treetops. Fly fishers will also find plenty of mountain lakes and rivers home to a variety of trout and salmon species.
