Namibia is a wild, lightly populated country with seemingly endless natural wonders. It is bordered by South Africa, Botswana and Angola, and its far north-west point touches Zambia and Zimbabwe near Victoria Falls.
Being the driest country in Sub-Saharan Africa, Namibia’s scenery is very different to the teeming parks of Botswana and South Africa. In the Skeleton Coast – named for the animal bones littering the shore and enormous sand dunes –you might see lions and hyena stalking seals in search of a meal, or an elephant bathing in the sea. You can explore the region by foot, kayak, catamaran, quad bike or 4WD truck, or even surf the long breaks.
See the dried skeletons of acacia trees in a deadveli; hike Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons on earth; stargaze in the desert at Spitzkoppe; explore the craters of the Moon Landscapes; sandboard on enormous dunes; and see leopards, cheetahs, caracal cats, giraffes, antelope and neon-pink flamingos in Namibia’s national parks.
