The town of Banff is the hub for exploring Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It offers an excellent range of accommodation up to luxury hotels and lodges with some of the most scenic restaurants in the world. It is also the home of the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival which attracts rock climbers, mountaineers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world.
The Rocky Mountains are clearly visible from the streets of Banff, and ski fields are easily accessible from the township or the nearby village of Lake Louise.
You don’t have to go far outdoors to see stunning lakes including Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, rivers, caves, hot springs and the famous Bow Falls. The park is home to wildlife such as elk, bighorn sheep, and the occasional grizzly bear.
A drive to the south will take you to the stunning Columbia Icefield, the largest body of ice in the Canadian Rockies.
